I get it. McDavid said I'll give you two years to get us a cup with a team friendly deal. If you can't do it, it's two years and I'm still gonna be a top five player. I can walk with a clear conscience and not feel like I'm abandoning Edmonton and some other team will pay me boatloads. If we do get it done and win a cup, pay me my money then. The guy is doing fine and knows he needs a cup to be one of the greats. And he probably can't do that if he's gobbling up 18 million a year.

The Kaprizov deal followed by McDavid extension baffled me. Kaprizov getting $19.1M and McDavid extended at $12M ...just doesn't compute

So much ^^this^^.

Great points. I've been high on Mullen since we fired Fuente. We need to do what it takes to land him, or someone like him. My concern is the utter lack of cohesive vision and messaging coming out of the athletic department right now concerning the process and the future... I think that might cripple us as it relates to landing a high profile coach.

In case anyone wasn't paying attention, the upcoming FA class is already a complete joke. Everyone is re-signing with their respective organizations. Necas, Panarin, and Kempe are seemingly the top of the class for the most part.

Ovi will almost assuredly re-sign in DC or go to play in the KHL. Malkin and Kane are old. TSN is going to have to fill a full day with like skits

Tyrod Taylor was solid, but he was never an All-ACC performer in college.

He was the ACC Player of the Year in 2010, and 1st team All-ACC. He definitely counts as a real NFL QB. He started multiple seasons, is still in the NFL at 36 (started a game a few weeks ago), made a Pro Bowl, and has thrown for thrown for 12500+ NFL yards.

Onto Mullen. I love this analysis. He is probably my top choice, and I would be elated if we landed him. My only quibble is that I don't think 2020 was bad. Record aside, I think that was the best Florida team since Urban Meyer left Gainesville, and his 2019 team was the second best one since then. That 2020 team went toe to toe with 2020 Alabama in the SECCG. 2020 Alabama, for my money, is either the best, or second best college football team I have ever watched.

At the end of the day, there's really no selling point stronger than he managed to turn Mississippi State into a consistent winner while being there during much of the peak of the SEC West, by far the hardest division in the sport in that era, and probably the weakest program in that division. That, combined with his recent success, particularly returning to sport in the portal era and utilizing it effectively, answer the biggest possible question of "well that was a different era..."

If anyone knows of some place hiring a person with experience in public sector inside sales/sales operations either remote or within the Northern VA/DC area, I am having a terrible time trying to get back into the workforce since June. I am not married to public sector jobs, that's just what my background is for the past 10+ years dealing with SEWP/Netcents/CIO-CS/GSA, etc. 2 years with a value added reseller, and 9 with a distributor.

Looking for something in Inside Sales, Sales Operations, or Deal Desk role, not looking to move into the field. I also have experience managing a team for 2 years and am open for a managerial role or individual contribution.

It's the same thing as all the patent trolling that the state of Texas allows in their courts. The patent holders (who obtained the patents via acquisition) have ZERO intentions of materializing their patents, but they want the quick settlement money from anyone who dares try to make a useful product/service from "their ideas".

If this truly turns out to be the case where the players want their cake and to eat it, too, then I agree with above...they should be laughed out of court. But more than likely VT would settle because it would be cheaper financially and publicly than litigating to the bitter end.

Yeah that seems to be the report on Muse. That he should be very good to help usher in a youth movement and get the next wave ready.

(Let's be real, as long as the Pens don't make the playoffs they're getting McKenna)

I've never wanted to believe a conspiracy theory more
