The meeting was planned over a year ago and is routine business. There's nothing on the agenda about athletics, other than the BOV proposing the formation of a standing committee on athletics.

NW is a good university and to be fair, probably the only Big10 school i would allow any of my kids attend.

Honestly if it takes this much arm bending to get him here id rather drop 6-7M on someone else and have an extra 5M for NIL
Some people on Twitter have been mentioning another week or two but don't really provide much reason why other than maybe Sexton/Franklin wanting to see if anything else comes open they can leverage.
There's also been some references to a BOV meeting the Monday after the Florida state game being significant but that seems like a regularly planned meeting.

# | Hokie Hoops Central: Providence (1-0) vs Virginia Tech (1-0) 4pm Peacock Got to admit, this roster is probably the most well balanced and depth based roster we've ever had. Having a Magic Johnson sized guard and having 3 bigs is most exciting for me.
These guys, win or lose, should be interesting and enjoyable to watch, especially compared to last season's team. I'm happy for Lawal having a much improved team to play around his acrobatic abilities.
The silence is deafening. TKP is going to go crazy while we wait for a coach to be announced after the season is over (I hope I'm wrong).
That's pretty much the conclusion I've come to, based on nothing but a hunch

No source other than my gut, but I'm calling it. If it doesn't happen today, it's not gonna happen at all. It's been ten days since this first got serious smoke. The longer it goes, the worse our chances get. If some exquisitely-timed breaking news doesn't drop during Gameday, he ain't coming here.

Something I found interesting from Splitzone Duo's most recent episode "Big Coach Carousel Mailbag":
Talking about Lane Kiffin, Richard Johnson really drove home that Jimmy Sexton likes to use time as leverage. That's why we haven't seen any movement from Lane Kiffin. Makes me think that Franklin may not just be leveraging future jobs, but trying to make Virginia Tech (and other schools) feel the burn just from no commitment being made. I have a feeling we won't see a resolution related to James Franklin for at least another couple weeks.
