Finally a game that I don't have to figure out how to watch!
Edit/Context: I had PlayStation Vue for NFL Redzone and ACC Network but switched back to Xfinity recently when PlayStation Vue announced it's shutdown. So no ACC Network for me at the moment....
Should have just replaced Vue with YouTube TV, assuming you have a device you can use it with or can get a $35 Chromecast.
Very seriously thought about it but we like NFL Network and Redzone which YouTube TV doesn't currently have unfortunately. Would almost certainly choose it if it had those channels and when Comcast inevitably screws me of course.
Surprisingly, going back to Comcast, we were able to save about $15/month off of the combined Xfinity internet/PlayStation Vue cost......for now :(
Whew. I was concerned for my liver and general well being if this ended up being a night game. Best possible outcome.
I have a family event that day, and was hoping for primetime as that was the one timeslot I knew I'd be able to see at least the end of the game.
I blame your family.
Best game time for drive up and back!
We own that 3:30 time slot. Now let's own Nardouche.
I suppose that since the BC game was a 4pm kick and the ND game was a 2:30pm kick, we're unbeaten at 3:30
Decided to attend. Have an excitable 5 year old, where's the best place to sit? (wife says no drunk college students that leave early and don't watch the game).
Edit: she'd like to be near an aisle but StubHub doesn't have 3 tickets together that meet that criteria
Middle of the west stands is usually where older/more tame fans sit
do they stand and jump? I guess what I'm saying tame isn't necessarily a requirement, just dedication
going with lower west on the 25
That's where I sit in section 4 seems to be the best of both worlds
I sit in section 8 lower (row o maybe). I think of visiting recruits sit in lower section 6. Never have been told to sit and most people have been standing in these areas for entire games.
I sat in West once, and never will again after being yelled at repeatedly to sit down any time I stood up. You probably want East.
Not sure I will ever be old enough to sit in the west stands.
I sat there last year....I wasn't prepared for how tame they were. The good news is my drunk commentary reached more audience.
I think you can still get tickets on hokie sports, got an email last week saying some were still available
I clicked there and it sent me straight to stub hub, unless I did it wrong.
there are still tix:

My season tickets are in odd side of Section 31 near the upper portal top railing(35-40 yard line. Great area with fans who get involved and don't mind me standing and screaming for almost every minute of the game(never been asked to sit down or be quiet) and not many if any (rowdy) drunks.(can't promise no one intoxicated 'cause...Lane Stadium :) ) I will never move to the West side.
I was sort of hoping for a night game just for the hype. However 3:30 on ESPN2 is better because more people get to watch and it won't be as cold for the game.
Bitter said initial line is -2. Gonna be a dogfight in my opinion.
The GT line was only -6.
Hokies by 17.
I would be thrilled but sometimes Pitt Happens and usually Pitt at least almost happens.
I just don't see their offense being able to do anything against our defense, especially how we've been playing.
Their defense is stout, but our offense can use their aggressiveness against them.
I dunno. It's always dangerous to talk about the transitive property of football, especially in the coastal, but UVA beat them 30-14 in the opener, and I think we're playing way better than UVA has at all this season. Pitt just doesn't scare me the way we've been playing.
I seen that it opened at VT -1 and moved to -3, VT opened at -2 and moved to -3 and VT opened at -3.
They all sound a little low to me. I don't see Pitt favored or pick'em on a neutral field.
I took VT -3 earlier today, wish I had seen it at -1, woulda jumped all over that one
Need to bring the noise.
I'll be tailgating in the vet parking lot and then in Lane on the east side with some buddies! Let's get ROWDY!!!
Front corner of German Club lot if anyone's looking to party.
Need another Wake-like performance from Lane Stadium. Get there early, bring the Terror Dome.
Any idea when UVA VT kickoff will be..? I am assuming 7.
With the Coastal likely on the line, yes...probable late kickoff.
Edit: nevermind :(
Does
Scott StadiumLane North even have lights? Every game we've played there in recent memory has been an afternoon kickoff, if not a nooner. I'm also too lazy to actually check so...It does have lights. Incant remember what time kickoff was two years ago, but it finished under the lights for sure.
I don't think they like to use them because their team's not worth shining a spotlight on and/or it wastes electricity.
Just announced it will be Noon on ABC.
Ugh! Now I'm really regretting agreeing to work a short 10-4 shift that day. I thought for sure the game would be that evening!
As someone who lives in Asia I'm ready to be done with 3:30 kickoffs. I was really hoping for noon or 7pm. Games starting at 2:15am local wear you out after a few straight weeks!
Unfortunately....
Mute the TV and listen to Laze and Burnop online.
Hopefully my fellow students stick around instead of going home early for break!
This gonna make Fireman very happy.
Me as well.
This makes me very happy.
GA until it reaches 2019's version of capacity. Which means if anyone leaves you'll start to notice. But i'm going early for a front row seat!
The theory is that the people that arrive early won't leave early. I hope it stands true these new NEZ rules make the north look empty on broadcasts/pictures
I can only remember one time where we handled Pitt the way we should have, and that was 2013. It seems every other time we've played them, they play their best game of the year or pretty close to it.
History lesson:
1999, they played us closer than anyone else not named WVU in the regular season.
2000, same deal except Miami instead of WVU. This was the game where Carter Warley hit that game winning field goal. Pretty sure that was the last field goal he ever made too. /s
2001, they beat us like 38-7.
2002, we were ranked 3rd, and they beat us by a touchdown. Their inconsistent quarterback had the best game of his career up to that point, and Larry Fitzgerald went off.
2003, same exact deal except we were ranked 5th.
2012, we were 2-0 while they were 0-2 with a loss to Youngstown State. They killed us.
2014, apparently we lost. I don't remember this game at all. I think I had a soccer game in Pocahontas County, WV, and there is no service up there.
2015, we had 100 yards of offense and lost.
2016, the infamous Narduzzi freakout game. Aside from Clemson, it was probably the beet game Pitt played all year.
2017, an improbable goal line stand was the difference between us winning and losing our third straight game.
2018, they rushed for like 500 yards.
My point is, Pitt always seems to have some historically good game against us. It doesn't matter who their coach is, what they've done in other games, or even where the game is being played at despite Heinz Field getting most of our hate. Pitt always plays some incredible game, and if we're going to win, it's probably only going to be by one possession.
Couple things:
2000 game didn't have Vick, Meyers started. Would have been much more a beat down if Vick was healthy.
We suck in Pittsburgh. Our record is terrible. We are so lucky this game is at Lane.
Vick did start that game. He got hurt at the very end of the first half. It was the Miami game he didn't start which was unfortunate because in the 30 for 30 about that era of the U, they talked like Vick had played the whole game.
We are 3-2 against Pitt in Lane Stadium since 2000 which is much better than the 1-5 record at Heinz. I still just hate this game because it's always a nail biter no matter how bad Pitt is.
Are you guys anxious? I'm so anxious. I cannot wait until game day.
I'm anxious because I seem way more confident than everyone else here. Watching their condensed games from the season, I just don't see them keeping up with how we've been playing AD
I feel like this leading into Pitt damn near every year, but then I remember the history (posted a few spots above), and it makes me nervous. Pitt always seems to somehow have our number
Yea, I'm usually nervous for Pitt as well...I just feel like as long as we're playing like we have been, and stick together as a team, neither Pitt nor UVA can beat us. Now...Clemson? Yea, I'll be nervous for that one.
May not be able to roll in until 2:30. Will the public lot at Prices Fork be full? Should I buy a pass? Will I be screwed on traffic?
