EDSBS: THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL DRUNK SPECTRUM

If you don't already read EDSBS, you should fix that by starting with this:

VIRGINIA TECH DRUNK

A sick hybrid of hunting drunk, coal country drunk, and football drunk. Most lethal when combined with cold weather drunk. Play a country song over it and towns downwind receive evacuation orders. (God help us if they ever get a Nashville-ified version of "Enter Sandman.")

Sounds pretty accurate to me.

Umm, eww

Country music is the worst

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Some of us enjoy a good country song.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

They seem to disagree.

"nothing better then this" I'm not even surprised.

RIP Parks and Rec :(

A good Country song, yes. Not what's topping the charts lately, though. As far as I can tell, it's pop rock with a southern accent.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Formulated pap.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

FWIW, I'm a sucker for Waylon, Willie, and the boys.

Leonard. Duh.

Me too, and those Williams boys they still mean a lot to me, Hank and Tennessee.

Never heard of her. You mean Dirty Mike and the boys?

Ladies and gentlemen, Sturgill Simpson. Making new and actual country music.

The only thing in life that makes it worth living, is guitars in tune and firm feeling woman

Country music and football are a terrible, contrasting combination that should be eliminated from existence

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Case in Point: That sh*tty College Gameday song by Country Steven Tyler with Weird Hat and Short Guy with Cowboy Hat featuring Country Rapper (to cover the "ethnic" demographic). Those turds should have been flushed years ago. I miss Bubba Sparxxx's intro song.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"
-gobble gobble chumps

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

I loved those Bubba Sparxxx intros. They were almost always relevant week to week.

I beg to differ, and I present exhibit A:

Reminded me of this 30 Rock episode where Jenna "goes country"

FTFY

Hey, now. While I will agree that most new country is terrible (mention some combination of: drinking beer, a truck, a girl, America, fishing, etc. and you have a song), I am all about some 90s country and classic country. Back when songwriting in Nashville hadn't completely devolved into BroCountry.

Yeah it's modern rock/pop/"country" which is terrible. There's one called like "the boys" came out like 2 years ago where they basically put a hip-hop beat then sang in a country accent and said "noone here knows how to dougie", that song might be worse than the K-A-R-S KarsforKids song. That crap aside, I'm getting really into bluegrass and I dig classic country, but those shouldn't be played at a tailgate within 3 hours of a football game.

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Wait, are you talking about The Boys 'Round Here by Blake Shelton?? I wouldn't say they put a hip hop beat into that song. I also find it pretty entertaining, then again I like current country music, so I probably just threw all my credibility out the window haha

Indeed.

If you play it, they will win.

I seem to remember saying the same thing in the '90s...

Damn he's right

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Spencer Hall is probably my favorite CFB blogger. Hatin' Ass Steve Spurrier is always entertaining.

After witnessing it first hand on a fateful night back in 2007, I would have LSUDrunk a bit higher on this list.

Those people were dangerous.
