Sitting there in the stadium last night, and seeing some of the stuff the produced for this game on the video board... anyone else get the feeling that the school is beginning the goodbye process? Just something we picked up on and couldn't quite shake it, whether it be for this season or setting us up for next, it just feels like that transition process is starting to happen.

What was on the video board?
I think it was as much to drive home the idea that VT is all about family for the recruits.
EDIT: Thinking about it more the videos seemed to portray him as if he was dead, like a remembrance type of video. Same with Billy Hite.
of course.. the naming of Beamer Way the changing of the athletics department address.. It's thing a Good AD does early that way when the time comes all the proper steps have been done ahead of time .
I actually had the same thought. Was a really weird feeling.
Since they announced the Bristol game, I've said that will be his last season. Add to what's above that he came out and said that he wants his successor to come from within...means at least he's openly talking about it now too.
The video put up seemed like something that should have been released next year for his last year.
It's really important to give the impression that we are aware Frank's career is coming to an end and are prepared for the transition. I'm sure Whit's fingerprints are all over this.
Wow- same thought here... it felt like a end of year tribute. Something about Frank does not look right.
No, it didn't occur to me at all. It's just filler...you can only show so many ex-players, play "name that tune" segments, and have "guess the year" contests.
My guess is that they would have done the same thing 5-10 years ago if they had a huge screen, a decent sound system, and fans/students that so desperately need to be entertained non-stop then like they do now.
Well, they did show Frank as an ex-player. The name-that-tune was also the two Beamers competing.
