Are these new college basketball rules going to affect them negatively? It could have just been early season rust, but that didn't look like the UVA team I'm used to watching. This team looked sloppy. They're were allowing GW to move the ball on them and get a solid amount of open looks. It was weird seeing the Hoos give up 45% from the field and they put GW on the line A TON. It's really early in the season but right now, they don't look like the national contender the preseason polls made them out to be.
They also went 5 of 20 from three so they were pretty cold all night.

Atlantic 10 is going to be scrappy this year.
The Atlantic 10 is always underrated as a basketball conference. I just feel bad for URI, E.C. Matthews their best player was lost for the year in their opener.

And Georgetown lost to Raddy in double overtime on Saturday. This season is off to a wild start.

And we lost to *gulp* Alabama State. Nothing to see here.
yeah but we weren't ranked. We're not even supposed to finish better than 13 in the ACC
GW has a chance to do some serious damage this year.
Side note: GW fans chanted, "Overrated!" and then went on to rush the floor. Kinda makes you scratch your head a bit, but whatever.
Well, I mean, they are. UVA will always be overrated at everything they do. They could win the NCAA title and they'd still suck.

Yep, I never did understand the "overrated" chant. It just devalues your team's accomplishment in beating them. Hate me some UVA, though, so it capped off a great sports weekend for us here at Chez Fish.
UVA plays a very boring brand on basketball. Pass it around the entire shot clock till one of the big men have favorable position on the post or a good shooter is wide open.
The 30-second shot clock has to be affecting them. I think they'll adjust, but the fact that we play them early when we get into ACC play is exciting, not to mention it's at home.

Was at that game last night. It was too wonderful. UVA was quick to put GW in the bonus each half and did not want to make shots.
And just like that I don't feel so bad about dropping our opener...
