OT: SEC Football vs. ACC Basketball

Just noticed six of the teams in the sweet sixteen are ACC schools.

I'm going to go ESPN talking head on y'all: Which is more dominant, ACC Basketball or SEC Football?

Nick Saben and Coach K both have 5 national Championships

The fact that Butler played in 2 Division 1 NCAA National Championship games shows how much a playoff helps out. If there were a 16/12 team playoff in football I think the SEC might loose some of there championships. Until then its all equal

Worth noting, through 2 rounds:
A10: 2-3
AAC: 1-3
ACC: 12-1
B10: 7-4
B12: 6-4
Big East: 5-5
MVC: 2-2
P12: 3-6
SEC: 3-1

It's pretty impressive what the ACC has done.

Best case scenario is 6 losses (with 7 teams in the tourney). The question is how many wins. Last year with Duke winning it all, was 17-5. If 5 teams (ACC is the better seed in 4 matchups) win in the Sweet 16, the standings will already be 17-2 before Elite 8 is played, but the work is cut out for them.

If you go by seeding, Syracuse is getting a lot of help to the Elite 8.

All those non-ACC schools? THEY AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY PAWL.

Refuse to be a part of the basketball chest thumping until we are contributing to the tournament greatness.

Hopefully that happens next year. But for now, I'm just hoping for the Hoos to lose and then looking forward to spring sports and sorting practice to start up.

I have no problem being a part of the chest bumping now as it speaks to the level of competition we faced all season long. Not only that but we finished better in the regular season, came into the acc tournament higher and finished better than some of the acc teams in the big dance. And while I say that, I see this team only continuing to improve next year.

He's no good to me dead.

VT beat one of the number one seeds in the NCAA tournament.

Just sayin'.

Not arrived, but headed in the right direction.

I thought when Alabama wins a national title, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State could claim that title as their own.

Aren't those the new rules?

We could see all 6 teams move on to the Elite 8 after Thursday and Friday. Probably will not happen, but would be cool.

It would be 2016 ACC conference play, part duex.

Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

I'm just proud of the fact that (with the exception of Duke) VT gave every single one of those ACC teams fits in the regular season.

As recently as last night CBS had talking heads trying to sell me the Big 12 as the best conference in college basketball.

No.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Must be part of announcing 101 somewhere. I had tuned into a PAC game earlier this year because it was late enough that was all that was on. USC vs someone, but had to turn it off when the announcers said "The PAC has to be the best league in the country top to bottom, with so much parity between the teams." Dumbass.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

There was a breakdown last year of the money each team gets from playing in the NCAA and how it benefits the league/teams.
SO....It's definitely 'Go ACC' for this Hokie fan.

Buzz-by needs new shoes.

I read that ACC run so far has already put the conference up for $30m over the next 6 years and that number will only grow as teams win and we gain more units. Last year the ACC was the first conference to eclipse the $30m mark and we have done that already this tournament. That is a lot of money each year if the conference can remain elite and rack of those numbers year after year.

I'm kinda hoping for an all ACC Final Four with Notre Dame, Miami, Duke, and Syracuse haha.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

An all ACC Final Four would be amazing.

And is more likely then an all SEC playoff.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Only because the CFP is too damn small to make that comparison. 19% of D1 schools go to the dance (68/351). 3% of FBS schools go to the playoff (4/125). We're gonna need a 24 team football playoff to really compare.

And that will never happen

Onward and upward

After going 4-0 yesterday, the ACC is guaranteed 2 final four teams and a participant in the Natty.

Just dominating this tournament. I had Notre Dame to the Elite Eight, they may have won my office bracket for me yesterday as I have a total of 6 out of the 8.
