Exactly. If they didn't want to pay the money, they shouldn't have fired him or agreed to the contract originally.

I hate to agree with Brian Kelly but if you fire me you're paying me every single dollar I am owed.

Fickell hasn't been giving much cash to work with (relative to his conference-mates) - The AD came out and said as much. From CBS/Tom Fornelli

"Chancellor [Jennifer] Mnookin and I are aligned on significantly elevating investment in our program to compete at highest level," McIntosh told ESPN. "We are willing to make an investment in infrastructure and staff. As important, is our ability to retain and recruit players in a revenue share and NIL era."

Any time somebody tells you they're going to significantly elevate the investment in the program, that means there's a lot of elevating that needs to be done. Simply put, Wisconsin hasn't been playing on the same financial field as the rest of its Big Ten brethren -- it participates in the rev-sharing that gives about $13 million to its football program, but it is clear its NIL offerings are lacking. It's a huge reason why Fickell has been so unsuccessful to this point, while other Big Ten programs, which were much further behind Wisconsin with on-the-field results when Fickell was hired, have been able to take such giant leaps forward..

The all you could eat wing buffet at Sharkys on Wednesday and Sunday nights (I think it was like 7 bucks) was a staple for me and my friends late 90's.

I think Wisconsin is one of the schools that actually makes sense to move on. They had the upset over Washington this weekend, but Fickell has kind of tanked that team's hopes more than other coaches. Wiscy firing Fickell makes a lot more sense than both Franklin and Kelly's firings for example. Napier and Pry are somewhat better comparisons to his situation, though I think Pry is probably a level beyond those two based on the O&M glasses, but even without them he was a disaster when it came to gameday.

...you will be hearing from my attorney's.

What? You will be hearing from my attorney's....attorney? 😏

It's not even the NFL Network...it's the ridiculousness of the NFL whoring themselves out to the highest bidders. In this case, Amazon Prime (insert vomit GIF here).

I think I recall telling this story on here before, but do y'all remember the Dietrick chili challenge? My buddy made it all the way through the week, day 5 and got his t shirt I think. Right after that last day he was in the shower in O'shag down in a 3 point stance with the cold water blasting on his b-hole. This was spring semester, 1996.

Maybe Wisconsin is the only level headed group of people in the entire landscape.

These buyouts are ridiculous at best, criminal even. Then, with Jimmy Sexton representing most of the candidates available, the market will be reset this year. It's a tough time to be in the market for a new coach.

Maybe Wisconsin either believes Fickell can get it going at some point or that they can buy some time and make a better hire, with a lower buyout, next year.

Latest update that has me laughing on LSU.
1st Offer LSU turns to Kelly and says we will pay you 25 million tomorrow one check if you want as a settlement. Response you owe me 54 million divided evenly in monthly payments until 2031.
2nd Offer. They say we will pay you 25 million tomorrow and strike the offset clause from your contract.
Response you owe me 54 million divided evenly in monthly payments until 2031.
3rd offer. We will pay you 30 million in two payment over the next two years and strike the offset clause.
Response you owe me 54 million divided evenly in monthly payments until 2031. If you make another offer to settle, you will be hearing from my attorney's.

You could cram a few biscuits, some oatmeal, some eggs and salsa all into a to-go container for like $3.00 or something. It was awesome. The sandwich of the day at Shultz also went pretty hard. With those stupid fried apple nugget things? So good. Pretty sure either meal I'm describing would destroy my 35 year old self, but 18 year old me loved it.

I was just on a Celebrity cruise a couple weeks ago and can confirm they still use powdered eggs for scrambled at the buffet. One bite and I couldn't finish. They did have a made to order station that used real eggs, though.

But yeah, if one of the higher end mass cruise lines still do it that way, I don't think its going away anytime soon.

The matchup doesn't matter, the NFL is king when it comes to viewership ratings no matter who is playing. It's why CFB gave up on premium Thursday night games, most of their good weeknight matchups are on Friday nights now to avoid the NFL

We got ourselves a point forward FAM!

Ever since the NFL started scheduling it regularly, that slot for college has mostly been mediocre G5 games.

And 99% of them have been a better matchup than whatever nonsense is being played on NFL network

Ain't nobody has a 'relationship' with ESPN. ESPN has a relationship with ratings. They haven't viewed us as driving ratings for a long time.

Also, Thursday night ain't what it was. Ever since the NFL started scheduling it regularly, that slot for college has mostly been mediocre G5 games.

Duke seems about right. Legit team.

Who knows what UNC will be this season.

L'ville should be really good.

LOLUVA, if they click, should be really good as well.

Obviously VT is winning the ACC. Duh.
