Will be continue to update this post as news about other games break..
1) UCF at UNC is Cancelled and WVU at NC State is Cancelled
UCF at UNC and West Virginia at N.C. State will not be played this weekend. No word expected until Wednesday on #Hokies-ECU, which is more inland than those two, obviously. Safety concerns, especially for a team coming from Greenville and for fans traveling, should be paramount.β Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) September 11, 2018
2) Boston College at Wake moved from 7:30pm on 9/13 to 5:30pm on 9/13
Based on the current weather forecast related to Hurricane Florence, @BCFootball vs @WakeFB, originally scheduled for 7:30 PM this Thursday night, has been moved to 5:30 PM: https://t.co/qmS6phKBys pic.twitter.com/pGQejkAwrlβ ACC Football (@ACCFootball) September 11, 2018

BC wake moves up to 5:30pm on Thursday still on ESPN
Sounds like a win win for UNC and State. Allows students and attendees to stay safe and avoid watching both teams suffer another embarrassing loss. Something, something UNC and Hurricane games...
So, what happens to the time-space continuum if ECU and the Hokies do not play football during a season?
Might want to check that before cancelling. It could have serious implications.
According to the Jim Weaver forecasting model, Appendix A (page 223), entitled 'ECU Perpetually' shows us that this could cause severe meteorite destruction to the universe.
So, if ECU cancels (as they probably should, given what's coming their way) and Florence decides to hang out over NC instead of Virginia (i.e. follows the euro models), can we just invite UCF up to Blacksburg? They were coming up this way anyways, and we'd now have the hotel space that ECU was going to use. Shouldn't take us too long to figure out how to defend UCF, as we just handled FSU's similar system. (Or was that USF? Shit, I get those two confused.)
Hint: only one of them won a national championship last season (and it wasn't Taggart's old team)
Actually the correct answer is neither of them.
so, if you bet on a 5 leg parlay and two of the games got canceled due to the hurricane, what happens? Asking for a friend...
EDIT: nevermind
You answered it, but I like this gif anyway...
great movie.
Gotta be careful searching for gifs with that movie title, though...
Your bet is canceled...a friend told me.
Actually it could also take those two out of the parlay and you now have a 3 team parlay
now it's a 2 leg parlay with WVU NCSU getting canceled. That 50 cent bet for a $20 return is looking pretty paltry now
Bummer, that WVU NCState game was gonna be a highlight non-con matchup this weekend.
They'll do anything to get more fans in the stands!
More like they'll do anything to get an opportunity for a win towards bowl eligibility.
They have 11-12 of them a year! Never changes anything.
But they only have approx 27 qualified guys working on that goal.
Scott Stadium this Saturday will have about as many fans as they normally have in attendance.
Who in Tennessee wants to see THAT game?
Talk about a game that should have been cancelled...
More people than at the spring football festival!
They'll attract NASCAR fans.....anybody looking to see a wreck.
Seeing that player crying on the ground, sends me a great swell of satisfaction & enjoyment.
This might sound crazy as hell, ..but I kinda miss being back home during hurricane season.
Me too. Maybe I am crazy, but walking out during an eye of a hurricane is an amazing feeling. It is bone deep.
All the negative impact aside, hurricanes are incredible natural phenomena.
Totally agree. That was the coolest part of Irma was being out in the eye to check what had happened so far. Until we were at the far side of the property when the back side of it started coming through...
Emory and Henry just postponed their game as well .
Rumors on BoneyardBanter (ECU's message board) make it sound like they are heading to Orlando for Saturday. Sounds like the game will be cancelled and ECU will stay there until their game against USF.
Wow...
Televised? Hmmmm..
Edit: Oh. Probably makes more sense.
I give a big giant FUCK NO to that. What incentive do we have to play a road game against them that far away on short notice? I say play in Lane or cancel.
Just edited it, sounds like it's cancelled. ECU's just getting out of town ahead of the storm.
Money, maybe?
I'd probably rather they cancelled it.
Mike Barber just tweeted that ECU announced it won't travel to Blacksburg for Saturday's game
Will the UCF and UNC game be made up? I can see UNC being happy because it avoids a L, but UCF probably was going to use this W to trumpet their SOS and how they can compete with the big boys. I feel bad for UCF truth be told.
Same with NC State/ WVU. NC State is a pretty good team and each club would have used that as a resume building win
UCF is probably like "not again..." since they had their game against GT cancelled last season.
UCFs SOS will actually benefit from not playing UNC this year...
Can anyone offer any insight onto whether or not Marshall will play South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday? Columbia isn't supposed to get hit, but Marshall has to travel, and parts of South Carolina are going to get hit. And even if the game does happen, would I be wise to swallow my 50 bucks and stay off the roads?
Yes. Eat the $50 bucks and enjoy not having to deal with the traffic or driving in awful conditions.
Sit back and watch the Herd win on TV.
Game was cancelled today. Good news is that Marshall and UCF share bye weeks, and if Marshall takes care of business in conference play, that game might determine who gets the G5 bid in the NY6 bowls if they decide to play that game.
The ECU @ VT game has been cancelled, don't know if anyone has said anything about that yet.
(It isn't in the main post yet)
At least they waited till Wednesday to decide it.
