I thought the exact same thing as soon as it popped up on my twitter feed. But after Hooker beats Clemson, that talk will simmer down.

Fire Whit.

But after Hooker beats Clemson BAMA, that talk will simmer down.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

"Future QB battles"? There's no way Hooker doesn't start next year.... right?

Earn your spot every year, ( or "earn your spot") returning starter or otherwise. I like that philosophy considering it means no one gets to slack off.

I hear ya, but I don't want reps with the 1's being spread out for the sake of "battle". If he is showing out with the 2's, maybe, but not until then.

Also, I think there is a point where it could be seen as disrespectful to have a "competition". I mean, Hooker is undefeated as a starter so far.

Disrespectful Is a bit much.

Was it disrespectful for Dabo to start Trevor Lawrence over Kelly Bryant?

Well that's just it though, I don't remember there being an open competition. It wasn't until Bryant started to struggle and Lawerence grasped a hold of the offense that we heard about it. (I could be wrong there) And, like I said, if he's lighting it up with the 2's I'm good with any battle or whatever.

Sure earn your spot and all, but that just means that if you colossally fuck up and regress then you don't have the job. I don't see anyone slacking off though since there really is no reason for anyone to get complacent at this point.

QB battles? QB BATTLES?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Bradburn answering questions now...is it me or does he look more like a tenured coach than a college player?

He's a punter.

So, yes.

Nope this was me dropping a live grenade and seeing who was going to jump on it.

More like pick it up and play hot potato with it

We will cross that bridge when we come to it in spring and August.

I understand we need to play lip service to a QB competition considering the kid transferred here...but unless Hooker falls apart, I don't see how there can really be one.

Battle for backup? If Braxton wins, maybe we move QP to RB, DE, TE, LB.

H back. Him and Keene would strike fear into the hearts of all the opponents that we face

QP is never moving. People need to get over that idea. Zero chance - give it time

Or if Bradburn gets hurt again, we can pull a GT and go with the thick punting package.

I was told that if Braxton had been declared eligible that there was a solid chance he would have been named the starter due to his performance, smarts and Hendon was hurt in camp and limited.

I personally would be interested in his passing skills due to his tape being kind of sketchy there. However, his tape is very old and he is due the opportunity to improve. He is dynamic athletically though

My Orygun friends don't have good things to say about his play.

I been here since day 0.

In fairness, wee Willie Taggart being his coach there in yr 1 might not be a very accurate measuring stick.

Every single off season, no matter what happened in the previous year, the coaches need to evaluate which QB (and other positions) gives the team the best chance to win. They might decide a new player gives them the best chance, or they might decide they don't want yet another new starting QB in a new season - or they might think HH is both the most talented and most experienced player, that certainly wouldn't surprise me.

So, I do think there will be a competition, but with how HH is playing I'd be very surprised if he didn't win it.

This is what I was saying when JJ left, supposedly because he didn't want to go through another QB competition. I feel like in college, there's always a competition for every spot every year. Obviously in some years, it's just a formality, like when you have a Vick or Tyrod full entrenched as the starter. We don't have one of those kind of years right now, but that's largely a complement of the depth of the QB room. I think Hooker will be starting QB next year, but all of those other guys are going to push him.

Burmeister is the real deal, it will be interesting to see him and Hendon compete next year. Also as much as I hate to say it QP may not stick around at VT his whole career

Go for it

With Brock and Burmeister and able to play next year, it feels like we got a couple extra high caliber recruits with this class, which is nice.

It doesn't surprise me that he's out there emulating BP. He's sneaky athletic. A real gym rat. First one in, last one out kind of player

He has a high motor coaches son on his want to.
