I think you nailed this. I believe Kraft gambled (what he thought was a safe, if not sure, bet) that the worst he would end up with was Rhule. He lost that gamble and then other jobs started opening and all of a sudden he is now squarely behind the 8 ball.

These are ACC Announcers. Isn't this exactly what the SEC does with their 3 and 4 loss teams? Shouldn't we want them doing this? I know its for WeRBak but what if that's us next year? This is exactly what they need to do.
I remember during ACC Championship game when FSU were undefeated, the announcers spent the entire game schlobbing on the SEC teams rather than talking up the ACC. That was a terrible look.

Drones is not good and not smart....pass blocking is lacking. Fourth down play call early left a lot to be desired; do we not have any trick plays the bag?

The only logic I can see is he thought his buddy Rhule would jump for the job. Then he found out maybe they weren't really as friendly as he thought.
Now he's flailing.
Need to go with some 2 TE formations for additional blockers but I don't think Monty's offense utilizes multiple TEs at all.
