I know that this is from TSL, but I thought it was a great read on our latest man-crush, Wyatt Teller.
On his weight goal: If I get faster, then I can put on weight. If I stay at the same speed, then I guess there's not much I can put on. If you have a guy who is 325 pounds running a 5.0 or a 4.9, then that's incredible. However much weight I can add and stay the same speed or get faster, that's what I'm trying to do.
If he gets to 325 and runs a 4.9 he will DOMINATE in ways few, if any, Tech DTs have. That is, until he moves to LT.
On whether it was a gut feeling: Really, I woke up that morning and I didn't know. I walked into my coach's office and I didn't know. I called the [UVA] coaches, and I knew.
I never realized how truly close we were to him not being a Hokie. I'm glad he went with his gut and decided to compete for championships as opposed to competing to try to make a bowl game.

It's comforting that he says the younger DT's are great players. Says something about our depth there.
He is too humble not to say that. I bet once he learns the play book he jumps a couple of them and we see him on the field this year.
I kinda bashed the TSL last time I talked about them because I was frustrated with their site set up. However their are somethings they do that I really appreciate. One of which is their interviews with players and recruits, like the one mentioned above. Also, Chris Coleman does a really good job breaking down the Tech Talk Live interviews and other media events so I don't have to worry about missing something. I don't think I will be giving up my subscription. wanted to give some good words for our fellow Hokies.
"On his size: 'Actually a month ago I was about 253, and I'm 276 now. So 23 pounds. Tech food is the best, I can't stop eating it! Lots of protein, lots of weight room, and I'm the same speed. I'm just 23 pounds heavier.'"
This should be sent to every recruit that's a bit undersized that's still on the board!
23 lbs in a month is ridiculous. He must have eaten 6000 calories a day at the minimum. That sounds like a luxury but you really have to put a lot of effort into eating to eat 6000 calories of meaningful food.
