I think 8-10 wins in 2026, ACC Title berth in 2027 (possible win, but depends), spot in the Playoffs in 2028. I think by 2030 we'll have at least one playoff win, which will help our case when the ACC collapses and teams get gobbled up by the Big2

Both residential. The first is a 600-bed upfit of an existing building (they're adding a floor) and the other 600 beds comes from a brand new building. Will be a couple of years out until those are ready. Campbell Hall is also getting a partial renovation.
Right now the expectation has to be that VT is playing for an ACC title within 3 seasons, if not sooner. Going to be real hard to completely revamp the roster this winter from where it is, I mean while we do have some good players the depth is miserable and we have to be realistic that its unlikely to be completely rebuilt overnight. But give it another full recruiting and portal cycle? Yeah, starting in 2027 VT should be highly ranked again and legitimately pushing for a playoff bid.
I hate to be this guy, but we are too old. Vick last played in the league 10 years ago (he was still on a roster for two more years) when incoming recruits were in 2nd-3rd grade.

I hope we pack the stands Saturday and start this thing off on the right foot. If anyone is sitting on tickets get them in the hands of someone who wants to be there and help show these recruits we're serious moving forward.
Franklin's record vs the top-10 will be talked about ad nauseum. I don't think there's much we can do about that. Fact is, everyone is going to struggle vs the top 10. That's why they are top 10.
VT isn't going to be routinely playing 2 top 10 teams every single year in OSU and Michigan. Franklin will recruit studs to VT that we haven't seen since the likes of Tyrod Taylor, David Wilson, (pick your Fuller bro here), Kam Chancellor, Vince Hall, Xavier Adibi, etc. and he's going to maul most ACC teams regularly.
Also, it seems to me that Franklin is out for blood. And he's got to be aware enough to know what the talking points are against him - I wouldn't be surprised if he focuses on ways to improve in those areas and prove folks wrong.
10 years ago, a change like this I would expect a slow start in season one as he slowly rebuilds the roster. But this day in age, with the NIL/Portal era of football, I fully expect Franklin to build a 10-win roster in one off season. VT has a tougher-than-usual schedule next year but I think it's fairly likely for Franklin to win between 8 and 10 games right out of the gate.

I'm just saying, if we are going to honor any jersey, it should be Vick's #7. That would actually mean something to current players who largely grew up watching him play or hearing stories about his greatness.

Three things (1) are you married to Trane? I typically work with Carrier / Bryant and could do a Bryant evolution 20 seer variable speed HP with variable speed indoor intelisense air handler for $12,500 all in. (2) Is that $2000 rebate Trane specific or is it something you are applying for through your taxes and based on efficiency? If the latter, the equipment I was suggesting should qualify (I'd ask your accountant just to be sure). (3) are you married to the high-efficiency models? If not, I can do a 16 seer HP with variable speed air handler that would be all in at $10k. This likely wouldn't qualify for an efficiency rebate but all in cash would be the same.
Bottom line: 22 seer system for $12,500 with possible rebate, 18 seer system for $10,000. (Note: Variable speed air handlers bump seer ratings up).

Funny Wiles story. I was at Moss for a wrestling dual some years ago and Wiles came up to me and shook my hand and said "nice seeing you again.". That was the first and only time I ever met him. Not sure who he thought I was or looked like.

I still don't want Stiney in 2025. LOVE him. He's an all-time Hokie. But is he truly the best we could hire for a recruiting coordinator? Or is he just a name that people remember fondly.
That's going to be a huge difference under Franklin: he will be relentless and he DOES NOT CARE about how things have been done in the past. He will be respectful of tradition like he was at Vandy and PSU but he will absolutely run things 100% his way which is what we have needed since Frank retired.
As much as I loved Adibi as a player, our LB core is pathetic and haven't really gotten better under him.
He might have a higher ceiling but he needs a scissor lift to get there
