GAMBLING LINES 2019: WEEK 14

I had an almost perfect week last week. If it weren't for anOSU fumbling the ball worse than Bryce Perkins in late November, I would have had a perfect sheet. As it was, I still walked away with a nice return (54%) thanks in part to a 6 leg ML Parlay of UGa, Minn, ECU (I know, by they were playing UConn), Iowa, LOLUVa (I know, but they were playing Liberty), and Michigan. I also some standalone bets hit: Tenn (+5), Wake (-6.5), ND (-10), LOLUVa (-16.5), and, of course, the VT ML (I should have taken the spread but, but oh well).

Still, if anOSU could have just figured out how not to fumble their blowout away, I would have tripled my money. I had a killer of a parlay with anOSU (-17.5), VT (-4), LOLUVa (-16.5), and Wake (-6.5). Yep. All the eggs in four baskets there.

Anyway, on to this week's lines.

It's rivarly week so I'm scared to death to even make a bet. On the other hand, this gambling thing is kind of addicting so I'll just go on ahead and do it anyway.

• VT (-2): I was really really really hoping that LOLUVa would be favored in this just so I could get a better return on the ML bet. As it is, I might tack a couple points to that spread to get the same result. This is my lock of the week. This is the defense that allowed GT 28 points, so, while I don't think we will have another shutout, because BP is just too slippery, we will get our points and mostly limit their offense. We will break their spirit by halftime and add on a few more TDs to add insult to injury.
• Iowa (-4.5): They are giving Nebraska way too much damned credit here. Hawkeyes by 2 TDs.
• anOSU (-8.5): I really want to take this bet, but I'm still pissed about the buckeyes last week and I know they're perfectly capable of covering this, but will probably piss it away with fumbles again.
• Wake (-4.5): I know we broke Wake and all, but Syracuse is straight garbage this year. I don't even think the curse of the Carrier Dome can keep Wake from winning by 7.
• UNCHeat (-8): I, at first, thought this line is ridiculous. This is a rivalry game against a far inferior team. But then I thought, you know, NC State may be a dumpster fire this year, but the only thing they have to play for is pride and they have the chance to keep UNCheat home for the holidays. I'm not saying NCSU will win, but I think they keep it closer than 8.
