Maybe I've been spoiled with the content this website provides but I've been searching multiple Notre Dame fan sites and articles to figure out what exactly their defense did to defend the GT triple option, with no success.
Everything I've seen references that they hired a "special coaching assistant" (Bob Elliot), whose sole purpose is to figure out a way to defend the triple option, but nothing describes how they did it. I didn't get a chance to watch the game and all of the replays/highlights only show the scoring plays, so they aren't much help.
Maybe this is a job for French, but does anyone know or have read anything that talks about the schemes ND used against GT? Holding GT to only 7 points for 59 minutes is an impressive feat and I'm intrigued to know what they did to accomplish that.
