I've seen each week that the fine folks over at ESPN put out their bowl prognostications, to include their playoff picks. Naturally, I thought, "hey it's a Monday, the guys on TKP are probably gonna want something random and ultimately meaningless to discuss to get though their workday." We're also through 1/4 of the season, so we have exactly enough of a sample size to come to some totally wrong conclusions. With that said, post your CFP top four based on what you've seen so far, with or without justification. I'll start:
1. Michigan State. Legit QB; balanced, albeit boring, offense designed to control the game; defense seems solid as ever; well coached; schedule is a joke.
2. Texas A&M/ Leonard Fournette/ Ole Miss. Honestly, I have no idea who's gonna win the SEC West, but assuming they have 2 losses or less, they're in. The Aggies learned defense, Leonard Fournette is an absolute monster, and Ole Miss has incredible receivers that create their own luck, a ballsy head coach, and a defense that is overwhelmingly fast. This division will be fun to watch, especially if the state of Alabama gets put back in its place.
3. TCU. Every week, Trevone Boykin improves. Starting off ranked high means that it's their playoff berth to lose. Easiest route to undefeated of any team on this list, and they'll score a ton on everyone because defense is against Big XII bylaws.
4. VT. And there goes any semblance of credibility I had. But hear me out. Our offense is now able to put up points, and seems to actually want to do so. Our defense will continue improving despite some concerns so far. Beamerball is back. And the ACC is kind of a dumpster fire. I am of course assuming that we win out, that Notre Dame's injuries and scheduling doom them, and that the Pac-12's parity manages to make it irrelevant in the title hunt. But those are all sort of realistic. So those are my four. What are yours?

Comments
OSU TCU OLE MISS ND for no particular reasons...
Ohio State will not be left out of the playoff even if they have one loss, and even if it is to MSU. Therefore, my 4 are
OSU
Bama
MSU
Baylor
I think that's really unlikely. If MSU beats OSU, likely MSU is running the table and will win the conference. What justification does the committee have for potentially setting up a matchup between two teams that have already played, one of which is not a conference champion (or even a division champion), while simultaneously snubbing two other P5 conference champions? I know, rematches have happened in the BCS era with Bama-LSU, but I think this top-4 would cause some serious turmoil.
This.
The committee has already set the precedent that winning your conference matters, both through their own words and their actions taking OSU last year over the wishy-washy nonsense the Big 12 tried to pull.
A hypothetical 1 loss ACC champ would be in the playoff before the loser of OSU/MSU (assuming that that loss was the only loss). For better or worse, the SEC is the only conference I can see with a 2 loss champion still pretty much getting an auto bid to the playoff.
For the committee to put a 1 loss non-division, non-conference winning team into the playoff over the 1 loss champ of any other P5 would cause some serious problems for them moving forward I think, regardless of what conference we are talking about. Which is exactly why they moved OSU into that spot over TCU last year.
I'd love to see their reasoning if a 1-loss, non conference champion OSU made it this year over a 1-loss champion of another P5 conference. It would outright prove that the tv ratings and money involved are the driving force in their selection moreso than any legitimate criteria. Because honestly, I always felt that was the real reason they made it last year, and the "conference champion" criteria and Big 12 mess was a convenient shield for them to hide behind.
I'd like to be proven wrong and see them stick to their criteria in that situation but that was always just my gut feeling.
I think it could be legitimately possible if:
1. Spartans - my dad went there
2. TCU - funny looking mascot
3. Some SEC school I hope loses early - because what "way too premature" playoff prediction doesn't involve them?
4. VT - because I want it to be true
OSU, LSU, TCU, & UCLA (w/2 losses, they beat out a 1-loss ACC team, possibly VT. It ain't right, and we'll all complain)
Unfortunately for VT they are not FSU, so they won't get any love from the voters regardless of the record. All we will hear is "how terrible the ACC is this year".
Unless USC/Oregon (or whatever other Pac12 team) loses two each and unless there is only one single loss SEC team, VT will be on the outside looking in. Even if they run the table.
Just my opinion.
I think if we won every game for the rest of the regular season and won the ACCCG, we'd have a shot at the playoffs. Pending OSU doesn't lose.
How they say in SEC country..? A quality loss.
We definitely have a shot. It just depends on how everything else falls into place. There are still 9 more weeks of regular season college football plus a weekend of conference championship games, a lot can/has to happen between now and then for us to make it. We just need to focus on winning out.
For the record (not to be all negative) but I just don't see us winning out this year. Just saying if we did win out in convincing fashion, I could see us possibly making a playoff spot.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. I've been a Virginia Tech fan for too long to believe that we can go 11-1 without Michael Vick. Just saying that we had a shot.
We were 11-1 with Logan Thomas heading into the ACC championship game in 2011
...I really don't remember much after that. Wasn't that acccg game cancelled?
You mean the year that they ranked UVA for exactly one poll going into our matchup so that it looked like they stood a chance?
Then VT was all...
I think we are starting to show the potential to be able to win out and claim the ACC. But I need to see us continue the offensive resurgence for a few more weeks and against conference opponents before I will feel comfortable. I think if we can win out, we would have an outside shot at the fourth seed in the playoff. But I am a little worried. Other than GT, I don't see any other ranked teams in our regular season schedule right now. Also, GT has several big games coming up before us, including matchups against Clemson and FSU. If they lose both of those, they will likely fall out of the top 25 (they're sitting at 20 in the AP now). If that happens, and we manage to win out, we would likely have to completely throttle Clemson/FSU in the title game to get any serious consideration for the playoff. We have to hope that we continue to improve week to week, maybe another Coastal team or two sneak into the top 25, GT wins at least one out of FSU/Clemson, and whichever of those two doesn't lose to GT can win out. Otherwise, I see the ACC champ being completely excluded from the field of four. But, if we can win out and take the ACC title, I would be completely ecstatic with a NY6 bowl appearance and 12-1 season. A long way to go from here, though.
I am salivating at the possibility of landing the #4 seed and a rematch against Ohio State.
NC State has a weak schedule. But 9-3 isn't out of the question for them and they'd likely sneak into the top 25 with that record.
1-VT
2-Virginia Tech
3- #Hokies
4- VPI
Cause nobody can prove me wrong this early in the year
via GIPHY
2nd string QB and I'm still chuggin' that kool-aid. Let's go, baby.
don't forget last year's Champ did it with their 3rd string QB
#anythingspossible
Plus they lost to a 6-6 team, while our only loss would be against the defending champs. We can't lose!
OSU, LSU, Oklahoma and then either USC or Arizona. LSU was my preseason pick to win it all and I haven't seen anything so far to make me want to change that pick. Fournette could easily break Barry Sanders' single season record this year.
Don't forget, LSU's opener against McNeese State was cancelled, so Fournette is short a game and still looking damn good against SEC competition.
"Our offense is now able to put up points, and seems to actually want to do so."
I DON'T TRUST THIS NEW SHAHNY "AWR-FENSE" THINGEY. TAKE IT BACK.
I DON'T LAHKIT. I DON'T LAHKIT WUNBIT.
1. Alabama
2. Michigan
3. Colgate
4. U of Chicago
I honestly can't think of a single competition where all four of those schools would be top 4.
Snobbery?
Seeding in no particular order
1. Ohis St/Mich St (can't see both getting in)
2. UGA/Ole Miss (again, not both)
3. LSU (SEC bias is a thing)
4. TCU (I think they run the table in the Big 12)
so you think it's possible that the first round of the CFP could be a rematch of the SEC CG? LSU-UGA
I agree that SEC Bias is a thing...but, they'd at least put one of the SEC teams in the 4th spot and the other at 2. That, or they'd go 1 and 3. I think the CFP wet-dream would be having two SEC teams win their first round games to meet each other in the final
I think there will be chaos in the SEC before it's all said and done. The SEC West is going to cannibalize itself, and I ultimately think we see just the SEC champion in the playoff again. I think LSU falls to Bama on the road, Ole Miss ends up losing one or two, and Texas A&M doesn't win the division, but ends up knocking off someone. Someone is going to surprise Georgia too (possibly Auburn late, but they also play Bama in a few weeks). In short, I don't think anyone makes it out of the SEC undefeated, just like last year.
but the thing that would hurt their cause the most would be having 2 SEC teams losing in the 1st round. Having the 2 SEC teams play each other guarantees 1 in the championship with no risk of being exposed.
great point
It's possible I guess, but seeding wasn't meant to be in any particular order.
Basically.
I believe they do try and give the #1 and #2 the best possible geographic location for the semis, but beyond that the seeding is not terribly important. For example, last year they put Bama as the #1 in the Sugar Bowl and Oregon as the #2 in the Rose. After that the seeding is pretty much meaningless.
I felt that the more logical set up would have been Oregon vs. Ohio State in the Rose Bowl (which is what that bowl strives to get), and Alabama vs. FSU in the Sugar Bowl. In that case, FSU should have been #1 going into the CFP.
I have no idea.
neither does anybody here...but we're still playing along.
^This guy gets it.
My #sauces have hacked into ESPN and gotten the playoff seeds for this coming year.
At this point, Vandy may actually have a better shot than Auburn, simply by being East and needing to win a lot of games they shouldn't rather than West and needing to win a lot of games they shouldn't.
Also, everybody wants a team that finishes strong. Without looking at their whole resume, would you rather, hypothetically, go with a team on a 12 game winning streak or a team who just lost their most recent game?
I get what you're going for, but there is definitely not enough info to make a good choice there. I'm not generally of the opinion that a late loss should be damning.
I could see Auburn losing 7 games this year
Think that would keep them out of the playoffs? /s
Maybe.
All these are very interesting and with 3 games in the books (2 for LSU) I will toss my hat into this. No order:
1. Michigan State - Solid team all around, played well against that fast pace spread offense of Oregon. Can't wait to see them play a depleting anOSU! Why not OSU, because after they put all their attention against us in Primetime the team has played worse and worse and Urban looks a bit concerned with his stallions at QB
2. Texas A&M - I know LSU = Fortinette (Beast), Ole Miss beat Bama but A&M is looking electric. I don't think the rest of the SEC has the offenses to put up points as quick as A&M ($EC version of Oregon)
3. TCU - as stated they have an easier schedule and yes a Horned Frog is a cool/weird mascot!
4. Oregon - I think they will win the PAC 12 and take the next spot.
The reason I left the ACC out of it is this, the Playoff system we have now is totally political and all ESPN talks about it $EC and the B1G10 (OSU/MSU). FSU and Clemson look off and the rest of the league just doesn't get the attention some teams deserve. If there is any scenario where the good guys making it is this: Win every game, make it to the ACCCG against a ranked opponent and beat them too. In addition PAC12, B1G10, and $EC need to beat themselves up.
1. OSU/MSU winner.
2. Ole Miss/LSU winner vs UGA in SECCG. Winner goes.
3. ND
4. VT
Sadly, this is what will keep us out of the playoffs if we somehow run the table. Unless one of those teams takes a second loss, there's no way we get in over the loser of that one.
Disagree. Conference championships matter.
Not if it's VT winning a perceived weak ACC. Sad, yes.
Totally depends on the records of the other conference champs. I don't see any conference doubling up though.
Not if your ND
Not if my ND what?
gets me every time
This is the doomsday scenario for VT:
Win out, 11-1.
Beat someone in ACCCG 12-1
OSU loses to MSU, who wins Big Ten
Committee: So, do we want a 12-1 VT or an 11-1 OSU who beat us?
Obviously stuff would have to happen everywhere for that to be the decision they'd have to make, but if it came down to us and OSU, both with 1 loss...
Either that or a 12-1 VT against an 11-1 ND for that final spot.
I don't think we get chosen in either scenario.
But who else would already be in?
If you're saying Michigan State is in, then I think it would lean more towards VT, to avoid rematches (especially on a conference level). Also, if the B1G, Pac-12, and SEC are already represented, I think they would put in the ACC champ in, if the Big 12 champ is too far back. I don't think we'll have to worry about two teams from one conference until the Big 12 makes a CFP appearance.
That's a good point. People have suggested that two teams from one conference could get into the playoff, but the way I see it, it would take a mighty messy landscape of teams to make it happen. But I also do not really question anymore whether a team as highly hyped as this year's OSU team could be 'allowed' in without winning their conference, above other teams that won other conferences.
Yes, in my scenario, MSU would have been undefeated, won the Beg Tin, and gotten in already.
Would love to throw in 4 teams here, but its too hard.
Pac 12 and SEC will be nuts this year, and as for the BIG 12, don't sleep on Oklahoma. ACC and BIG 10 may have only undefeated squads (in conference for ACC)
I know it's easy to hate Alabama because everyone hates the best (and there is no denying they have been the most successful program in last 7-8 years). But they lost by 6 with a -5 turnover margin. That team is tough as hell and is unlikely to make that many mistakes again. They may well lose another game or two because the west is ridiculous, but don't count them out of the playoff picture just yet.
Through the first two games, I had Alabama as unquestionably the best team in the country, even without a QB or go to receiver. Then I saw the Ole Miss game, and it became clear to me that God does not want Alabama to have nice things. You cannot convince me that there was no divine intervention on the ridiculous TD catch for Ole Miss.
That was so ridiculous, one of the luckiest things I have ever seen.
My wife is a huge Bama fan. You have spoken true words about that lucky BS by Ole Miss. I've never seen anything like that. Ever.
I mean, similar thing happened last year on the game winning play by Auburn over Georgia. And with a play like that helping Auburn win, and helping Bama lose, I think it's safe to say Nick Saban has done something pretty egregious to earn the wrath of God. Maybe He is a Dolphins fan, and is still kinda salty over that debacle.
I was claiming divine intervention on that onside kick recovery.
Of all of the onside kick attempts I saw that weekend, why was that the only one that worked?
So great they have lost 7 games ranked as 1/2, the most of any team, since 2007.
To be fair, they've also been ranked 1 or 2 more than any other team in that stretch, so the stat makes sense.
1. OSU/MSU Winner weak schdule = they will be undefeated.
2. $eC winner - the bias is strong.
3. OU - I think they run the table.
4. VT/FSU - I think both enter Charlotte with a chance to earn a playoff spot. Lets hope for some magic.
5. Pac-12 gets left out this year with too many two loss teams.
Pick 1 - OSU OR MSU - Winner has undefeated record and is B10 champ
Pick 2 - UCLA - runs the table this year
Pick 3 - Ole Miss OR LSU OR UGA - a one-loss SEC Champ gets in
Pick 4 - TCU OR Baylor OR OU OR Notre Dame - B12 'champ' runs the table and gets in. If ND runs the table, they get this spot, regardless of OU/TCU/Baylor's record.
VT's best shot of getting in is:
OR ND and B12 'Champ' both get random loss, FSU wins out and VT beats FSU in ACCGC
Agree with just about everything here. Sure wish GT had played better against ND.
I'm pulling for Clemy to get the upset. I'll be in Clemson for the game so a win for the tigers would be A LOT of fun.
I graduated from Clemson in May and have lived in upstate SC my whole life. I will never pull for Clemson to win a big game, their fans are absolutely insufferable. That said, I will also be at the game.
Really!? I love their fans, probably my favorite fan base in cfb (other than ours of course). I feel like Clemson is more like VT than any other school I've been too.
No, no, no, no, no. No respect for other programs, believe they are on the same level as Alabama as a program. Expect to win the NC every year despite them having 1 ACC championship since 1991. Embarrassingly delusional. Their annual meltdowns bring great joy to my heart.
No doubt. They need to get that offense back on track.
1. OSU vs 4. VT ( re-match of year highest rated game ever on espn).
2. LSU vs . 3. Oregon
1. MSU
2. UCLA
3. LSU
4. Notre Dame
MSU: Will beat OSU I believe, no reason to lose to anyone else 70/30 MSU/OSU
UCLA: Has zero reason to lose to anyone on their schedule (other than they beat themselves), has a freshman phenom QB and a stout defense (sound familiar?)
Ole Miss: Only because they have LSU at home, and i'm still not confident about that pick. 60/40 Ole Miss/LSU
Notre Dame: they may suck, but so does everyone else on their schedule sooooooooooooooooooo...maybe they lose to Clemson since it's an away game?
Champion: UCLA
I think they drop one somewhere between Arizona, USC, and Stanford. If they can get through those three, they're golden.
I'd love nothing more than to see ND get left out at 11-1 because they're not in a conference. A guy can dream.
A true freshman QB will make plenty of true freshman mistakes. No way they run the table
If a true freshman is good enough to win the starting job, he's no different than redshirt freshman, and we've seen redshirt freshman win the title before. This weekend will be telling for UCLA.
1. Ohio State - I want to chose Michigan State, but (and hear me out here) their defense hasn't looked all THAT stellar this year. I know they beat a pretty good team in Oregon, but Oregon was also breaking in a new QB (with a fractured finger on his throwing hand from what I understand). I think given enough prep time, Ohio State has shown that their offense can be prolific (i.e. - when they played against us and if they settle on a starting QB *cough*Barrett*cough*) and their defense has been playing lights out. Again - I'll pick OSU here, but if MSU beats em out, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.
Alternate B1G pick - Michigan State
2. Ole Miss??? I think Alabama is the better team, Ole Miss got some lucky breaks this past weekend. Unfortunately for Alabama, they're in the same division, so they won't get to do a rematch and prove themselves. Although that team down in the Bayou or our maroon bros in Texas might give Ole Miss a run for their money.
Alternate SEC pick - Texas A&M.
3. UCLA - stout defense and a hell of a qb with that Rosen guy. PAC12 isn't looking THAT great this year (I started out with very high expectation for ASU, but they've let me down) Still have yet to see what Arizona is really made of.
Alternate PAC12 pick - none
4. Notre Dame - (and subsequently the hardest pick for me to make) - their linebackers are ridiculous. and their offense, despite having a backup qb, still looks good.
Alternate pick - FSU/Clem/GT
FSU if they run the table, same for Clemson. I believe a loss to ND wouldn't keep GT out if they could win the ACC in convincing fashion.
Leftout:
B12 - cannibalism. Baylor beats TCU and loses to Okla who loses to TCU. One loss, no conference championship game. No vote in.
We would need the rest of the ACC to show out against SEC during rivalry week (GT beating GA, Clem beating SC, FSU crushing UF, etc), go undefeated the rest of the season (GT, NC State, and Miami are gonna be tough tough tough wins), have FSU or Clemson go undefeated the rest of the season to meet us in the ACCCG, beat FSU/Clemson in the title game convincingly. I just can't imagine all that stuff happening.
That being said:
1) OSU - MSt looks really good, but I don't think they'll be able to contain the OSU attack. Urban is just mixing and matching pieces right now but the end of the season they are going to be an incredible offensive force.
2) T AM - I don't think Ole Miss is that good. They had a bunch of lucky things happen to beat Bama. A&M looks legit on both sides of the ball.
3) Notre Dame - USC/Stanford are not nearly as good as they have been in previous years and I don't think Clemson is really that good so I think they go undefeated the rest of the season. The trap game is probably against BC at the end of the season. BC's defense looks really good and perhaps by the end of the season they'll have figured things out to replace their starting QB. ESPN's wet dream would be to have ND get into the playoffs so if they are within sniffing distance of the playoffs, I can't imagine a scenario where they dont get a bid.
4) TCU - Oklahoma TCU will be a great game. OK actually looks good again but TCU looks better.
1. Ohio State- their Defense is scary and will keep any game fro being unmanageable for their O until they figure it out, until proven otherwise they remain the most dangerous team in the country, scary talented roster, scary good coach, and proven resume.
2. SEC West and SEC Champion either LSU or Ole Miss: Chavis needs more than 1 year and half a recruiting class to sort out TAMU. And LSU got their week 1 game canned. They were always going to win, but that is one less game of wear and tear on their players, and down the stretch we dont know how big that could eb in the meat of SEC play for them.
3. Whoever wins out between TCU, Baylor, OR UCLA. UCLA probably has the hardest path but I would circle them for a spot if they win convincingly this weekend at Arizona. While the middling programs in the Big XII seem to have found some more testicular fortitude this year. Doubtful either escapes WVU, TTU, OU, and KSU without a loss each, and then they have to play each other.
4. An Undefeated ND, or an ACC Champ with no more than 1 loss and a win over a Top 15 opponent in the ACCCG. CU, and FSU just need to win out, and for VT, GT, or Miami to be ranked for them to be good. The Coastal would need no win and at least 3 wins over ranked teams most likely.
OSU
LSU
Oklahoma
VT/UCLA/Stanford/FSU/Clemson?
It's really not crazy to think we can win the ACC especially if Brewer comes back and is not that rusty. I'm really worried about our D for some reason when we start conference play, this year may play out like the 2010 season when our O had to win us some games.
It's not crazy I already bought my ACCCG tickets.
I don't believe we will see 2 teams from one conference UNLESS the 2nd team in that conference (who presumably lost to the champion of that conference) is clearly, by consensus, better than 2 other conference champions.
I'm biased, but the only way Sparty is in the playoff is if they beat OSU in Cbus and run the table. People who are high on Sparty haven't watched their games (except Oregon - and they are assuming Oregon is good). Their defense is pretty shoddy behind a good DL. They have a nice offense with a decent running game and an experienced good QB. They will have to outscore really good teams - which violates the basic philosophy of the program. Dantonio without a rock-solid defense is going to lose the first time he comes against a team that can defend his predictable offense and can find the many holes in that defense. For that reason, I think Sparty will come to Cbus with a loss.
I love Ole Miss but this is September. I loved them last October too, but they didn't have enough depth to make it through November. I'm wait and see. If they are healthy and playing well when it's cold, I think they will come out of the SEC. I never count out the Bammers, and Georgia looks good right now. Those two will play in a few weeks. LSU or Texas A&M could come out of there too.
I'm leaning toward Clemson being the ACC contender, but FSU could be the team, and, of course, I'd love to see VT be in the running.
I like UCLA in the PAC, but wonder when Rosen will remember he is a frosh.
BXII: Oklahoma, TCU, and Baylor. I'm leaning toward the Sooners.
Notre Dame: see Ole Miss.
Do you also believe that the only way OSU makes it is to beat MSt?
Probably - although Ohio State gets some grace from last year's accomplishments, but it really depends on what we are comparing a one loss OSU to. Other one-loss conference champions? They would be out. Two-loss champions? Maybe. It also depends on how they lost and why (injuries, unusual circumstances, etc.)
With TCU and Baylor getting booted last year, I think the CFBPC will give the BXII every benefit of the doubt. I really like the idea of choosing "the four best teams", but we would be naive to believe there aren't conference politics involved in making that determination.
I'm really torn here...on the one hand I have to believe that the BXII will definitely get a team in simply because they didn't get a shot last year (there is something inherently wrong with having a 4 team playoff to determine the best team from 5 conferences....) but on the other hand I want to believe this could be an opportunity for the CFBPC to lay down the law and send a message to the BXII that to be seriously considered for a playoff berth a team needs to win a conference championship game....
I hear you. I think a lot of people feel like that. CFB is so weird because we have 4 Power 5 conferences with championship games, 1 without, and a few independents that don't.
I think it just boils down to resumes. A CCG could work for you or against you. The Big 12 had a chance to get 2 teams in last year if Oregon, Bama, or FSU lost and Ohio State looked mortal in their CG. It cost them because they tried to declare co-champs. No one knows what the committee would have done with Ohio State vs. a declared B12 champ. They would have probably gone with OSU anyway, but it's not a sure thing.
This year there will really be "one true champion" in the B12, so that will help them. If that team would play a CCG and lose, that would hurt their chances. If they won, it would be likely they would be in. At some point the best team in a conference is going to lose their CCG, and that conference is going to be left out, and then the B12 will look pretty smart.
Because of this CCG issue - and the inequity that can flow from it in both directions - I think we will soon see a Power 5 organization that takes over the administration of the game from the NCAA. There will be another round of conference re-alignment where the B12 will be forced to add 2 teams and have a CCG, and major independents like Notre Dame and BYU will be forced to join a conference. They will create an even playing field so that contenders will have all played the same number of games (weather cancellations excluded) and every conference champion will be crowned after winning a conference championship game.
If this doesn't happen, the inequities we have now will give a strong argument for the CFBP to expand to 8 teams - which the powers that be do not want to happen. That's why I think it will happen.
I think 4 is perfect because it creates perpetual controversy (and, therefore, interest) and it creates team/inter-conference competition/rivalries. Getting left out or not is a powerful motivation and it creates drama. That said, an 8 team field would accommodate every conference champion, plus create the opportunity for a great non-power 5 team or a 2 or 3 loss team that became great during the season to compete for a national championship. But understand that a "win the CG and we are in" scenario takes some of the drama and excitement out of the CG weekend as opposed to a situation where a team has to win and then compete with 4 other teams.
1St seed - BIG champ - OsU
2nd - SEC champ - OmU
3rd - texans conference Champ - OU
4th - PAC Champ - OU
winner - O?U
1. LSU - Leonard Fournette continues to roll
2. OSU / MSU - Tossup
3. Arizona - Rich Rod gets in (and we never hire him, but we end up beating him in the playoffs)
4. VT - Duh
*** NOTE: Baylor and TCU again cancel each other out and nobody really takes them seriously anyway...tic
You mean Baylor and TCU are too busy taking jabs at whatever their players have gotten arrested for lately?
1 Ohio State v 4 VT
2 LSU v 3 TCU
Ohio State beats Michigan State and goes unbeaten. LSU drops one, but wins the SEC. TCU drops a game at OU, but still wins the Big XII. VT wins 12 straight. Stanford wins the Pac-12, but has multiple losses.
Welp _ for those, like me, that chose UCLA... You may want to reconsider. It's just been announced that Myles Jack will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. That's three of their defensive starters I believe...in only three weeks.
They should lose their final defensive starter just in time for the last week of the regular season, then.
