Wheel of Destiny, turn turn turn. Please tell us something that we might learn.
Here's a summary of what each ACC team needs for a chance to go to Charlotte. I'm even putting in the crazy, highly unlikely scenarios, just because it's the ACC, where anything is possible, even in October.
Of course, all situations are predicated by the teams in question winning out.
Coastal:
Duke, Pitt, UNC, and Miami still control their destinies. The first three are undefeated in conference play, while Miami only has the cross divisional loss. That means that if they beat everyone else in the division, they still pick up all of the head-to-heads.
VT and UVA both need two Pitt losses to regain control.
Georgia Tech needs a laundry list of things to fall their way:
-actually win a game.
-four losses each from Duke and UNC.
-an additional loss each by Miami, VT, and UVA.
-two additional Pitt losses
That's just to gain control of their own destiny outright. Odds are, GT's only chance to win the division would be a total #goacc style multi way tie, which would have fewer requirements, but end up having much more complications.
Since Duke and Pitt are leading the division at 2-0 in conference, it's still going to be a few weeks before GT would be mathematically eliminated.
Atlantic:
FSU, Clemson, and Syracuse are undefeated in conference play.
Louisville needs two Clemson losses.
Wake Forest needs three losses each from Syracuse and FSU.
NC State needs FSU, Clemson, Syracuse, and Louisville to all lose an additional game.
Boston College needs Clemson, Syracuse, Louisville, and Wake Forest to lose an additional game, while FSU loses two additional games.
For anyone interested, a full summary of all conference races is up at my blog.

One of these is not like the others
If someone told me that at one point this season Syracuse would be undefeated in conference play and Georgia Tech would be winless, I would've lost it.
For sure, would have had me like:
Yeah...I know, Clemson hasn't beaten Wake Forest yet....
Can yesterday's Wake BC game replace last year's Wake VT game as worst game ever?
Wishful thinking, but last year was worse.
See, it's that white windbreaker.
Confirmed...
For some reason, it seemed like a much bigger fail when Beamer did it over a 0-0 tie (with Wake Forest) that led to an overtime that VT lost.
It demonstrated how far the program had fallen.
It seems kind of appropriate that Beamer's fists are closed, each creating a "0" shape, while Clawson is pointing with ones, because they won.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for mashing up these pictures. Now if we can find somebody to Gif
God-transform them...Agreed, Boston College still managed to get almost 200 yards rushing, so there was at least some kind of offense that game.
How many times did VT cross the 50?
Wake had five (5!!!) first downs ...... And won!
Not when someone scored in regulation.
I don't recall a Wake VT game last year
It was that weekend when all VT fans woke up and felt like they'd been hit in the head with a rock.
After the past few years they are going to have to break out the concussion protocols for fans.
I regret that I have but one leg to give for this Animaniacs reference.
