Williams is legit. He's my main source of worry for our game. I know our D-line is going to be stout, but it looks like Williams is capable of making things happen.

I'm so torn on this BC-Clemson game. I love the upset, I always do. But having Clemson and FSU in the national discussion is nothing but good for the ACC. Regardless, I think Clemson is going to take some flak no matter how this game ends up.

Yeah, I don't mind it being close and even a nail biter, but ultimately I want clemson to pull this one out. The better the ACC is in the rankings, the happier I'll be. Plus it gives the ACC the opportunity to have a top-5 and possibly top-15 opponent in the ACCCG

Am I the only one thinking that if our offense only gets it together for one game this year, let it be against UVA?
I'll take close wins, & hell, close losses if it comes to that, against Miami, BC, Mary... but if we could hang 40+ on U-HOO by the end of the 3rd, I'd call it a successful season and take whatever bowl bid we got perfectly happy.
I'm not saying this would satisfy me next year. Next year we better have an O-line that can open some running lanes and a legitimate (non-darkhorse) shot for the ACC title or more.
But this year? My expectations have been low, and honestly, already exceeded. Bring me London's head in a bowl full of tears, and I'll call the season a fantastic success.

id also love to blow uva out from a recruiting standpoint. if its close like all our games seem to be, london can say "look, we only lost by 10. we kept it close. with you we can beat them. etc. etc" another 38-0 is pretty hard to sugercoat

I'd like to cream them, as I always do. But if there was only one game where our offense could be awesome, I would love for it to be the ACCCG or our bowl game.

I love little Kentucky so much... I hope they can make a miracle in Lexington. In all reality, they are playing against Alabama VERY well! There have been a few bad calls and silly missed opportunities.

Long way to go, ball died right behind the line, chance that they fumble and Michigan runs it in. A lot of screwy things can happen on blocked kicks, so the smarter play is just to live on for another OT, especially when you get the ball second in that one.

In my opinion it's not all that risky. You usually have a WR or DB back there as the deep guy on kick block, versus 9 linemen, a holder( usually a punter) and thekicker. And the field goal unit isn't expecting to have to cover a kick return

True, but it's a lot of guys to get through. I remember that scenario being discussed in our All-Access. Wiles was drilling it into the guys - if you block it behind the O-line, scoop and score, otherwise, just fall on it.

I'm enjoying watching Michigan twist in the wind- oh so close to win and snatched away again and again Praying the Danny Coals karma leads PSU to a win.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Apparently I missed two very good games with PSU winning in 4OT over Michigan. I did see the last touchdown, but that seems like a ridiculous game. Also, Stanford losing to the Utes? Holy crap I wouldn't have called that one. Don't know if I got a single win the in the pick em this week.

Northwestern and Michigan are the only two ahead of us that I think will drop far enough for us to move up and even then, Mizzou beat Georgia so they will probably leapfrog us. So unless we jump NIU, we maybe move up one spot. Lot of movement, just not enough in the range we are in.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yea, with all teams from 16-19 losing, there will be a lot of shaking up in the lower 10 positions. BCS comes out tomorrow, too, and the BCS computers had us at 25 before the AP or Coaches' Poll did, so we could be looking at a nice spot right around 20, I'd think. Not that it should matter to these guys. I like their attitude so far. Ignore distractions like rankings and perception, go out there and kick ass.

Florida lost to LSU, which all you have to do is say SEC and you get insta votes in the poles. There is a shot, I just don't see it with them. Washington lost to Oregon and held them under 50 points. I think the pollsters will forgive them.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I think Washington drops a bit, maybe down to 18, with Michigan dropping out. Mizzou shoots up to 15 or 16. Florida drops to around 20/21 with us right next to them.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
We will definitely jump NIU, they didn't look that great against Akron today. Florida will fall below us. I don't know about Washington because they haven't looked terrible these last two weeks, it's just a tough schedule. But it's gotta be hard to put a 2 loss team over a team whose only loss is to #1. I'd say we'll jump them and be 21ish.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That's what I'm thinking. I also wonder if Michigan may drop straight out, with three really bad performances finally catching up with them. Pollsters generally don't move a team down as long as they win, but the combined performances against Akron, UConn, and now PSU may just be enough to do it.

Its going to be crap when Georgia is still ranked in the top 15 with two losses. Mizzou will jump into the top 15, possibly top 10. Definitely could see the media putting them above miami

So what you're saying is, we can't look past BC?
We can't look past anyone, but especially not BC. Could be a tough stretch with BC and Miami back-to-back.
thanks Swofford!
BC just stops Clemson's fake FG attempt.
EDIT: I don't know if that was a fake or just a total fail...
that was a total fail. holder couldnt get it down. although BC just threw a pick on a shovel pass. haha
Yep, the last sequence of back-and-forth was just hilarious to watch. Stubbed toe on a FG try and a shovel pass off of an O-lineman for an INT.
...and Clemson fumbles it right back. Cue the Benny Hill theme!
now clemson fumbled again. this game is a comedy of errors
Bill Snyder is Mumm-Ra.
I bet da U is happy they're not playing on this Upset Saturday!
ANOTHER CLEMSON FUMBLE!!!!!
So basically the winner of this game is the team who is the least bad? Something in the air across college football today. Watch out, Oregon!
Clemson is working on pulling a Clemson
TD Turtles
BC's #44 is the nation's leading rusher? Wow. Next Montel Harris!
Williams is legit. He's my main source of worry for our game. I know our D-line is going to be stout, but it looks like Williams is capable of making things happen.
4-and-6
SHORT!
The Oregon is in an dogfight with U-Dub
Washington's D is holding its own against Oregon. 7-7 beginning of the 2nd Q
Apparently, defense is the word today. Except in the SEC
7-3 BC at the Half.
16-14 UVA at the half
touche
twerps retake lead with a FG
Clemson TD negated by motion penalty.
They get the TD two plays later anyway. 9-7 Clemson, pending XP.
Does BC try a fumblerooski here?
Well, there you have it. One play and BC has a long TD to Amidon.
TOUCHDOWN EAGLES!!!!
When did Rettig become Matt Ryan?
I'm so torn on this BC-Clemson game. I love the upset, I always do. But having Clemson and FSU in the national discussion is nothing but good for the ACC. Regardless, I think Clemson is going to take some flak no matter how this game ends up.

I still want to beat Tajh in Charlotte. FSU has a bye before they go to Clemson. Will be a great game.
Terps over the Hoos 20-16 late in the 3rd quarter.
20-16 Twerps
Clemson's Clemsoning potential is approaching critical mass.
*was
klempson retakes lead.
K-state just took the lead over Baylor.
newhoos take 23-20 lead
Well the Clemson BC game looks to be over
BC starting to self-destruct. Clemson with a fumble recovery for a TD. 24-14.
TD Terps, up 27-26 over the Hoos.
Terps back on top by one with 5 to play
STOP THE PRESSES. MIKE LONDON JUST CALLED A TIMEOUT WHEN HIS TEAM IS TRAILING AND THE OPPONENT IS TRYING TO RUN OUT THE CLOCK. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?
I love this game, it's ugly! Whoever wins, will win in Pyrrhic fashion
UVA driving
it looks like the french are gonna pull this one out..
he misses! terps hold on for the win
HOOS FG IS NO GOOD! TERPS WIN!
Twerps survive
THAT WAS GLORIOUS!
Almost looked like MD had a good shot at blocking it. Kicker probably had to rush it.
Nothing quite warms my heart like watching UVA completely fail right at the very end
Did you guys see that UVA linement throw a punch on the kneel down?
Once they get Hand, they won't miss those field goals.
That was almost perfect, both teams looked like crap
Am I the only one thinking that if our offense only gets it together for one game this year, let it be against UVA?

I understand your point. But is that even possible against a UVA defense that is so good on 3rd downs?
That's when we'll see the true genius of Loeffler.
He's going to take a knee on all third downs, then pass to Byrn on 4ths.
London's head will explode.
id also love to blow uva out from a recruiting standpoint. if its close like all our games seem to be, london can say "look, we only lost by 10. we kept it close. with you we can beat them. etc. etc" another 38-0 is pretty hard to sugercoat

London's head in a bowl full of tears would be splendid. But I think it's serving us just fine perched atop his shoulders
Refs bail out Michigan, as usual.
I love little Kentucky so much... I hope they can make a miracle in Lexington. In all reality, they are playing against Alabama VERY well! There have been a few bad calls and silly missed opportunities.
This is one heck of a finish up in State College. PSU on the goal line under :30 trailing 34-27.
PSU receiver with a very Danny Coale catch late. Suck it Michigan. It was a catch AND we're gonna break your attendance record in 2016.
A Kentucky player really injured a referee just now hahahaha. I shouldn't laugh but it was pretty funny watching it.
No, it's absolutely f-king hi-larious. In fact, it was a long time coming.
PSU ties it. Looks like this one will head to OT.
Michigan making it interesting. Close to FG range...
I want Penn State so bad. Michigan being ranked ahead of us just can't stay. :)
Stanford down 13 to Utah in the 4th.
Damn, PSU missed the FG. Michigan's ball now in OT.
Looks like Michigan is going to get lucky.
So basically, pretty much how they've won all their games this year?
Three weeks in a row that is.
PSU blocked the FG!
BLOCKED! BEAMERBALL! haha
Playing out much like our game against Marshall...
Just thinking that, as a matter of fact.
Why didn't they try to return it?
Long way to go, ball died right behind the line, chance that they fumble and Michigan runs it in. A lot of screwy things can happen on blocked kicks, so the smarter play is just to live on for another OT, especially when you get the ball second in that one.

Michigan misses the FG! On to 4 OT!
Go Penn State!
This is EXACTLY like our game vs. Marshall
Go State!
I'm enjoying watching Michigan twist in the wind- oh so close to win and snatched away again and again Praying the Danny Coals karma leads PSU to a win.
Manziel hurt.
That looked nasty.
Manziel got hurt. And it looks to be really bad.
Gutsy call and PSU converts on 4th down. O'Brien is playing to win, not to tie.
Definitely not a Frank Beamer strategy in this situation.
Nope. I love the play call. Looks like PSU has new life with a defensive PI in the end zone!
Touchdown PSU!
Meanwhile, Stanford just turned it over on downs with less than a minute left against Utah.
and lost.
Looks like Utah is going to beat Stanford...
Chaos this week! Chaos!
Penn State wins!
And with that, I cannot keep count. I only have 6 fingers on my left hand.
I. Love. This weekend. Of College football.
Stanford goes down. Two top 5 ACC teams!
Manziel back in for A&M. Surprising. I thought for sure that was an ACL.
Same here.
lets see if i get everyone who lost. #5 Stanford. #7 Georgia. #17 Florida. #18 Michigan. #19 Northwestern. what i crazy day
#12 Oklahoma
thanks. figured id miss somebody. haha
It's been one of those days.
Also #16 Washington, but they lost to Oregon so most will probably forgive that loss.
and #12 Oklahoma.
And the Hokies win. How much do we jump this week?
I can see us right around #20. Had our win been more "convincing" in the eyes of those who look only at box scores, maybe as high as #17.
i think Missouri will jump us. they were at #25 and their win over Georgia is going to look better to the voters
True, but given that all teams from 16-19 lost, there is room for everyone around us to move up. Mizzou will move the highest, for sure.
The michigan penn st game was awesome..reminded me of the Marshall game with missed and blocked FGs.
Michigan should have lost several games ago
Yep, I thought Akron had them.
I thought UConn did.
Should've lost all three weeks.
When do the BCS Standings get released? Tomorrow?
Should be, yes. What timing...
Stanford loses as well, 27-21
Looks like hokies will be, at the lowest 21-22...interesting.
BYU is beating GT.
Looks like BYU is gonna win that one.
BYU with a pick-6, 30-13 BYU pending XP.
So what will Tech be ranked now? 20 or so?

BYU just put the icing on this cake. Complete rout.
The BC game worries me after seeing them play well against FSU and Clemson.
Its going to be crap when Georgia is still ranked in the top 15 with two losses. Mizzou will jump into the top 15, possibly top 10. Definitely could see the media putting them above miami
3 ACC teams in the top 10? Sounds good to me.
Things are getting interesting the Ole Miss and Texas A&M game.
Ole Miss pulling off the upset would just be grand
Looks like a highly plausible happening.
Looks like it could very well turn into a shoot out. Unless Ole Miss exhausts their supply of D-Linemen before this game ends.
