These players quit on the school after basically 6 quarters of play this year. Fuck them all, there is absolutely no excusing it whatsoever
I mean we all thought DeLane was trash and he is balling out at LSU. I bet there are several guys who the roster who are in the same position. Complete roster turnover even more than 50% would be really bad before we even had a new coach in place.
I don't know of anyone who is a fan of the NIL system in place. I am certainly no exception to that either.
However, if we aren't currently the worst P4 Athletic depart at this very moment, there's no question that we are in the bottom 5.
Guess what? Everyone else is playing by the same rules. Other colleges are actually operating with even LESS money than we are. They still aren't this bad. I get wanting to blame this on NIL, but ultimately the VT athletic department is rotten to the core. Let's get ourselves fixed before we start bitching about the external factors we are dealing with.

This program is a national punchline. Every sports outlet is taking turns mocking it right now. There is no coming back from this for anyone currently associated with the program.

They can put him on administrative leave now and officially terminate him later. If he wants to start working officially on his next chapter sooner than December, he can negotiate something. They can also do the same with Whit.

I imagine it wouldn't be easy to become a first time head coach in the ACC right now, and maybe nobody should be doing that, but the payout is rather large.

Also, frank started off under sanctions and limited scholarships. Pry started off with the greatest amount of money and largest staff this school has ever had.
The administration DID give Frank a lot more time. That was also nearly 40 years ago, and the landscape of the sport, the culture at the school, and the financial impact the team had were all very different back then. Almost no school can afford the same luxury of time that Frank had when he started at VT. That world no longer exists.

I'd rather the incoming AD and coach have more money, however they can achieve this. I could be letting Pry go on his own terms, whatever that means, if he is willing to negotiate his buyout. If not, let him pretend for another couple of months. Whit, too. No need to embarrass anyone. We just need change.
