Nice

July was quite a month for VT recruiting....Ohhh yeahhhhh!

I was hoping to have a story ready to go on this when it happened, but I got derailed last night. Admittedly he told me he was announcing in the evening so. Story soon, and the insights from his head coach are top-shelf.

I got derailed last night

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Must be true. I'm sure he wasn't out golfing... absolutely sure...

My day yesterday: work, golf, code, transcribe/write story. I got halfway there!

What sucked about that is I had racked up back to back pars and was hitting the ball well. Do you play? I was thinking of making a golf thread at some point.

Golf thread is a go! I can update how i turned a 42 front 9 into a 105 total every time I play.

Yes - Poorly, and I definitely do not get out enough. However, get me out there on a course with houses that back up close to the fairway and I'm loads of fun to watch play.

All over a golf thread. Club Championship today and tomorrow.

I read this as:

I was hoping to have a story ready to go on this when it happened, but I got railed last night.

Had to do a double take.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

I hope to get railed in the near future.

This is the way

What is in a rail and is it the same as a hurricane?

"If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?"

It's all the cheap liquor in the well, so it's a shot of whiskey, tequila, vodka, gin, rum, and triple sec (I think) topped with a splash of sprite or coke and a little grenadine. If you are feeling particularly randy, you can have Red Bull instead of the pop. Basically a long island iced tea with an extra shot. Don't drink two or you will try to convince Eddie Royal to streak the drill field after close.

Whatever. It was one bad year.

Seasonal Brew means High ABV for football season and standard the rest of the year.

Good things don't happen after 2 rails. 1.75? Sure. But not two. Granted, I always drank a good bit before having a rail

I tried to drink 3 before but I learned that makes me puke in the bushes of Lot 18. I wish I could say this happened in my college days but I was in my 30s.

How are you a VT fan but not know what a rail is???

Twitter me

I have had rails but did not know the ingredients. Somehow I remember grapefruit juice but maybe that was a hurricane?

"If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?"

I just wish rails didn't make me think of TOTS. They're a decent enough drink, but that establishment is awful. Only time I've thought I was going to get in fight with staff in downtown bburg was at TOTS in summer time.

IIRC, Sharkey's had a similar drink called a Weaver. Can't remember much of the details of it, strangely.

I have a confession. I graduated from VT and am back on campus several times a year and have been drunk a lot of places including McBryde 100. I've never been in TOTS.

Same year and I've been once to drink a rail.

WOOHOO!

I was starting to get increasingly nervous with the delays and Miss State offer that we might end up in another Huggins-Bruce type situation.

Our future starting defensive ends will be

It's a Half Nelson

Oh No it's a Full Nelson

Edit: there is a DE named Ozzie Hoffler that 247 is saying is warm to us. Also out of Georgia.

Another solid addition to the DL! I am liking the new size emphasis on the end.

FAM!

This was who I was alluding to a couple of weeks ago. The info I got was that he was committing last Monday, but turns out that was the date of when he was going to film his video.

Either way, I like the pickup. His film doesn't blow me away, but there are people who are much smarter football minds than me who love him (French included), so that excites me.

From that video, his "slap" technique could look a lot worse (if only they could switch the # of stars):

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #YNWA

Do we know if this dude decideds to shave it all off or just naturally bald at 18?

(anything connected to cancer/chemo, I whole-heartedly apologize... the above question isnt meant to be funny, just curious)

Bleeding burnt orange and chicago maroon

He has Alopecia which is a condition that causes spot baldness. Had a friend that had the same deal in highschool.

On his slap technique I remember his HS coach responding to these critiques saying that was a drill that he'd never done due to his HS not having bags, seems weird but it understandable that your technique is awful if you've never done the drill

(add if applicable) /s

Pretty sure he has Alopecia. There was a Utah State basketball player with the same thing for the past couple of seasons.

At least its Friday

As a retired dude, every day is Friday, so I'll just politely join you if you don't mind.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Isn't the 2nd guy in the video Nelson, not the bald one?

FWIW, I hope I'm right...

Long and a heavy shoulder. He will play over right tackle and shore up the run game. I really like the last five DE commits. Beadles, Wooten, and Carroll give you edge rush potential while Bryant and Nelson gives you a strong side presence that holds up on the boundary.

Now, check the Williams box and find a three tech

Can't wait to see Nelson give some OT the Cole Shoulder badum tss

Love his size... let's go. Tapp can coach him up!

He looks like he is 10 years older than he really is, excited to see TnT work with him!

Haven't watched the film myself, but seems like many people I trust think he has a ton of potential so I'm happy about this commitment.

Most I know about him is that John's Creek is a very affluent suburb of Atlanta.

Let's roll Cole!!

In the Beamer days this guy becomes a 270 pound DT. He's a heavy hitter not an edge rusher but with a high motor and some speed. Interesting to see him as a 260 pound defensive end in an updated scheme. He has lots of upside, takes good angles, nose for the ball, great speed, big hitter, and versatile.

As much as I'm excited to see the ends in our new scheme, the potential future of the DT position is what excites me most.

Just watched the commitment video. Really impressed by the way he moves around and how agile he is.
Also liking the unpretentious tone of the video.
