Definitely would be a nice benefit to hiring him. If we get a coach from the American conference like Sumrall, Golesh, or Silverfield, we could miss out on the early signing period from Dec 3rd to 5th if they are playing in their championship game on Dec 5th.

Since I'd have no idea what I was doing, I'd set the program back x-many dollars and they'd be even worse than usual for the week or two it would take them to fire me even if I was trying to do well.

# | The Argument for Glenn Schumann to be the next VT Football Coach I wouldn't be too disbelieving that a student at Alabama - essentially a kid when you start school - wouldn't consider going to an archrival school 15-20 years later as a grown man with a family. Sure some people will never consider transitions like Alabama-Auburn, Army-Navy, Yale-Harvard, VT-UVa New York-Boston, Edmonton-Calgary (my wife's influence there) ... but it's not like people's views do not adjust and mellow. I mean life is more important.
As Ron Swanson would say: "I'm afraid what you heard is " I want a lot of prime rib." What I really want is 86 prime ribs."

Not to play contrarian here but is this really surprising?
Bill never exactly made himself out to be a pleasant guy in public...did anyone expect him to be anything other than a miserable jerk in private (or at least what he thought was private)?
And would we expect him to attach himself to a happy-go-lucky woman? She's an opportunist with an axe to grind..that should have been pretty obvious from the get-go.
I generally like Pablo and think the NFLPA and Kawhi reporting he has done has been stellar but this feels a bit like pointless piling on.
UNC clearly should have seen this coming and the fact they dove headfirst into it is quite hilarious but this does little to advance any part of the story to me. The Lombardi-Saudi angle I think is potentially much more impactful.
I might make a post about this if I have time to transcript what he said. But he basically said 'ignore the search committee stuff - there's a lot of people who want their name in the press, and the search committee is a way for them to sound important. The search is going fine. Just focus on raising the rest of that $50m'
I do not listen to any podcasts, actually. TKP is my primary source for all VT football related content. I get a few scraps from my twitter feed but my twitter feed is mostly local news, chess, and soccer with a little bit of VT and personal finance stuff sprinkled in. And that's my social media in a nutshell.
