I know this is a little late; was a busy week and took me a while to get this up. Either way, I'm sure the most UVa play ever will help pass the time until Thursday night.

Awesome
It does make my Monday better watching this guy trying to catch that punt with his face
Not only that, but that was at the end of they game when they were down 6 points with little time remaining. That is #souva.
Yeah, that aw with
2 mins left, down 6 midfield. That puts the epic in epic fail.
At UVA... The players are taught to fear the football.
Figured I would check out to see how this game was going. Turned it on, no more than two seconds later this happened. I laughed out loud and turned it off.
Still laughing...
Priceless, perfect, poignant and predictable. Does it make me a bad person to enjoy watching UVA lose? I hope not, cuz I do not intend to stop.
And to think that I could have gone there instead, but for grace of God I chose Tech. As an old pilot friend once told me, "I'd rather be lucky than good."
UVa is my second favorite football team. Don't deny it - if you went to Tech and/or are from Virginia, you have friends and/or family that went to UVa. Therefore, I do not enjoy watching UVa lose unless it is to Virginia Tech.
With that disclaimer aside, this clip is quintessential UVa (the only one more so would be the woman in the stands trying to get the rest of the crowd into the game...or the scoreboard after the VT/UVa football game last year)
how can you not enjoy watching uva lose?
I have to respectfully disagree. I am from Virginia and I do have family/friends that went to/go to UVa; however, I find nothing but pleasure watching them flounder (and flounder they do!). It's as easy for me to root against the likes of Al Groh, Mike London, Pete Gillen, Dave Leitao, Tony Bennett, etc. as it is for me to root against the Pittsburgh Penguins (#GOCAPS). Witnessing the likes of Jameel Sewell get put on the turf by Kam Chancellor, laughing at the sideshow that has become Tiki Barber's career, and hating anything that looks/sounds like Zeglinski is a hobby of mine.
I understand where you're coming from but there is a very large portion of Virginians (I'd say majority) that are current students or alumni that would scoff at the idea that they should root for UVa unless they're playing Tech. There isn't a bone in my body that cheers for UVa in any respect. And if you are in that minority that finds yourself cheering for UVa, watch this video and come back from the Dark Side.
This is
a comedy classic!
What the ...
Fleck?
I don't get how people have such a dislike for UVa. They should not be a rival - they are a COMPLETELY different school than Virginia Tech, and both schools complement each other well. We do engineering, architecture, agriculture, math/science, etc. and they business, English, law, liberal arts, etc.
In reality, I consider West Virginia a rival, and I can firmly say that I dislike everything that they are. Furthermore, UNC should be UVa's rival.
Agree
UVa is not technically a rival. We would both have to be wanting the same thing.
It's a rivalry
Hokies want to win the Coastal
loluva wants to win the Coastal
Same thing
In State Rivals
What about Ga. Tech and Ga.? Alabama and Auburn? Michigan and Michigan State? Stanford and USC? South Carolina and Clemson? I dont think because you are in the same state and different/similar schools means you can't be rivals.
It is the differences that make the rivalry.
We value different things. Its why democrats hate republicans and vice versa. Its not because one of them has a better national health care plan. its because one of the values a national health care plan and the other doesn't.
The schools who do what VT does have more of a kinship for each other.
Because we share values.
Family feud
My sister goes to uva and to be honest that makes me want them to love even more. Bragging rights are a big deal.
Same type of thing where you usually want your best friends favorite pro teams to suck. It's always fun to make fun when you're good and they're not.
UVA....SMH
It's great we have that school to put things in perspective when things get really bleak in BBurg...
I have a friend
who is a fellow VT grad. He made the statement after last year's VT-UVA game (38-0, bro) that you want your rival to be very competitive, and that it's hard to consider it a rivalry game if you win every year.
I fall into the camp of those who consider UVA being 0-12 a sign that all in the universe is in order.
Being a Charlottesville area resident, I always find it interesting how myopic and introspective wahoos are. It's even reflected in the local news coverage (which I have dubbed "All-wahoo, All the Time"). Local tv station sports, for example. Typical sports segment on the local news, on a Saturday that UVA is on a bye week, there is a World Series game, a big Nascar weekend, and a ton of other college football, national stuff going on. Their stories include a run down of UVA women's field hockey, UVA swimmers, probably a story on what Ryan Zimmerman is doing in the off-season (because he's a former UVA player, you know). It's almost like no sports story gets on the air without the words "former UVA" in it. The script is probably cleared through the UVA SID office. It's amazing.
So it's always entertaining here to see the locals endure a season like UVA is having. It's a kind of salve for the Hokie soul.
Strong Rivals
Usually I think its good to have a strong rival, but I just want UVA to lose every game.
UVA story
Not related to football, but I went to UVA for Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in 2007, after the concert I saw some guys wearing a Chili Peppers shirt, I was trying to be nice (I had no VT gear on) so I was like hey man that concert was awesome huh. I swear this kid looked at me and said in a dead serious tone "you weren't there".
At the moment, I decided that I'm not wearing Hokie goggles, UVA really does suck.
I haven't been back.
I grew up there
....Its not UVA its just the Charlottesville area. Women are crazy and there are alot of hipsters / asshats. Trust me there is a reason I went to school and now live in Ohio and only see my parents once a year
Live in Ohio as well
What part of Ohio to reside? I live in SE Ohio myself.
cbus
Me and all the buckeye fans
Just made a GIF of one of my favorite LOLUVA moments.
DJ SMASH

sorry for the glitch at the end..i'll work on a better version
If Tech loses every game EXCEPT beating LOLUVA at the end of the season, its still OK in my book.
Arrested for buying designer water at LOLUVA:
Zima drinking is so 1990s: Now they drink designer water:

I made these after 38-0. Let's have a look inside the ol' time machine:
I think the best part about that game is that one of my friends goes to UVA and he was talking so much trash leading up to the game. He came over to my house to watch and left by halftime. According to him he had something else to do, probably had to go cry or something.
UVA fan leaving by half-time. You don't say.
A Classic for the Ages
Can't tell you how many times I've watched this
