Kansas City has good bbq, the last years of Kauffman stadium for baseball, the Negro League and WWI museums

In Paris, my favorite things that are not on the regular tourist agenda:
1) Get a bahn mi Sandwich at the Purple Door (42 Rue Descartes in the Latin Quarter) near the "Midnight in Paris" Church, then walk down to the little park next to Shakespere and Company, sketch and watch the Seine roll by.

2) The Medieval History museum Musee De Cluny is awesome.

I don't disagree, but I don't think Greenburg was a great coach either. It always felt like there was juice left to be squeezed. Obviously, CMY has his own set of issues (not going to deny that). IMO Buzz was the only basketball coach we've had in the last 15 years who could create a 5 year vision for improvement then execute it.

Greenberg could legitimately bitch about us getting snubbed

I feel like every year there was a reason. There were bad losses. It didn't feel like that when Buzz was here. We weren't sitting on the bubble. We were in.

ehh..yes and no

Greenberg's teams had much tougher competition than CMY's teams have. The ACC is much softer now than it was when Greenberg was coaching. His numbers don't look all that great but his teams would beat CMY's teams pretty handily 9 times out of 10

Greenberg could legitimately bitch about us getting snubbed. The teams were getting it done and getting passed over at Tourney time for shaky reasons.

Thanks as always for coming on, French! It was a tight 80+ mins, haha. Hopefully the Babcock bashing and questioning of Mines coaching are enough to shake the "SOS is state media" platitude. Whether it was me and Robbie, or me and Sam, Two Deep has always tried to walk the line of supporting of the program and critical of its flaws. Often skewing very critical (esp during Fu's tenure). No one wants to listen to two grown men bitch for an hour a week though. So we have to appreciate as many small victories as we can get. I'm hopeful the victories become bigger and more frequent with Franklin around. Thanks for listening - cheers!

His teams 2006-2011 were consistently better than anything Young has done outside of 2023 ACCs. Greenberg faced better coaches, a less watered down ACC and still won. Not an amazing run but outside of 2015-2019 under Buzz and 1981-1986 under Moir, its the third best stretch of Hokies basketball. Moir's run really goes from 1978-1986 if not for the 15-13 1980-81 team.

If you're planning on doing day trips out of Paris (other than Versailles), I'd just leave Paris for a few days and stay in the other place, as Paris is more expensive than most anywhere else. The Alsace is worth a visit. Consider Strasbourg or Colmar, and you can reach them by train. There are wine shops in these towns good for wine tastings.

Some other possibilities for wine trips are Loire, or Dijon/Beaune, but they aren't close together, so you'd choose one to focus on. Those are probably best suited for renting a car and checking out the little towns around.

This could get pretty unwieldy pretty quickly if you're also planning to hit London, as they're all worth multiple days on their own.

Pretty good idea but she was having sufficient problems acclimating to her new home and the workload of her classes and really didn't want me complicating things for her. She decided to resign herself to her fate and just move off campus.
