Mainly, I am a firm believer of wearing orange in the summer through September, then maroon. I thought the logo looked the best on an orange shirt. Also, I wanted to contrast against 'Bama fans in crimson.

Fair enough, but I don't think you know what the costs associated with making the shirts are. I want a high quality product, so I am going to use 100% cotton name brand tees, and screen them so they hold up better through time. Not only that but I paid for the design, and have invested countless hours into making this happens. I looked at what other bloggers sell their shirts for and it's $20-$30. So, while I wish everything could be free, good things cost money and time to make.

While I understand your down vote was an accident (Ive been guilty of that while on my cell phone), youre a madman to play with your turkey legs like this. I would protect mine in a safe if possible. I even had a party when I hit 100 legs, true story.
You do however bring up a good point about undoing votes, especially down votes.

It's something I'm looking to enable before the season. I know some people miss-voted on their cell phones, so I spaced them out more. I might do the same on desktop now too. Either way, whenever I see it, I always give a +1 to even people out. :)

Or just buy me two turkey legs, take a picture of me with the bones hanging out of my mouth and fragments all over my face, and screen print the hell out of it. But for my money, Joe's shirts rule.

Any thought to doing this in a technical/workout fabric? I have a couple classic VT nike dri-fit t's but I'm always looking to represent when out for a run.

If you search #BEATBAMA on twitter, you can start to find a whole lot of butthurt Bama fans getting all mad about a T-shirt and it brings a smile to my face. Thanks, Joe!

If only you had outsourced this job to China. Just to ship this shirt to me would cost more than the shirt itself.
It may be worth it, however. I was in the subway the other day (wearing a TT jersey) and some guy came out of nowhere and said "Fuck hokies, roll tide!!!!" ---> Being in China I was so stunned... I couldn't even respond before he exited the train because I was in a state of disbelief.

haha --> Actually, there are a lot of SEC people here (For some reason) ---> I saw some LSU fans watching the bowl game against Clemson on their laptops in Starbucks. The expressions on their faces were classic.

So I wore my shirt out last night for the first time since I got it. All my Tech friends loved it. Even a uva friend liked it, but made sure to tell me we had no chance of winning (but he also thinks uva will beat both Oregon and Tech). The best part of the night though was when a drunk girl thought I was making a political statement by wearing a Beat Obama shirt.

#BEATBAMA will be traveling across the country from DC to Boston and finally Portland, where I will meet up with a friend who is an Alabama grad. Can't wait to see her reaction when she picks me up from the airport.

Saw the shirts in alumni hall in the new river valley mall today. I got really giddy when I spotted them. They look great! I bought mine through TPK to support the site.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I would envision a TKP keychain looking like the new website logo made out of the finest/loudest metal, with an add option to weld on a bottle opener. Possibly a VT or TKP somewhere on it

No disagreement here. I do wish, though, given our reputation as an engineering school, that we could come up with something even more functional. Maybe a metal TKP keychain that gobbles.
Randoph Hall, get on it.

$66.50 for the sign and Hokie stone? Hell yea, I've been trying find one of those for awhile. Gonna be great to put that above my door and slap it on my way out everyday.

When I first saw this during a football game (I forget which one), I had to do a double-take...literally....I rewound the DVR and watched it again....then I told my wife that we needed to go look at Hyundais.

I totally flipped out when I first saw this commercial. I saw all the maroon and orange in the hall, the maroon garage, the maroon car and thought, "Look, they're even slapping the threshold, this would fit perfectly as a Hokie-themed commercial". Boom.

I was visiting Tech in the summer 10 years ago and there was construction going on. I flagged down a worker and asked him if he could spare a chip of Hokie stone for an alum and he proceeded to heft an 8" square of Hokie stone over the construction barrier.....I make my family rub the stone before every game......

Thanks for making these up Joe. Just ordered mine and will make sure to wear it anytime I'm around anyone from Bama... Just found out I have a gal in my Sq that must see it once it comes in!

Just an idea I'm throwing out there. How much would a coozie with that logo cost to make and sell? I'd probably buy one of those to tailgate with at the game.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
They cost about a buck to make with a minimum order of 375. Then they need to be shipped. Then taxes need to be paid, etc... It's a significant time investment to make for me right now, and I balk at selling out with the game being right around the corner. However, I if you guys want koozies, I'll keep it in mind, and perhaps I'll use a different, non game specific, design.

FYI: For those of you who haven't ordered a shirt, but are planning on doing so, there are < 100 in stock, and at this time I am not planning on another reorder, so my suggestion would be to order now.

Important question: why aren't these maroon?
Mainly, I am a firm believer of wearing orange in the summer through September, then maroon. I thought the logo looked the best on an orange shirt. Also, I wanted to contrast against 'Bama fans in crimson.
Your logic. I like that shit.
Love it Joe & staff but $25 is a bit steep. Regardless, I'll buy one, just wanted to throw that out there.

So, if they're nice shirts, they're most likely be pre-shrunk then, right? This information is critical to my size selection.
TO: 757Hokie I accidently clicked the downvote. I'm giving you full permission to downvote this post to get me back.
To Joe: This brings up a question... can it be made where you can take your down vote back by clicking the upvote?

Good Guy Joe.
Here is my upvote.
Or just buy me two turkey legs, take a picture of me with the bones hanging out of my mouth and fragments all over my face, and screen print the hell out of it. But for my money, Joe's shirts rule.
this is a much better idea than saving money by not buying/wearing pants!
Is the Hokie Bird wearing a do-rag??
I believe he is.
Any thought to doing this in a technical/workout fabric? I have a couple classic VT nike dri-fit t's but I'm always looking to represent when out for a run.
These shirts will go great with my orange and maroon Zubas! Thanks guys.
99' Hokie

They're happening. The order form should be live by Monday morning.
I feel like the order form should be linked here:
http://thekeyplay.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/beatbama-...
Also - the logo on the shopify page is really sweet:
Where can I get a key like that? Or a whole keychain full of them?
would look pretty sweet on a shirt as well. . .
Would be a cool advertisement to put on the top middle of the back of the beatbama shirt as well
hows about a tshirt with this logo on it! LETS GO!!!
How's the sizing of these shirts? Anyone got them can post up a picture. Not sure whether to get a small or medium for a girl
If you search #BEATBAMA on twitter, you can start to find a whole lot of butthurt Bama fans getting all mad about a T-shirt and it brings a smile to my face. Thanks, Joe!

I'm surprised a bama grad could find China on a map, let alone figure out how to get there...
haha --> Actually, there are a lot of SEC people here (For some reason) ---> I saw some LSU fans watching the bowl game against Clemson on their laptops in Starbucks. The expressions on their faces were classic.
How about this as a car window decal?
The next project is to polish these up and start printing and selling them.
We need a decade of dominance shirt for the UVA game.
Got a shout-out in an article that came out yesterday: http://ourtwobits.com/the-way-too-early-week-1-college-football-matchup-previews/
they say its alabama vs virginia
Maybe that's why it said "mediocre acc team." It all makes sense now.
Does her left arm/wrist look like it's bending the wrong way to anyone else?
There's a lot of stuff about her that could be described as wrong way.
That might be the most bias article I've ever read. The writer must feel real witty replacing the 'l' on every team he doesn't like with 'LOL'.
Also, does he not realize its just as easy to say "FLOLrida" as it is to say "FLOLrida State"...?

The best part of the night though was when a drunk girl thought I was making a political statement by wearing a Beat Obama shirt.
Considering the Hokie Bird is standing on an elephant, that shirt is predicting a party change for Obama as well. Who new the shirt was so political?
Just ordered my shirt! Can't wait to show it off to my fellow Hokies! Thanks for doing this!!
Got it on Wednesday and will be wearing it downtown tonight. It's a pretty well-constructed shirt, and, well, #BEATBAMA!
Please let folks know that if they don't want to wait for one to ship, they can also pick the shirt up at Alumni Hall in Christiansburg Mall!
Yup, we would really appreciate word of mouth help by either directing people to our online store, or local folks to Alumni Hall.
#BEATBAMA will be traveling across the country from DC to Boston and finally Portland, where I will meet up with a friend who is an Alabama grad. Can't wait to see her reaction when she picks me up from the airport.
"Wait...what the hell???"
then
"I respect it, but I don't like it..."
Worth it.
Saw the shirts in alumni hall in the new river valley mall today. I got really giddy when I spotted them. They look great! I bought mine through TPK to support the site.
Where can i get an official TKP Key-chain to shake with the rest of my keys on 3rd downs this season?
If there is an official TKP keychain, we should collaborate to design it to be as noisy as possible. Engineer the noise into the keychain itself
I would envision a TKP keychain looking like the new website logo made out of the finest/loudest metal, with an add option to weld on a bottle opener. Possibly a VT or TKP somewhere on it
that would be awesome
No disagreement here. I do wish, though, given our reputation as an engineering school, that we could come up with something even more functional. Maybe a metal TKP keychain that gobbles.
Randoph Hall, get on it.
Not sure how reliable this website is...never bought anything but I remembered seeing the key play keychain.

$66.50 for the sign and Hokie stone? Hell yea, I've been trying find one of those for awhile. Gonna be great to put that above my door and slap it on my way out everyday.
One of my friends has one above his man cave entrance. I slap it every time! LOL
Kinda reminds me of the VT Hyundai commercial...
Never understood why they didn't use Sandman, though....probably couldn't secure the right to use the song.
Also, I wish that Hyundai would have done something more creative with the license plates...something like LOLUVA.
How in heck have I never seen this????? Thanks for posting!
Boom.
I did the exact same thing, I saw the colors and them hitting the top of the frame and I just freaked out and thought they stole the hokies entrance
Hey Joe, could you post a picture of just the logo on the shirt? I wanna make it my computer background.
got an email this morning....my shirt will be at the house tomorrow! Can't wait to show it off!!! :)
Well, did you get it?!?!
Yes, sir!! Got it Saturday. Going to wash it tonight so I can wear it to work tomorrow. :)
Hey joe can you #shiptoafghanistan?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please email me at aaronseth28@aol.com
Somebody send this gal a BEATBAMA shirt!
Thanks for making these up Joe. Just ordered mine and will make sure to wear it anytime I'm around anyone from Bama... Just found out I have a gal in my Sq that must see it once it comes in!
Mine just came in yesterday... thanks for the super quick turnaround Joe! It looks great!
Just an idea I'm throwing out there. How much would a coozie with that logo cost to make and sell? I'd probably buy one of those to tailgate with at the game.
Great idea. I'd buy the shit out of some coozies.
The main issue is finding 374 other people to buy them.
count me in...now you just need 373 :)
me and the girlfriend and a few other friends... 368?
I'd buy one. Probably easier to sell those than t-shirts based on cost.
Not sure if you've run numbers on them before, but if you have, how much-ish would they cost? I'd gladly buy $20 worth to support the site.
i second that
They cost about a buck to make with a minimum order of 375. Then they need to be shipped. Then taxes need to be paid, etc... It was just a suggestion, I didn't mean to put you on the spot. I would be interested in one if you come up with another design at some point though.
TKP koozies would be awesome! Would totally buy one.
Cool, you da man!
I'd buy some for sure
FYI: For those of you who haven't ordered a shirt, but are planning on doing so, there are < 100 in stock, and at this time I am not planning on another reorder, so my suggestion would be to order now.
Got mine yesterday. Thanks for the super fast shipping, Joe!
Just got mine. You can ship that one down here to Alabama. I will wear it with pride and give answer to all the haters down here.
can someone with better photoshop skills than me, make me a nWo logo except with bCo instead so I can personalize my shirt for the game in ATL?
