You're the voice of reason, French. Hadn't thought about the advantages of rain in the passing game. I'm just worried about a not-particularly-accurate passer maintaining a grip and having proper release on a wet ball.

Lefty has said he won't be timid playing to Motley's strengths going forward. I hope that's the case.

I also hope he's serious about finding a clear-cut QB3 and developing him live, because it's a fair guess that Motley will take an injury at some point that's at least serious enough to need his backup to finish out a game.

Ah yes, thank you for reminding me of the other thing I'll be watching for. Will Motley be allowed to play his game, scrambles and designed QB draws included? Or will we try to force a square dual-threat peg into a round pocket-passer hole?

The weather won't be very conducive to developing Motley's passing game. That's a shame. But we still have to try throwing it around a bit, just to see what we've got there.

I'm hoping for a dominant performance from both lines, and for two tailbacks to clearly distance themselves from the rest of the depth chart.

I'm wondering if you could apply the rub to the bacon. Too fatty for bark to set, you think?

There's a local brand in my neck of the woods called Kitchen Cooked. Also cooked in lard. Can confirm, they are addictive. However, after having too many, your mouth feels like you just ate a candle.

I'm not certain I've ever had a non-Crab Chip Utz. But damn do I miss those.

Despite losing our starting QB for at least the first half of the season, I'm optimistic about our offense because of what I saw and how you articulated it in this writeup. This offense looks completely different than the ones we fielded under Stinespring. We're watching an offensive identity emerge. If Lefty can find a QB who can manage this offense in Brewer's absence, I think we're going to be fine. The scheme is well-enough thought out, and we have enough talent at the skill positions and an improving O line, that I just can't help but think we'll be okay. So long as we find a QB who can make his reads.
