I told a joke during a zoom meeting and nobody laughed.
Turns out I'm not even remotely funny.

This is a much friendlier schedule for folks coming from out of town. Last year there was only ONE home weekend non-con game (everything else on the weekend was away or neutral site). There's six this year.

6'3" 188 seems mighty like DB size to me. πŸ˜‰

This is the kind of schedule that keeps the ACC from getting into the tournament. Even though quality wise Duquesne, St Joes and George Mason are not bad, wins don't help perception wise and probably won't metrics wise either (A10 usually underrated by metrics imo). We needed to add a couple big time games to this schedule, important now especially with viewership now being taken into the equation.

If we win it will be St Marys by far the best opponent in the tournament. Those two will be decent wins if we can get them, much needed looking at the rest of the slate

I'm really wondering about inside linebacker and safety. Who would be pushing Keller and Woodson at ILB I'm wondering. Santiago, Short and maybe even Clatterbaugh.

For Safety, Reddish should start but who will be the other 3 in the two deep. Cash had the best PFF. Flowers gets a lot of praise but French (who's usually right on these things) doesn't like him at all. This seems to be backed up by PFF grades. Covil has got a lot of praise too but he was losing reps to walk ons in the practice videos today, and seemed to be lower on the depth chart. Ellis we haven't really heard anything about. Bass seems to be likely redshirting. Sheldon Robinson apparently is doing really well.

If I had to guess at Safety I'd say Reddish and Cash to start. Flowers and Covil backups, with Robinson taking the backup spot from Covil sooner rather than later

Nash came in underweight and we immediately went to the portal to get 3 more DT's after that. Also he played next to that stud Defensive End that Georgia Tech got and is really high on, which makes me think his stats were inflated by defenses having to account for the other guy

I think he's probably just a depth piece at this point. Hope that lights a fire for him though

Isn't a snowball's chance in hell we rush for more than 150 against that defense.

But we might not need to. Sellers is a media darling, but they seem to be ignoring his fumble issues from last year. Our best shot is he's believing his own hype, and we get some turnovers early that turn into quicksand that break him mentally and mistakes get worse.

If we let Sellers get into a rhythm, Nyck Harbor is gonna put up Randy Moss numbers.

Camp Update:

  • Poor Madeline, having to sit through this whole thing.
  • Periods were lopsided today.
  • Still moving people around.
    • Battles at ILB and Safety, some WRs making it interesting
    • Alvez had one of the best days a wideout has had in a while.
    • Starters at OL are pretty set, but competition for the 2s.
    • Rangel sneaking up on Pop.
  • Montavious most improved on offense. He's had the athleticism, but he was thinking too much. Moore, Danielsen, and Altuner have been good for him.
  • Gabe stayed ahead of schedule of his rehab, stayed determined, but he's not 100%, but he's cleared for contact and only going to get better.
  • Huisman has been a problem for the OL. We knew we were getting a good player, but we didn't know how good he was at pre-snap reads.

Injury report:
We need to be a more physical team, we're going to have nicks and bruises

  • Cam Seldon - minor injury,
  • Bennet - knee bruise
  • Stewart - tweaked something, came back to practice
  • Wiggins - needs a little bit longer, not surgical
  • Meadows - in a boot short term

I read that Elhadj Fall is going to back up James Djonkam at DE, is that accurate? Fall is 6'3 288lbs which is DT size for the Hokies in the past. But the "thing I read" said the starting DT's were Kelvin Gilliam and Kemari Copeland and the backup DT's were Kody Huisman and Immanuel Hickman. I personally thought that Arias Nash would be in the top 4 at DT but maybe he is a DE now also? I also thought that Keyshawn Burgos would be a starter but it looks like Ben Bell and James Djonkam are the top 2 right now and with Elhadj Fall being one of the backup DE's that shocks me. I am happy we are big up front and the transfers are looking like improvements but Burgos has been very good at DE for us and Nash had a lot of praise when we got him. Anybody know what the top 2 strings look like as far as DT/DE?

My dream is the 10-team Appalachian Athletic Conference with:

  • VT
  • UVA
  • WVU
  • Tennessee
  • Kentucky
  • Louiseville
  • Clemson
  • UMD
  • App State
  • Marshall

Will never happen but damn it would be fun.

I also want the all-cocaine-conference that includes Duke, Vandy, SMU, TCU, Rice, Wake, Tulane, Miami, Baylor, and Tulsa. You could even break it up into two divisions along religious lines.

Do ACC Network games come on Sling? I'm guessing that's where most of our games will get dumped

The Super Bowl will be pay per view within 10 years. It will be played outside of the United States within 15 years.

Be prepared for that Sunday Ticket price to rise again

FTFY.

It's insane how much they're charging for it.

I still miss my DTV after 2 years of Dish, but they priced me out of the market and I've adapted. Direct was superior in our estimation, for several reasons. We watch too many different things to not have a comprehensive provider.
