Alrighty boys and girls. Week one of picking games is under our belt. At least it's leaning in the back-to-our-regularly-scheduled-programming direction. Sort of. Just need to get the Hokies back on the field for real and it will truly be fall!
Welp, no perfect sheets last week. 4 pickers at 5-1: 2Hokiesin1, Mike Smith,Ropp32 and Yetti. On the other side of the coin, nobody went 0-6! (Notre Dame wasn't even close to either the bogus the line I misread and posted or the actual line last week.)
There is still time to sign up!!!!!! You're only 1 week behind. And if you only pick occasionally, it's a fun time had by all.

I'm going to try to keep as many ACC games in the mix each week. Unfortunately CBS doesn't like offering up a deep selection of college games to choose from, so we'll make due this year. Imagine that.
Boston College @ Duke -4.5
BC playing their first game, on the road, at a team that didn't get destroyed by the self-anointed ACC champs in 2020....I'll take the Blue Devils and the chalk.
App St @ Marshall +3.5
The other Mountaineers held a 1 point lead of Charlotte in the 3rd quarter. Marshall has, possibly, the C-USA player of the year in the making at QB, at home. Give me the Herd!!!
South Florida @ Notre Dame -25.5
Underwhlemed by the Golden Domers. If they are going to win the ACC, they just need to score more points than the other team. But that's not going to cover the rent. With USF this week, and their meh outing against the Citadel, I'll take ND, but barely.
UCF @ Georgia Tech +7.5
UCF didn't play last weekend. And GT tallied a win in northern Florida. No love for the Wreck? Well, I'll take them and the 7.5.
Miami (FL) @ Louisville -2.5
Miami bak....on the plane to south Florida 1-1. Give me the Cards.
Wake Forest @ NC State -2.5
Hmmmm, head scratcher. Pick one...any one...just pick one......Wake. shew.
Boston College @ Duke -4.5
App St @ Marshall +3.5
South Florida @ Notre Dame -25.5
UCF @ Georgia Tech +7.5
Miami (FL) @ Louisville -2.5
Wake Forest @ NC State -2.5
Beer of the week....
Whatever they have at the one-day member guest. Most likely Miller Lite. Looking forward to the cooler temps on the course. Should be a fantastic weekend!!!

Boston College @ Duke -4.5
Knowing nothing on BC but Duke looked like they have enough at QB to narrowly eek this out
App St @ Marshall +3.5
Going with the better team narrowly again
South Florida @ Notre Dame -25.5
Notre Dame but by only a few points they still have work to do
UCF @ Georgia Tech +7.5
GT may have beat one florida team but this teams better than the last.
Miami (FL) @ Louisville -2.5
dey not BAK
Wake Forest @ NC State -2.5
NC state should be better than an awful wake.
3-3 in week 1 for me... Let's do better this time
Boston College @ Duke -4.5 - I think Duke having an extra game under their belt is an advantage for them. I think they win by a TD
App St @ Marshall +3.5 - I have no idea, but Marshall is my last name so...go Herd, I guess.
South Florida @ Notre Dame -25.5 - I really don't get the love for ND. I think they'll win, but not by 26
UCF @ Georgia Tech +7.5 - This one is tough! UCF is supposed to be decent, right? And GT sucks, right? But I think playing a game already is, as I said earlier, an advantage. GT should, at minimum, keep it close
Miami (FL) @ Louisville -2.5 - Miami ain't bak
Wake Forest @ NC State -2.5 - Wake has played a game. NC State hasn't. I think it's that simple. That extra game is the difference.
It will be very important to note how teams who haven't played yet fare against teams that have at least a game under their belts already. Because if/when VT does eventually play this year we'll be that team that hasn't played yet going against a team that has at least a game or two on the books. So watching these games could provide a little foreshadowing for what we might expect if the Hokies ever take the field.
Well, there's bad news and there's good news here.
Bad News: My predictions were awful...1/6 is....well...ouch
Good News: My theory that having more game experience is an advantage was pretty resolutely put to bed...which bodes really well for the good guys in their first game against NC State this weekend. Let's just hope the offense can score because it looks like it could be a shoot-out (which, obviously, means it will be something like 13-10)
I went 2 / 6, so not much better.

Shit. Forgot all about week 2!
Same! And I know I would have gotten at least 1!
I didn't, but there are people who could have skipped this week and still be doing better than I am ;-(
