I want to add a random quote each time the site loads in the footer, but I am having a hard time remembering all of the classics. These are what I have so far.
"David doesn't drink," running backs coach Billy Hite said today. "David doesn't even fart. That's how good of a kid he is."
"Does it get better than Thursday Night in Blacksburg?" - Rece Davis
"No Tweedy! It’s Whip!" - Cornell Brown
Any suggestions?

Tyrod did it, Mikey! Tyrod did it!
Bill Roth is probably a good source for some of these.
a few off the top of my head...
"I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them." - Lee Corso
"From the blue waters of the Chesapeake Bay to the hills of Tennesee, the Virginia Tech Hokies are on the air" - Bill Roth
"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence." - on the Hokie Stone in the tunnel
Great Resource
If you're looking for anything involving Bill and Mike, here are some of their greatest calls:

My suggestion: "He said give it to me Roscoe, give it to me." - After DeAngelo Hall's strip of Rosce Parrish against Miami in 03
Greatest Hits
#1 and #2 from this link give me chills every time. Bill Roth screaming "He ran it back! He ran it back for a touchdown!" needs to be my email alert. Welp, there's this afternoon's project.
From the best DE in college football history
"Welcome to the Terror Dome." -- Corey Moore
love this video
Not a Hokie quote, but somebody please send it to our defense...
One of my favorites, attributed to a former Vol coach (don't remember the name), but passed on by my high school coach....."Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor."
Remembering this
made me want to use it as a signature line
Google to the rescue
"Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor." - Bowden Wyatt, Tennessee

Ah....
illumination. Thank you!
Just remembered another one from high school...
"Angry people win football games" Don't remember the source for that one either.
Footer
If you notice, random quotes are now showing up in the footer. If you guys have any others you want to see in there let me know. Thanks for the help y'all!
Touchdown Tech!
I have a Worhsam field rug at home. Every time I walk across it I say to myself Touchdown Tech.

Bud Foster
"I thought the kid you're talking to right there played his nuts off" - The Notorious B.U.D.
and you can quote me on that shit too.
"These people are losing their minds"
"Give it to me Rosco, Give it to Me!"
-Bill Roth
"Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!"
-Bill Roth
"Stick it in, stick it in, stick it in!"

A couple I really liked
"Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains in southwestern Virginia, Blacksburg is "a beautiful college town setting. Tailgate parties dot virtually every open space around Lane Stadium, and there's a real sense of hospitality toward visitors - at least until the game starts." The Hokies roaring onto the field to the strains of Metallica's heavy metal song Enter Sandman makes kickoff "seem almost anticlimactic. It is one of the best scenes in college football."
-Rece Davis (very long but I didn't know which parts to take out so I said f*ck it)
"I think (Tweedy's) one of the best special teams player I've ever seen. Ever"
-BUD
"Tyrod Taylor, human highlight reel! ..... I watched Tyrod in college. And when he got here, I told Ozzie and a lot of our coaches, I think the steal of our draft this year was Tyrod Taylor. He's just that exceptional of an athlete, he's just a pure competitor. I just love watching the kid play"
-Ray Lewis (as Tyrod leads the Ravens for the preseason game winning TD)
"Thank god this is Sean Glennon's last game"
-me
"38-0 bro" -Logan Thomas
"38-0 bro"

We're gonna go inside, we're
We're gonna go inside, we're gonna go outside, inside and outside. We're gonna get 'em on the run boys and once we get 'em on the run we're gonna keep 'em on the run. And then we're gonna go go go go go go and we're not gonna stop til we get across that goalline. This is a team they say is... is good, well I think we're better than them. They can't lick us, so what do you say men?
...oh wait, that's from Rudy
or this one:
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
-Charles Dickens, famously referencing the 2010 VT season, in which we lost to JMU, but reeled off 10 straight wins to win the ACC
How about...
"What the hell is blocking?"- Marcus Davis
The quote in my sig
Also, "These people are losing their minds!" said by whoever did play by play for Miami 2011, can't remember at the moment
Good ole Mike Patrick IIRC.
Your Sig
Is already in the rotation of quotes at the bottom
Revis by Tone
"Its my 1st year being Revis so you might see some flags but at the end of the day its gonna make me that cash"
"Pick up your ACL, it's on the ground." -Jesse Palmer on David Wilson
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWp_GF9Tus8
Technically...
Jesse Palmer said it about Isaiah Johnson
Well, yeah, you get the point.
I've always wondered where "No Tweedy! It's whip!" came from. I researched it, but could never find anything on it. What was that about?
There was a video VT media (I think) put out showing "behind the scenes" at practice... During the video, Cornell Brown yelled that in this super high-pitched voice. I think it's from the "VT Football Camp Confidential" videos from this summer, but I don't know which exact one...
I think it was a "behind the scenes at practice" type of show that ESPNU did early during the 2011 season.
Yeah, something like that. I know that *I* know it from TKP, though whether it was embedded in a post or just linked to... /shrug
Here ya go
Kept having trouble with the embed, so here's the link:

I had never seen this video before. I'm dying.
This. Is. AWESOME. Also, Cornell Brown seems like he might eventually give Torrian a run for Bud's job when the time comes.
Um, no
Thank you! Really enjoyed that!
What was Bud's comment about UVA this year? He said something along the lines of this...
Bud: "Well when you beat a team a lot it..."
Reporter: "It's 8 straight."
Bud: "Oh is it? I lose count."
Can't remember exactly but it had a ton of turkey leg on it if you catch my drift.

'Nuff said :)
Y'all
Thanks for reviving this thread!
I'm going to have to update the list the footer randomly pulls from when the site loads.
"Never mistake activity for achievement."
"Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability."
John Gruden on Tyrod Taylor's spectacular scrambling TD pass to David Wilson in Orange Bowl vs. Stanford:
"We had Michael Vick a couple weeks ago, and now I get Starship Five right here. Take a look at this. Reverses his field, great sideline awareness -- and you don't think these Virginia Tech receivers are good at the scramble drill, do ya? That's a running back right there."
"Clemson might as well hold up a sign that says screen pass"
Mike Patrick IIRC, after Jacoby Ford gets blown up yet again during the blueberry uniform game
Continuing the Clemson flavor, don't forget this gem:
"(Virginia Tech quarterback) Michael Vick can eat pancakes off
of Woody's head," Clemson coach Tommy Bowden said. "(Dantzler)
is not as big, not as fast, not as quick. Other than that, they
look a lot alike.
How 'bout them apples? Mike Burnop
It was a catch!
"These people are losing their minds" Sean McDonough during the '11 Miami game when Enter Sandman started playing in the 4th quarter.
Not for nothing, but I'm pretty sure that was Mike Patrick that said that. His voice is pretty recognizable.
Yep, it was definitely Mike Patrick. Sean McDonough had the famous "has a man open" call from the Nebraska game.
Which is also an all-time classic Hokie call
That's where I screwed it up. Thanks guys!
Sean McDonough: ""From 44 yards, it's long enough. It is right down the middle! Good for Shayne Graham! They're still alive in Blacksburg!"
I'm gonna paraphrase just a bit here:
Roth: "The student section here at Chestnut Hill is one of the more colorful around"
Burnop: "That's what you get from a bunch of Catholics"
Roth: "We'll be right back with Roanoke Catholic High School graduate Mike Burnop"
"We don't have a clock, we have a Cup"
-James Gayle
Can we just include every pre game quote from the players before the uva game?
"Mike London, master of clock and game management" - No one in the history of the universe
"An intense whining sound" -Virginia Sports Radio announcers.
My Dad, an ME, (now gone)....
"The concrete's vibrating"
Lane stadium after the punt block for a TD in the Miami game....
Jame Gayle on twitter in response to Moses twitter...
Moses "One year ago today I shocked the world and signed with UVA"
Gayle "Six months ago today I did a student stutter step went around you and sacked your QB"
J.B. Grimes on Jim Druckenmiller:
"He's stronger than train smoke"
I've literally never noticed those quotes before. Don't have the time to reload the pages over and over, but here are a few fun ones (that may already be in there)
"This is just incredible." - Mike Patrick
"Woooahohohooohooo!!" - All announcers on Darren Evans truck stick on Maryland player.
"Most students who are there want to be nowhere else... Once a Hokie, always a Hokie." - Chris Fowler
"They'll get after ya" - Frank
At the risk of aging myself...
"That's right, Jeff (Jeff Charles, VT play-by-play man back in the day), that right there was a "sweep-style" play where the fullback and tailback go to the right, the guard kicks out, and they sweep aroung the right side..." Bill Dooley
"The U might be back, but we never left." - Rashad Carmichael
Man I miss Roc.
Oh god... I forget how it goes, and who said it... but back in 2002, someone on Syracuse had a golden quote
"I can't stand playing in Blacksburg. I hate the Virginia Tech fans. They're so annoying. They think they play, too."
Wyatt Teller on Marshawn Williams:
"I don't know if I'm blocking for him or he's blocking for me."
I love this quote.
My favorite quotes from announcers aren't VT-related, but I'll list them here:
Verne Lundquist said once last season that he loves college football because, and I'm paraphrasing here, "They're good enough to make plays you'd never believe but just bad enough to cause havoc"
The UCF running back just pummeled a potential tackler once and David Pollack said, "That should be targeting on Stanback!" It was totally appropriate.
I used the "does it get any better than Thursday night in blacksburg" quote as my senior quote this year. Can't wait to attend tech next year.
"I promise you I will keep getting back up as long as you keep pushing forward." -Michael Brewer
-Michael Brewer 30 minutes before breaking his collarbone,
My signature quote from Frank is a good one.

Bradburn's quote about putting a returner on his ass is a must.
"Beams is magical" - Greg Stroman
"The Hokies look to turn in their first complete performance of the 2019 season against FCS foe Furman." - The Key Play staff.
Even with a win the jokes write themselves.
My man revived a thread from 2011 for a joke. That's dedication.
To be fair it's been "revived" a few times since then
"You were that dad when nobody had their dad on that college campus, Coach Foster"- DeAngelo Hall
"This is our game, this is our field, and most importantly, this is our state!" - Sam Rogers
This tweet never fails to get a laugh out of me.
James Gayle holds the title for Champion 'Hoo-Hater. I can't imagine how savage someone would need to be to unseat him.
Hunter Carpenter in 1905 would like a word.
The passion is there, but the witty trash talk and ability to back it up by destroying them without being ejected earns Gayle the title IMO. Sounds like Carpenter would have been a hell of a great enforcer for our hockey team, though.
A Hunter Carpenter-James Gayle mash-up has been one of my sig lines for a really long time now.
Logan Thomas gave the "38-0, bro"
That time in 2008 that Darren Evans destroyed a MD Player
and
sauce
Doc walker had a few good ones...
"Not a bad snap, you gotta since of urgency, son. Do you know who you playing? You playing Virginia Tech. 'Thats it, Ted Roof oughta go for it on fourth down, because his punting operation is not good." 2007 - Duke - Virginia Tech..
Starts at 1:08:30 - Shout out to Hokietapes
That kid played his ass off and you can quote me on that.....Foster defending his players to media I am thinking
"Brian wrote his nuts off on this one" Joe Lanza 11/8/2019
Can we use the tirade James Gayle is on in Twitterworld right now as one continuous quote or do we use each of them individually?
Yes. Much like Cowherd's rant, you can pick your favorite line or post the whole thing.
Sometimes, simple is best.
