He was also given a rating of 6.9 ("Eventual Starter") on a 9 point scale. This is more a testament to the lack of quality TEs in this year's draft than Bucky being expected to be an all star NFL player.
I think Bucky will do well in the NFL but I think he made the right decision to come back for a year. I expect to see that rating of 6.9 to be higher in next year's draft.

Bucky is still a work in progress, I think. It seems like his ceiling is incredible and agree that Fuente's offense, if it all goes smoothly, will accent his skills and give us all a more complete picture of his potential. He's really good now, but I believe this will be the year that Bucky turns into a superstar.

I found it curious that he wasn't in any of the pictures from Fuente's meeting with the Corps yesterday. Now this news. Perhaps I am reading too much into a couple photos.

Disappointing but with Durkin moving to TE we have a lot of guys on scholarship for very limited reps. Will be interesting to see how Fuente utilizes his tight ends, given that we have so few receivers maybe they will be more involved in the passing game

I'd say if you want your TE to put up a 3 catch 35 yard performance than he is your man.
How many games this year did he have multiple catches in the first half then disappear from the game altogether. Some of that had to be playcalling, so of his effort and double teams probably led to Ford and Cam being left alone, but I'd like to see him earn all this praise and draft stock speculation by having a solid year throughout.
(Yep: I'm aware it's only his 3rd year at the position)

I think that "bringing up the tattoo" should be titled "Gobblewin's Law" -- that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will bring up the God's Gift tattoo.
Based on comments of the coaches for the QBs battling for the starting job and the impending transfer of Kline, its all but confirmed at this point that he is a TE going forward. And he'll probably be an athletic one at that.

Easy to speculate when he is not there. I am sure Fuente will help him put up cartoonish numbers this year and that should help his stock
Leg for "cartoonish numbers"....and the thought of Bucky getting cartoonish numbers....and cuz it's Friday
And cause it is off-season.
Dare we say "Cartoonish Plurals" numbers.....
Love that guy

It's hard to take this serious, they only have him listed at 6'5" for crying out loud
Maybe are measuring his growth rate? I bet that's the amount he grew between the two times they measured.

If I were to grade myself based on my productivity during the work week:
Monday: 5.0
Tuesday: 5.9
Wednesday: 6.5
Thursday: 7.8
Friday: 3.5
I watch a thousand times, this movie
Still can't get enough.
Favorite line from that movie

Good thing, cause were losing another TE
http://virginiatech.247sports.com/Bolt/Virginia-Tech-Tight-End-Expected-...
That surprises me, given how involved he was in the Corps.
This is very surprising.
What part of the philosophy would be bad for a TE?
The part where you don't get playing time.
Texas A&M has no TEs on scholarship and they have a Corps...

Noooooooooooo! Not Kalvin Cline! I can't live without more "well-dressed" jokes :(

Well, it was the same staff that afforded Kalvin Cline 3 catches for 35 yards........... for the entire year. Unebelievable
IMHO I think Malleck's play had more to do with that.
Shame to lose Cline when he could have played a bigger role in the offense. Hope Durkin fills in nicely.
18 comments in and we haven't broken into the "God's Gift" tattoo debate, yet. Nice.
That's Bucky though...
EDIT: oops this isn't the kalvin cline thread...

(based of of Godwin's Law, of course)
Is Durkins move to tight end official?
Yes it was made last year. Looks like the new coaches are sticking with it.

I'm happy he's back. I'm guessing he'll do better in the draft next year anyway.
