Mack is a little tight I think. His natural reaction is one of a leader of a program, and he's affable enough on the mic. I think he adds value to their broadcasting team

I'm not sold on him as a color commentator, but I think he's great as a panelist/contributor on pregame or halftime segments. His personality is perfect for it.

Yea definitely. On that run where Cook stepped out, he was very much in coach speak about it. I think some time will show him he isn't accountable for every word like he was when he was a coach

Honestly, if they don't win a national championship while they are there then I will feel a little happy inside. I know we like to take the higher ground but yea those two still sting...

This game was a defensive battle. Both of these teams were bringing everything but the kitchen sink tonight. I know most comments will say this game was boring, but I really appreciate these type of slug-fests. There certainly weren't very many fireworks--only 7 points were scored by either team's offense. But my goodness...Lefty is going to lose a ton of sleep prepping for these guys. BC's defense is legit. Beating them on the road is going to take every available weapon in the arsenal.
3 thoughts after watching this game:
1. FSU (and Clemson from last night) both look pedestrian. Neither offense impressed me this week. Unless its a 1-loss VT, I don't see an ACC squad in the playoff this season.
2. I get the sads watching Derrick Nnadi and Josh Sweat getting quality minutes on D for FSU. Mind you, we are fine in Blacksburg at those two positions, but knowing we missed on signing day for both those top VA recruits is a painful reminder of where we sit in the national perception.
3. Snap! Top play of the week: BC linebacker completely decleated the OL guard for FSU...right from the snap. Late in the game...unbelievable...sent the 300 lb lineman right to his bottom, ran him over, and proceeded to tackle the TB in the backfield. This play alone was worth my time watching this contest.

Yeah Clemson and FSU aren't looking great. I think we have a pretty solid top ten or so throughout the country but after that it's just a mishmash of who is going to end up winning games. Clemson was a trendy pick to go to the playoff, but I just don't see it right now. Having said that, Louisville appears to play to the level of their opponents but is still 0-3.
And that LB decleating the OL was pretty great.

I am getting this nagging negative feeling that our defensive tackle depth is going to be wasted due to poor linebacker play. But then... I drink my happy juice and just want cheer Lets Go Hokies!

FSU definitely wasn't world beaters last night. Golson seems like an average QB with some mobility. Definitely a stop gap for them for who ever is coming next. I wonder how they would have been had he not transferred since he's the starter. BC's defense looked better than I thought they would. Had some speed to get to the edge on Cook a lot last night.
And as with everyone else, Nnadi and Sweat made sad.

That's really rough. The freshman they've got is basically a smaller Lawson. Talented kid, not intended for immediate consumption. I saw the starter go down and it looked nasty when it happened. Football aside, you really feel for the guy.

If BC could have done ANYTHING offensively they would have won that game. FSU will lose at least two games this year (My guess is GT/Clemson and Louisville/NC State)

I'm a recent Clemson alum and I want Notre Dame and FSU to come into Death Valley and smash them. They are an insufferably delusional fan base. I know there are some other upstate SC Hokies here, but I'm glad most of you don't have to endure their lack of respect for all other programs while being insanely certain Clemson will win the NC every year.

Typical BC fan attendance. Not a fan of the color commentary tonight.
Agree, Mack Brown was horrible at the commentary. Reminded me of Madden.
If I wasn't at work I would have a field day throwing SNL Madden GIFs... ugh! This commentary almost makes me want to listen to this commentary
I actually really enjoyed Mack Brown's commentating during the SMU/Baylor game a few weeks ago.
Agreed. Mack apparently gets paid by the word.

Nnadi just abused a guard for a sack
Nnadi just looked NASTY on that sack.
Addazio brings the right attitude to a team. If Bud were the DC, I would invite Addazio as out next HBC
I don't know how Bud would feel about being looked over for Addazio but yeah I also like him as a potential coaching candidate.
You really want this guy as our head coach?

Guy's a Dude, Man.
Lefty and Steve could have conversations where every other coach in the room is like:

We lose again..............

Summary of BC offense:
First down: run straight up the gut for no gain.
Second down: QB run/sweep/option for short gain
Third down: ill-advised deep ball
Shades of Rickey Bustle...
Yeah, at least Stiney got the ill-advised deep ball out of the way on first down.
Almost reminds me of Dooley
ZZZZzzzzz
I hate both these teams
FSU is way overrated at 9.
I think this year like last the top 10-15 teams are not that good. I think we see teams in top rankings 6-15 with 2-3 loses by end of the year.
Even the clock doesn't want this game to happen.
That looked really, really not good.
Sorry BC, but FSU ain't exactly Howard.
I don't know about that PA call.

What time or quarter did the LB obliteration of the OL happen?
Fourth quarter

BC lost their starting QB for the season to a broken ankle last night:

Unless they improve a lot, they may lose to all 4 of them.

I understand how you feel, but to their credit they've vastly improved their program and have notched some big OOC wins the past couple of years.
