OT: How many of y'all are GoT Fans?

Even seen every episode of the series, and am 400 pages through the first book. I'm still in awe and dumbfounded by last night's episode.

hahaha, i did my best not to spoil it for people i know who havent read a storm of swords. even knowing that last night was coming it was still shocking and depressing to see it happen.

i swear mrs bch and i didnt even say anything to each other for like 5 minutes after the show ended. finally, i looked at her and said, "well that just turned into a tarantino flick."

Reactions to last night's episode from non-book readers vs. book readers

I have it on the DVR:

LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!

I have also read all the books, so I knew it was coming. When I saw the episode description on the cable guide earlier in the day, I said to myself "There are going to be a lot of upset people tomorrow". I was really looking forward to my wifes reaction and it was priceless! Lots of "Noooooo!" and "They can't!".

Bob: What would ya say ya do here?

Brad: I already told you! I iron out the minutiae so Justin doesn't have to. I have people skills dammit! What the hell is wrong with you people?

I'm just hoping George R.R. Martin is able to finish the series. I've read all the books, twice. Might be my favorite series of all time, and it's not even complete yet.

The show has done a fantastic job in it's own right as well. Last night's episode was brilliant

Obligatory check-in. My biggest concern is that the television series will fast outpace the completion of the books. Don't want the tail wagging the dog.

you can tell grrm gets annoyed in interviews when he's asked about that. i believe hbo has said the show will last seven seasons. honestly they could skip past a bunch of a feast for crows but maybe we'll learn all about all those damn greyjoys in the show while martin spins his wheels.

i'm more anxious for the winds of winter to come out just to see what happened to jon snow!

Speaking of skipping Feast, I find Oberyn Martell's absence glaring (see also: Belwas, Hoat, Mummers, and practically everyone north of the Wall, maybe even Coldhands/Benjen). But the more I see things hitting the editing room floor, the more likely I think it is that House Martell will be relegated to a very peripheral story line.

I really hope you're wrong about that. The Red Viper vs the Mountain was one of the best parts of any of the books, and you can't really have him come in and be a huge hero if people aren't already invested in him.

They'd have to create/manufacture alternate pretext for Oberyn to be in King's Landing, then. No Martells in sight and Tyrion/Sansa have already wed with the next wedding VERY near.

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) put up a pretty funny reaction Vine:

I really liked the part where Bob Benson was blessed by Odin and used the Tesseracht to defeat the Jesuit plot to blow a hole in the wall.

I was salty because I went on twitter before watching and Terrell Suggs ruined it for me. That was my first mistake.

Yeah, as much as I tried to keep my Sensory Deprivator 5000 on, it just wasn't enough (I am actually avoiding reading the books because I wanted the show to be a surprise).

By the time I had a chance to watch the show (barely 24 hours after airing), I had already figured out what was going to happen. The first hint was actually in the GoT/ACC mashup thread, but that combined with all of the "non-spoiler" spoilers that my friends posted was enough. Lesson learned.

The Onion wrote a great article regarding the episode: http://www.theonion.com/articles/oh-shit-i-totally-forgot-that-happens,3...
