This is my first post here.....Ive 'lurked' on this site for about a year now, and I've come to realize that I just had to join the community here.....both the hosts and the members are all not only knowledgeable about all the detailed discussions, but there's also the way that you members never come across as feeling that full of yourselves and respecting others opinions, no one seems to be NATT, and quite frankly, you guys are some witty dudes...some of the photoshop stuff, gif's, etc that you guys come up with - I don't have words to describe the brilliance of so much of the content...I wish i was savvy enough to come up with some of that shit....
Anyway....i cant wait for #BEATBAMA, and just for good measure, even my garden is ready.....the pic. below is of the ornamental lillies i planted last fall which just bloomed...bought 'em sight unseen based on a picture thinking they looked like O&M colors (my wife just shook her head when i told her why i picked them)......I'd say they wound up pretty much spot on....

looking forward to interacting with all of you....

Welcome! My wife and I just bought a house and I was thinking about doing some landscaping. I think you found the perfect flowers. Mind sharing where I could get those?
I don't know where the poster got those, but they look like orange asiatic lilies.
Fish- congrats on the new house! - Thanks for the welcomes everyone....they are Lilium asiaticum: 'Tango Orange Art' - I bought them from a local garden club fundraiser sale, but i looked online and you can get them from a ton of sellers on the web (just google the name), or maybe locally depending on what kind of stuff your nursery stocks.....mine seem to have more maroon than orange, but i'm sure all that kind of stuff has to do with environment, cross pollenating, etc...the great thing about all of these types of asian lillies (i have a bunch of other varieties) is that they multiply new bulbs like crazy every year...each bulb will create 4-10 new bulbs each year....so you can let a cluster keep expanding, or take some in the fall and start a new cluster going, or give away to another deserving Hokie! Hope this helps......
So I just found out that my new neighbors are Bama fans. Maybe I should just plant my entire yard in these things. Until I can get them planted, other Hokie decor will have to suffice. Things may get dirty on 8-31...
Definitely some awesome flowers. Perfect for a Blacksburg garden.
Damn, would have been a great post right before mothers day. Please pass on the type you found. And welcome!
There are also these....

I know Merrifield Gardens carries them.
Welcome to the discussion. Note: you get a lot of turkey legs when you post creative images. Does anyone know who the elder statesmen (stateswomen) of the site are? Who are our KeyPlay Yodas?
That's a good question. It says the date a user joined in their profile, but I think I am going to add something on each comment that says something like "Member for: 2 years 2 months" or something like that.
On an unrelated site suggestion note: Have you given anymore thought to either allowing someone to remove an accidental -1 vote or possibly adding a confirmation pop up when someone clicks a -1? I accidentally -1'd someone the other day on my phone.
Yeah I'm going to add that in. I've just been incredibly busy between my job, shipping shirts, and everything else. I have a bunch of new updates I want to push out. Thanks for bringing it up again though.
Jeez Joe, are you trying to say that work is getting in the way of TKP? You could just stop sleeping...or working.
This is a good idea, but I was going in another direction. So often, across the country, we see college-age kids do stupid and disrespectful things. Sometimes it is nice to hear from alums who are actually older (aka more life experience as opposed to more keyplay experience). For example, I have my own opinions about the Michael Holmes situation (which I've expressed in the Holmes thread), but I'd also like to be able to hear and weigh the opinions of others based on, literally, their maturity and wisdom. No offense to anyone, but I tend to hear these types of things from people who are much older than I am. I would love, for example, to see Michael Holmes return to the team, but someone who isn't as Hokieball obsessed as me might have a better perspective.
More to your point, though, I do tend to weigh the opinions of posters with higher turkey leg numbers as more measured and experienced. But I'm more looking for sage wisdom from our elder hokies.
Oh gotcha, you meant age. Reading through this gave me a good idea of the different ages of people on the site: http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2013/june/12/iwasatvtbefore.
Right. There's always the 'Class of' info on the profile, too.
From one Mid-Atlantic Hokie Architect to another, Welcome!
Welcome to the club!
Welcome to the best site on the web. Go Hokies
Welcome aboard!
Welcome, and have fun with it!
