You could be right, especially if the field includes Franklin cooling his jets and waiting on what he may view as other more desirable jobs to open up. And as mentioned earlier by others he could simply sit out a year and see who is shopping next year, although if I had to bet he won't take that option. I believe he really wants to coach next year and prove something.
I think he is gone because (as others have and will state) we won't (and maybe shouldn't want to) fare well in a bidding war with an SEC program.
Edit: Although I do agree that the recruiting boost discussed below is a very strong incentive to right the ship quickly.
