Here's a brief summary from yesterday's practice. There's not much substance here because it was pretty routine on the field. The Hokies went out in full pads for the first time this morning at 10:45.
2012 signee Drew Harris took in his first Hokies practice.
And Mike Vick is still helping to recruit kids to Tech. Video is via Hayley Salyer.
If Harris is a healthy 220-225 pounds come August, oh boy, the competition at tailback is going to heat up this summer. Harris, J.C. Coleman and Trey Edmunds were all highly rated running backs from the 2012 recruiting cycle and each one brings something a little different to the table.
Three 2013 targets were also at practice: defensive back Kendall Fuller, offensive lineman Braxton Pfaff, and quarterback Bucky Hodges. Hodges now holds ten offers, and says regarding favorites, "I don't know. I'm wide open right now". While at Tech yesterday he tweeted, "Good visit so far".
According to Mark Giannotto, Scott Rolin suffered a knee injury. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Scott.
A double rainbow at practice can only be a good omen for the upcoming season, right?

kickers
Was told about 20 kickers tried out today. That number was reduced to about 8 (2-3 per kick) which will return on Monday.
Lauren Luttrell didn't make it forward.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(
Bucky Also tweeted
and I'll paraphrase because his twitter account is protected: "Looking forward to college" and "JC is going to be real good next year."
Hopefully, with all these visits to VT, he'll bond with several other players and recruits, making VT that must attend school.
From that article, it looks like he may be high on LSU, so it may end up being a VT, SEC, tOSU battle. Stay home Bucky, VT has made you their #1 priority (as he should be).
Fuller injured?
Heard something about Kyle getting hurt... hope it's not serious.
Torian mentioned that on a video on hokiesports.com too. He didn't seem too concerned.
Agree.
Important note, Torian said Bonner and Jarrett moved back to corner to replace fuller. 1) Versatility is good. 2) I hope Michael Cole is good enough to win the starting safety spot.
Double rainbows
I have a video of my wife noticing a double rainbow over the duckpond in the very early morning tailgating hours before the first Clemson game last year. She said "Oh look, two rainbows!!! I have a good feeling about this game!" I made a point to play back that video to her later that night. She apologized and made me a sandwich. I've hated rainbows ever since.
Double rainbows ... not always a good omen.
stunned that the beat writers are not talking more about all the adjustments in the secondary. either this is a validation of Michael Cole, or damnation of Bonner and Jarrett. And, who is the rover now?
