Is it bad that I preferred the old scoreboard and how the stats on the side felt easier to read at your leisure? Like it's nice that the new one is a big screen for all the fancy stuff and whatnot, but I miss that old scoreboard
I don't think it will happen, but I do think that he may end up shooting himself in the foot (or retiring) based on the fact that he has been slow to adapt to new college world when it comes to NIL and transfers. It's one of those things of if Clemson starts getting jittery that he is too entrenched in the way he did things and not in the way he'll need to do things, it could be another relatively sudden departure.
On TV they really needed a white outline on the script. The facemasks were awesome though

GT just let the Wolfpack put up 48 points. 24 in each half. Prior to tonight the most they had allowed was 29 with five wins allowing 20 or less.
For NC State, the only game they scored more in was against Campbell. Against P4 the 35 to beat UVA was the most.
Their luck is likely to run out at some point. Seems like it's happening to GT right now, despite a good effort from King.

I honestly think Duke and VT will beat them. They are so incredibly lucky the last several weeks.

But also, even if the offense played brilliantly- very nearly allowing two separate running backs 100 yd games is gonna make it hard to win
I Brown and K Brown went for 130 and 94, and accounted for 3 TDs.
In my almost 30 years of watching VT football, this is one of the softest defenses I've seen is field. If its 3rd and five or fewer, it feels like it's a guaranteed conversion, no matter who we're playing
That a great first half for us. Second half the defense ran out of steam being on the field that much. Offense was awful to close first half and the entire second half. drones can't complete a pass past the line of scrimmage.. Just awful play from QB spot.
Pack score again. 31-20 middle of the 3rd

This makes me think about the video screen WVU had installed to the scoreboard in the late 90s. I think they paid 6 figures for it but instant replays looked like a series of low res photographs. It was bad even by 90s video standards.
Spend money on nil. We don't need these upgrades until we start winning.
Current video board was installed in 2013. Before that we had a different video board with McDonald's golden arches on top
Right. I'm not really even sure anyone is debating whether he's a good coach. I think everyone agrees he's a good coach with a high floor who will demand a lot of money. He's the safe, albeit expensive, smart hire.
That said, I agree with fireman when he said this rumor has gone on for so long that it's extremely unlikely he'll wind up in Blacksburg. If he'd been announced this past week then it would have tracked. At this point it seems pretty clear he's not going to be our coach.
If it doesn't grow from rumor to official announcement within 48 hours then it's not likely to be true, imo.
Pretty sure it was put in when I was in school which now makes it 20+ years old. There may have been an upgrade or something in that timeframe, but think about all of the improvements to video technology that have developed in that timeframe. Seems like a reasonable upgrade to pursue to me, but, as others have said, I would also pursue LED lights, WiFi and some concession and choke point improvements concurrently with the video board and sound system.
If Miami lost all three of their games outside the state of Florida, I would be so happy.
