Western Michigan? WTF?

Rip his freaking head off!

You mean West Michigan...

That's not what Trebek said...

I guess I should've put that in quotes.

to be honest

I wouldn't of thought of that at the moment either.

but I damn sure wouldn't of guessed MIT, theschoolthatleavesabadtasteinmymouth, or W Michigan.

these 'smart' people don't follow collegiate sports.. which is sad. :(

It's kinda funny you say that. I remember when I was a Sophomore in high school my brother was a Senior on the Academic Team (yea, I really am Indian). The categories weren't revealed until you decided who was going to play for your team that round, so they let some other kids go since he had gone for like 5 straight rounds. The category ended up being "College Team Mascots". These kids were getting every question right until that round and then I think one team got Oregon's right and that was it. They weren't hard either, one of the questions was Florida and nobody knew.

Rip his freaking head off!

I too was yelling at the TV.

Fun Fact

MIT went 5-4 last year. Fist season with 5 wins since 2008 and first winning record since 1999.

I'm not huge into Jeopardy so I don't know the wager rules, but why the hell would each of them wager so much if they didn't know the answer? The risk reward just doesn't make sense to me.

They wager based on the category (in this case "Colleges & Universities"). Then they reveal the clue.

Oh okay gotcha. Makes more sense now.
