Somehow I missed this, but apparently Tommy Tuberville announced he's running against Doug Jones for the Alabama Senate seat in 2020. Not try to get political or turn this into a political thread, but found this interesting. It would be nice not seeing him broadcasting games this season.

Weird world we live in
Alabama does have football coaches as most popular people. Wonder if auburn will hurt him tho
Nothing's more American than "I won't vote for the guy who went the to school I hate." /s
-Tommy Tuberville, probably.
I came to this thread to see how many comments it took for this joke to be made.
We know he's not gonna pass for Senate.
It's great that senators can pass bills but we all know that only truly great senators can run bills
He has the most wins against Saban and won more than lost.
He can run for office but we all know he won't pass shit if elected.
Lmao yeah the best thing about this off-season is Tubby and Mack Brown getting off the air (although I think the hate on Mack as a commentator is a little over the top).
Obligatory
Well, you know not a single 'Bama fan will be voting for him
Strong name recognition in the state? Check.
Never banned from any malls? Check.
I'd say he's the favorite at this point.
True, unlike certain other candidates, he is allowed in every mall in the state of Alabama. But you may want to refer to 757hokie83's comment above you before declaring him a favorite.
Naw, he's of the right party for Alabama and Moore is history. Tommy will easily win that election. There are things people down there seem to hate more than 'bama.
Oh, you're likely spot on. My comment was more in jest to illustrate the irrational importance of college football in the South.
That's a good point. It's going to be the perfect experiment to find out what Bama fans hate most.
The transfer portal is getting out of hand
Big Wes! Nice post
