Looking to get tickets for the Notre Dame game this season. Does anyone know what section would be best if I wanted to sit with other Hokies? Thanks for the help.

I'll be hoping for this as well. I wonder how difficult it will be to get tickets through the Hokie Club. It's a big time game, but it's also pretty damn far, the week before thanksgiving, and a stadium we're set to visit multiple times in the next decade.
We live about 4 hours south of Notre Dame and plan on going up early enough to check out the campus and surrounding area (tickets from Hokie Club). Should know more when we play them again in 2019 (looks like it's in South Bend again).
My wife is a domer so we go multiple times a year. The away section given to the schools will be sections 12/13/14 in the first 8-15 rows (these are normally parent sections for Stanford and cadets for Navy). Normally the away bands are located just in front of there and it is on the away sideline. There are additional away section tickets given out across the top rows of sections 115-118 in the south end zone (Facing touchdown Jesus). I would anticipate a lot of Hokies being scattered throughout but if you're trying to sit with the school issued/Hokie club tickets those would be the areas.
Not a real bad seat in the stadium. Lots of tickets available day of the game for $$ either just off expressway or by each entrance. It is senior day but if the weather is cold they'll be had for about $125 per ticket if they aren't undefeated.
You must go to Rocco's pizza after the game (it's a long wait) and then The Linebacker Inn (The backer) to close the night off. We used to do this every game when we were in college.
Closer to the game, like 3 weeks before we will need to you set up a new post with recommendations on where to go, where to tailgate etc.
Time for you Chicago, South Bend and NW Indiana people to get this post set up. Tell us where to park, eat, tricks for getting around and into stadium etc. We just got our tickets, section 6 row 38.
shhh you're typing too loud for their hungover minds today
I bought a pass for the White lot. I figured it was worth the $30 to have a space reserved for the game.
Not to mention, I can set up the Hokie tailgate right in the middle of the Notre Dame fans.
Where did y'all buy passes that cheap?

I bought mine from here. Parking at White Field
Notre Dame's web site.
We should have a good crowd. I don't know how many students will be there for ND. I understand they start their fall break the day before.
Finally got off iPhone to look at it. The white lot seems far for wife post pregnancy to walk. I'm looking at private lots closer to campus right now.
I figure with the father in law in tow we are going to be taking that shuttle bus.
I got an AirB&B within walking distance, no parking pass required.
So is there space in the driveway for a post pregnancy female and her poor Hokie husband?
I'm guessing (based on my own experience and the elapsed time) that the stork took a detour during delivery.
Maybe, I'll have to ask the host.
I bought a White lot pass also. They were available when buying tickets through ND site.
I bought a pass in the white lot as well from the Notre Dame ticket office. Flying into Chicago on Friday and spending the night in Munster for a side trip to 3 Floyds Brewing. Headed down to South Bend on Saturday Morning.
BE ADVISED: Potential stress ahead!
Traffic: Interstate traffic near Chicago can be a little crazy and the stop and go traffic once you hit Meunster is pretty intimidating, too. Since you're not driving from the east, you may not see it, but for some reason the GPS takes me on a 15 mile backtrack every time I go (there's typically road construction), but not actually sure why it does that.
Parking: once you get to the business park, if you see a huge line of cars on the side of the road, just park behind the last car and go with it. Less than 1/2 mile walk.
Atmosphere: I've been fortunate to go on a weekday, the brewpub still looks like a rented out office space and is criminally undersized, but it was pleasant.
BUT... The first trip we took there was on a Friday; we met a friend at 2 for brunch. We waited a half hour in the beer line, then we waited several hours to be seated, and a half hour to have our order taken; another hour for food. The restaurant gets packed! We didn't end up leaving until dark (7 or 8 pm). On busy days they play Troma movies on the TVs and blast insanely loud death metal. Not ideal for conversation. They don't do this unless it's busy.
ID: Remember your ID; Indiana does not mess around with alcohol service laws. You will not get to order beer, and you have to sit in an area where the host/bouncer will keep an eye on you.
Zombie Dust: ZD gets distributed and sold out on Tuesdays in Meunster. The brewpub does not sell it at their beer counter; but you can order it on tap. You will probably not see a bottle of it on your trip.
TLDR; Count on FFF to be super busy and stressful.

We bought parking for L lot.
I stared at 'domer' for way to long trying to figure how that nickname could apply to ND.
I think this may help you out:

Domers, being short for golden domers.
Oh wow, now I'm double stupid. I meant that I looked at it way to long before I realized it was a typo for 'donor'.
I think your original assumption (if I'm reading your comments properly) was correct. "Domer" is a nickname for Notre Dame fans. OP was not stating that his wife is a donor, although she very well could be.
Domers, being short for golden domers.
My goodness, they're from West Virginia !!!! / S
(sorry, I just couldn't resist: every time we pass the gilded West Virginia capital dome on the way to a VT home game, I always say "there it is, the golden prophylactic").
Yup the majestic golden dome on the capital of the poorest state in the nation. Can't pay their teachers but look how shiny!
I went to the Stanford game there in 2010 and I remember there being a ton of Stanford fans in the corner from 112-117.
Same question for the Carrier Dome?
Does anyone know if there will be VT dedicated bus service from Chicago for the Notre Dame game in November? Saw a few other options, that weren't VT related. Thx.
As far as I've seen yes, Chicago Hokies putting it on.Looks like they filled SEVEN buses already and are not doing anymore.
That is how the wife and I will be getting there and back. Need to find a top-notch thermos to pack some hot beverage and liquor. Any recommendations anyone? Does YETI make one that is worth the $$$?
Don't know if you were serious about Yeti, however check out the brand "RTIC", they are about half the price.
Yes they have the cooler I want, but they always have about a 2 month wait. They may be able to get it to me in time.
If you want a good thermos, just get a stainless steel double wall growler.
They hold a half gallon, are relatively inexpensive at about $30-$40, unbreakable and keep the liquid temp excellently.
Wow glad I was proactive and reserved my seats early.
Better time would be had taking the south shore line from the loop to South Bend Airport. Plenty of cabs/Uber from there to campus. It's a good party and lots of fans. Longer day but still worth it.
Thanks for the suggestions. I would imagine people are tailgating on the train as well???
Oh yes. You'll get your fare share both to and from.
Can you give a south shore line for dummies tutorial. I'm looking at their website and I feel like a 2nd grader designed it.
Yes it's not the greatest. It's an older branch of train similar to Chicago metra. It'll pick up at millennium park which is right in the heart of downtown Chicago. It'll take you all the way to south bend airport which is on the other side of town. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to campus from there. I just checked the schedule and first train gets into south Bend about 2.5 hours before kickoff (lose an hour going from Chicago to south bend) So might be stretching it if you want to check out all the sites on campus first. Used to be 7am train that'd get you to south bend at 1030am local time.
If anyone is going to drive, park at St Mary's college for half the price and walk the mile to campus. The masses will lead to the grotto, golden dome, basilica and touchdown Jesus on the way to the stadium. Easier in and out from there too.
There is a bus from Chicago, it's being run from the VT Alumni Chapter of Chicago.
Edit: Should read all comments before posting...

Not sure if tickets will be tough to get, but for any solo Hokies looking to head out to South Bend, I've got one ticket available for sale at face value.
