Lovin' On (yet respecting those impacted by): Hurricane Delta

Given the circumstances regarding the last time VT and UNC squared off in a ranked matchup down in Chapel Hill, the end result of the matchup, and then the excuses that ensued; I thought this might be a fun parody of our "Hatin' On" series leading into the weekend.

Looking at the weather, it appears Mother Nature wants a rematch of the 2016 Hurricane Matthew matchup. Who knows the severity, but I know it doesn't take much moisture to make UNC melt.

Some may call it irony, some might call it fate, others maybe karma. But if you mix those 3 words together you get: Karonate, which sounds like Coronate, implying whoever wins this game would be crowned King of the Coastal. (if we actually had divisions this year...)

I like the thought about the game, but cheering on a hurricane that may wreck many lives along the gulf is a bit of a bad look.

Maybe I did a bad job at focusing on what the posts should be about, but my intention isn't to cheer for a hurricane to wreck people's lives, it's simply to make fun of UNC being bad at football when water is present...

The content of the post is solid, it may just need a title change. That is just my thought. Carry on until a mod says otherwise!

I wouldn't sweat it. It is abundantly clear you aren't rooting for anyone's lives to be destroyed.

Unless watching UNC get beat by VT destroys their life, but well is that really a life worth living?

We can make an exception here.

I think you mean 2016, but you are correct. I wonder if this means we'll see a lot of QP on Saturday.

I imagine we see BB more than QP. The zone read game he excels at puts more stress on the defense which has helped Herbert a lot. 1 less player to have to block and Herbert has been killing it in the zone blocking scheme.

I think the worse the weather gets the more it turns into a power running game which favors QP. I still would like to see Hooker the most if we plan on throwing at least 20 passes.

If an incoming hurricane is a harbinger of a Hokies win then I will certainly "love on" it (jokingly on an internet forum while at the same time silently acknowledging the serious, dangerous, possibly deadly effects of natural disasters and not letting these realities ruin an obvious light hearted joke).

Proud author of one plaid comment.

Given our recent ground game success and our likely depleted DB room, it very well may help us.

I hope for limited damage for those impacted

edit: looking at current projections, with it being projected to make landfall in Louisiana around 2AM Saturday, I don't think we'll have a whole lot of impact by noon Saturday

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

My abundant optimism knows that the cone represents where the center/eye of the storm might be at that time.

We've still got hundreds of miles of outer bands that could still mask Tar Heel Tears

Does this means the canes are bak?

Yeah this thread makes me uncomfortable

If there is one thing that has remained true in 2020, its that karma is a bitch, and this might come back to bite us.

There are differences here.

1. UNC has a VERY good RB and if given the chance will likely put up huge numbers against our front seven.

2. This isn't Larry I Refuse To Run The Football Fedora. I don't think we'll see the same stubbornness out of Mack Brown.

Is coronavirus over yet?

also mitchell trubisky sucks in chicago now and not in chapel hill

Longo has tendencies to throw when they should pound the rock. I am hoping he calls a stinker Saturday.

I'd rather beat them on nice and safe dry land.

hurricane Delta takes it easy on the wind and just drops a steady drizzle.

Am I getting it?

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.
