Page Jumping Issues

Is anyone else experiencing an issue with the page jumping up and down on their screen. It seems to me it has something to do with the video advertisements on the side. It's driving me insane! Any ideas or suggestions???

And I don't know if it's related, but typing a message on here is all jacked up for me as well. Many key strokes don't register.

And I apologize if I'm violating some forum guideline by posting this here, but I couldn't read the Community Guidelines because the d@mn page kept jumping to the bottom!!!

Yes happens to me as well

Same here. I just noticed it today.

Using /s is for cowards.

This is about the 40,000 thread/comment about this topic. Yes, I am aware of it. It's out of my control. We run a limited number of ads and every so often one that's buggy shows up. I am doing my best to take care of it.

I'll be blunt when I say that if more TKPers financially support the website, say enough to cover $31,407.58, there would be less of a need for the ads running. http://www.thekeyplay.com/support

Edit: "Many key strokes don't register." This is the first I have heard of this. Would you explain more.

I've experienced the type not registering also. Happens every so often where what I'm typing just doesn't show up or shows up with a 3-5 second lag time.

Well I apologize Joe for opening an old wound. And forgive me for having not seen the previous 40,000 posts on the topic. Point taken on the donations to limit sponsorship needs.

WRT the key strokes comment, as Hokie Firman commented, what I'm typing doesn't show up on the screen. Characters are skipped, etc. Just noticed that one in the last two days. Obviously I don't comment much on the site, but I read frequently (almost daily this time of year...). This is a minor issue for me. But the page jumping is frustrating as hell. None of the above happens when I'm on my iPad, just my laptop. Will give the Chrome suggestions a try!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Is your computer currently playing Enter Sandman? That's the only reason I can think of for why your screen is jumping.

I posted this somewhere else, but if it gets to be too much, and the sight of html doesn't intimidate you...using Chrome you can right-click, "inspect element" near the video (either in the adjacent non-video ad or the discussion bar) click on the div containing the video, and hit the delete key. This eliminates the buggy video ad. Not ideal, but easy workaround that works for me.

Edit: I had tried to include the word div in corner brackets, but apparently it was treated as html, kind of ironic I guess

Don't know if this will help or not, but I'm not experiencing the page jumping. I use the AdBlock extension with Google Chrome. Maybe this will help for you

Thanks for the advice!

I've had this issue off and on for a while now. Usually, just with the threads with a large number of posts. The only thing I've found that seems to work for me is to put my cursor arrow on the down arrow of the up/down bar and left click on it to move down. Usually works, not sure why.

I chalk it up to 500 gifs and images loading, changing the overall length of the page. Give it a minute then you should be able to scroll free and clear.
