This is certainly neither Frank Beamer nor Al Golden's first rodeo. Nothing should ever really come as a shock on National Signing Day. Let's be real, we're talking about 17 or 18 year olds making (what might be) their first major life decision. Sometimes, recruits change their minds. Sometimes - as in Jawand Blue's case - they decide to go to Miami instead of Virginia Tech. That's cool, and I wish him the best of luck.

I watched a video
Yesterday of Al Golden entering the office on signing day. They made clear to show that he got in before anyone else flippin the office switch at a time stamped 5:17 am. Then the best part came as they showed about 6 clips of him talking to recruits after sending in their LOI. I saw less of a coach and more of a fraternity recruitment chair. I had no idea it was cool for a 40 year old dude to say "welcome BRO, ready to get it done" over and over and over.

Blue Collar- I agree, particularly if this class which was top ten (again....YAWN) cannot even win the Conference in the next four years. I can see a scenario where he becomes Randy 2.0: competes every odd year (gets a preseason top 7 ranking one year) and is a true non-factor for the other two even years before getting the 'ole boot out the door (that's barring the sanctions as well). I think he is taking them in the right direction but we all said that about Shannon as well when he took over if I remember correctly. If Miami gets blasted with sanctions then I think, regardless of what he says in the media to the press, he starts prepping that resume and looking for a HC or even coordinator position somewhere outside the ACC. Either way, you're right: I think the clock is ticking.

Once the NCAA lays the smack down on Miami and he can only recruit about 10 kids per year he'll start strolling in around 8 or 9. Miami was back again this year before they weren't.
It amazes me to no end how programs that go 6-6, let alone are on the verge of major sanctions, are able to pull in top 10 classes. I guess all VT needs to do is sell out to a bunch of 5 stars (New River Valley yacht cruise anyone?), get in a couple of brawls with the teams we played, and we will have sustained our recruiting efforts for years to come.

Hey Al- let me first say those respect comments I said earlier should be disregarded. Whatever I gained from the classic shootout in Blacksburg is now gone. Secondly: you really lack any conceptual understanding of common sense, don't you? You are running your mouth about the team that made you lose bowel control in the fourth quarter and, as some have pointed out (Cheri), you lost to Maryland (but we didn't have our best players......cry me a fregging river d-bag) who won ONE game against an FBS opponent. Oh and you LOST to UVA (hahaha). Lost in all my ranting is the fact that you have pissed Frank an Bud off, which is equivalent to poking a hibernating black bear father and mother surrounding their cubs- nicely done: you are about to be consumed as a snack. Prepare yourself, because if you thought last year's loss was painful, this woodshed we are going to drag you behind is going to be a whole lot worse. Get your resume ready to put on there that Frank Beamer worked you twice. Honestly all did you was add even more gas to an already combustible situation. We own this division- get used to it.
