Nice.

Even if the Hokies don't get these players, It's better to offer. Improves familiarity with the staff in that school, opening doors for future players. It's better to compete and lose for a recruit, than to not even show up.

Can't find anything about Lalen McCain

Thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering why we were interested in a 2*

Your Ryan Izzo is even HS Class of 2010 and currently plays LAX at UMASS. So, yeah, wrong dude.

my bad, my bad. Joe came through and shut me up with his detailed post anyway. If I could edit my post I'd erase everything and put "refer to Joe's comment below"

I was following these via Twitter throughout the day and it seemed like every hour there was another report of another offer. What does it say about where we stand with the guys we have been recruiting in-state for the last couple of years? Here are my notes.

Raymon Minor

His film is here: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1528073/raymon-minor.

North Carolina offered earlier in the week.

He's visiting Ohio State.

Tech amplified their recruitment back in December (via http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/colleges/osu/post/_/id/6119/interest-is-...)

"Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, North Carolina, Penn State, Maryland and a few others," Sam Mustipher said when asked what schools have shown interest via coaching visits this month.

It sounds like he won't make a decision for a while (via http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-02-21/sports/bal-insidemdsports-4s..., date 2/21/13)

"I haven't started to think about college much at all," Mustipher said. "I'll sit down in the summer time when I have free time. In the summer time, all I do is work out with the team and spend time with my friends. Then I'll start to think about top schools."

Jesse Aniebonam

Ian Bunting

Nic Weishar

More highlights are here: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/610394/nic-weishar.

Here's an interview he did: http://www.maizenbrew.com/2013/3/8/4077018/talking-recruiting-with-te-ni....

Prob couldn't find anything on Kalen McCain because I was looking for Lalen

Hmm, Aniebonam is from Good Counsel....

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

This is an odd set of offers, only Minor looks like a high yield offer. It's a clear change in strategy, we wouldn't normally be bothering with TEs from NJ and IN. Are these long term relationship building offers? Or do we really feel we can start pulling out of state talent like this? A lot of these kids have Bama, ND, OSU offers.....

Ryan Izzo played HS football in my county. I'm so happy to see NJ getting recruited more.

Wasn't Ryan MF Williams from NJ? If so, that helps because he was a record-setting RB for the Hokies.

I support Logan Thomas and make no apologies for it.

Born in New York, but played high school in Manassas at Stonewall Jackson.

RW was from Manassas.

Jason Adejopong (Worilds) and Ryan Malleck are the only guys in recent memory that I can remember from NJ

Zach Luckett was also from NJ and he would have been good for us if would have stopped drinking and driving.
