I know its LT at this point but the D caved on that last TD!
I just don't understand how Beamer who is always preaching about ball protection can keep LT in there! Leal may not be a game breaker but at this point LT is more of a Liabilty! Can't get the bad taste after this one! I know football is a game of inches but I know we are better than this! I'm just so dejected!

The backup QB is the most popular player on the team when the team is unsuccessful. If you're looking for a quarterback change, you're going to have to wait until next season. In my opinion, we might have had unrealistic expectations for this year.
Williams had 33 carries!! 33!! Hard for a D to play lights out that much. I think you may be forgetting how much effort our D put in on those 2 goal line situations. They had to come back on a quick turnaround and defend a short field. O did them no favors by putting them in no win situations.
Leal may not win us games, but is he going to lose us these last two? Doubtful.
The D had 2 letdowns all game. 14 points were the result. I don't know how you can hold that against the guys on defense. Not to mention, BC's RB came into this game at #5 in the nation in total rushing yards.
On that last Williams TD, Bonner was pretty much out of position in hindsight.
It looked like a single Olinemen for BC was able to block both Bonner and Tyler. If you watch the replay, he was able to block one guy with each arm. Probably not the best gap fit by Bonner. Seems similar to the Bernard run against UNC last year. Just got caught too far inside.
My point is, the FS should not be that close to the line, even if it is an obvious run play. Especially if they're using 8 or 9 linemen.
Yep. Saw that. The D didn't lose this game for us. We just gave BC the ball in critical moments or with good field position. Bonner was ok where he started the play but read the play terribly and came too far up and way too far to the right, which I don't get because why would you not stay closer to the outside if possible in order to force the ball carrier back to the middle where the rest of your defenders are??
Yeah, the D made a couple of mistakes, but the offense made far more mistakes. I would put more of the blame on the offense than the defense.
Our D played well enough to win this game.

Personal Opinion: Joe made a post game (loss) thread. Can't we all post our thoughts in one place? I love hearing your opinions post game, but I can't keep up with everyone's new threads. 10 post game threads is stupid. This is my personal opinion, but can we please consolidate things? (I will try and post this on all the other new threads)

Yea I do think they are what help make our D top echelon. Without them, maybe top 10 or 15, but with them top 3 easy.

Pick brought back to the 15: D gave up 7 yards and a FG

That's what, half of the points we gave up on the day? The defense let up 25 yards in the points above and BC got 17 points. Other than that, BC had the one long rushing TD on the play where we sold out to stop the run and got beat. The defense could have played a little better, but not by a whole lot.

This Defense gets a pass. Yes, we gave up that long TD late, but Williams is beast of an RB and has some speed, too. I feel as BC should be credited at most 17 points in this game. Just look at the box score!
