I've been doing the whole CharlieDayConspiracy.gif trying to figure out who Sekrah is.

Appears that they predated Franklin at Penn State - there are 247 message board topics discussing Sekrah's sources (and identity) as far back as 2011/12. According to Sekrah, they broke the news on the BOB hire. That would rule out family member (or JF himself, or his agent) but wouldn't surprise me if they became part of Franklin's inner circle between then and now.

The added prep for the search allows VT the time to get everyone aligned to swing big with a major influx of funding which allows VT to immediately stand out when they approach James Franklin immediately after Penn St foolishly fires him. James Franklin, head coach of VT, then hires away the ODU head coach to be OC.

They might have won that battle, but goddamn we would have burnt their village and salted the earth during the war.

The other reason that I didn't like him is because he took over Penn State after Bill O'Brien, who nobody likes, and had them winning the Big10 in the first year after "sanctions." I wanted so badly for Penn State to fall off the radar and have no hope of ever sniffing any accolade after what went down there.

I agree. If one of my close family members was tweeting out some of the stuff Sekrah is, I'd be pretty pissed.

Telling everyone i was going to VT the whole time, that I hadn't signed the deal yet so I could tamper, and then shitting on other schools who interviewed me. That's all stuff I would personally prefer to keep in house and if a family member was putting on the internet, I would tell them to STFU very fast

I am guessing Sekrah is either family or a close family friend of Franklin. He/she knows a lot about this process, more than someone who didn't have direct knowledge would.

I think it's more likely that they are either:

  • A messageboarder who's really good at reading tea leaves
  • Someone in Sexton's army at CAA who's been doing grunt work on this deal

I think this depends on Rahne and what he wants in a job. If he enjoys being a head coach, i think he stays at ODU. This season earned him a lot of good will on campus, but he's going to keep losing his best players year-over-year barring some change in how transfers work. He'd also make more money as the VT OC. But if he goes back to being an OC, who knows when a chance at HC will come up for him again?

Like I said in the other thread, I don't hate this for VT.
Sucks on the ODU side though.
