UNC have self reported recruiting violations under Bill. Supposedly Bill would take the $1mil buyout (the buyout for him to leave) if he can get a soft landing with another football team or media .... I dont see how another team hires him and he doesn't have any personality so media makes zero sense.

I don't know what you're talking about basketball hasn't started yet
Pete Morris, the guy was a joke of a professional.

Excited to watch less than half the Caps games I used to before Monumental disappeared off Hulu. Guess I don't really have enough time to watch that much hockey anyway. Thanks, Ted.
Whit was known as the money guy, he oversaw find raising at a number of stops and had a back ground of raising funds. However from the money side of his job hes been terrible. What is happening to our profits each year? why are we not investing? He's made great hires but I think that if they all looked could get a better job. Pay across the board at the university is subpar.
Also who was the idiot that controlled the tweeter account we let that go on far too long. Issues aren't handled at VT they fester and the leadership allows this.
Strong comment.
And combine a 2nd tier QB, poor OL play, and some 2nd tier coaching.......
Man, this thread.

Sounds like they are trying to find "for cause" to get around his 50 mil buyout. The sad part is he has enough money that he could afford to keep them in litigation for years because he wants to until they settle.

High school signing day should be in December if they are going to keep only the one January window
I mean, I was skeptical he would be nearly as successful at the college level, particularly considering his last few NFL years weren't exactly stellar.
Then the gold digger girlfriend made the situation even more questionable and bizarre.
But this has gone to complete hell waaaay faster than I would have ever imagined. This isn't a regular dumpster fire, but a napalm-filled dumpster fire....and I love every minute of it.
It seems impossible he lasts beyond this year at this point.

# | Some say the sun shines brightest the day Pawl Finebaum gets removed from ESPN I definitely dont. I gave up on ESPN right around the same time they cancelled Mike & Mike. Around the Horn had it's place, and it was a good one, because it didn't rely on any one person - it wasn't TV personalities, it was local sports writers, and the Mouse went and cancelled that one presumably because (to your point) there wasn't enough yelling.
When this inevitably ends and we look back on it, the hubris of Belichick and his team will be almost impossible to believe.
no, it didn't. Saw some other smoke on IG earlier today talking about the toxic program culture, and Bill refusing to allow anyone at UNC to acknowledge Drake Maye's existence because of Bill's ongoing beef with Kraft.
Via @Heel247, "potential exit strategy" discussions have begun at North Carolina regarding Bill Belichick, with reports of rules violations fueling the situation. https://t.co/kmElR7qN7R— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) October 8, 2025
Well that didn't take long
My personal favorite is that his buyout number is higher than their football budget!
The problem isn't necessarily a single transfer window, but moreso the timing of it. Teams hiring new coaches, and even teams in the playoffs, are at a distinct disadvantage.
Realistically, portal signing should take place after HS signing day in February because coaches would have a grasp on their rosters and staffing should be complete, but then no one can get enrolled for spring practice. That's why we had the second transfer window and early HS signing day to start with.
Given the restrictions driven by the school calendars, they really need to keep two windows. (Insert "we ain't here to play school" gif)
So, to go full circle, the problem is having just one window!
I won't pretend to know all of the responsibilities that would need to be divvied up between the positions, but the concept of three roles does have some merit.
1) Coach-agnostic head of football in charge of long-term programmatic aspects and continuity during coaching transitions. Maybe high school relations belong here, as well as building relationships with agencies handling the transfer market, and possibly even peers at G5 schools for 1st dibs on upward/downward player mobility
2) Head football coach
3) GM chosen by and tied to the HC in charge of short-term football operations and specific player personnel related to coach and scheme
Not sure of reporting structure - maybe there are 2 AD'S reporting to the President, one for football and one for Olympics with #1 above being the Football AD.
He is just like 90% of the other ESPN personalities, screaming at each other, talking over each other, etc. They literally have a show where 4 people yell over eachother until an announcement mutes 3 of them. In the 90s the personalities screamed because it was exciting, but then it just become like those political talk shows where people just talk over eachother instead of actually saying something worthwhile. If you turned off the sound and hid the network symbol I dont think I could tell the difference between fo news and espn shows its just people yelling over each other.
I dont know anyone that watches either of those networks, so I dont know what the demographics numbers say but I used to watch ESPN all the time and now I dont watch it unless VT is playing. It's terrible and maybe they start getting new announcers that have some basic social decency in the future.
Pry was saying Drones had "a lot of potential" at the beginning of the season. It's exhausting. He's at the end of his career, there's no room for "potential." He just doesn't have it.

So what exactly would one have to do to have a Recruiting Violation at a time when players are openly paid for play, tampering is not only accepted by essentially expected and you can fly Recruits to campus in Private Jets?
Is the NCAA seriously trying to count how many text messages you are sending in this age???
Edit:
Apparently this: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25258296-bill-belichicks-cb-coach-unc-reportedly-suspended-alleged-ncaa-rule-violation
Not that I have any love for UNC or Belichick, but this seems pretty ticky-tack.
