Yea that's the sensible thing, but college football is allergic to centralized authority, so this is what we got
His dad sure did. During the 89-90 season the lowly Hokies upset Alabama at home 76-75. In that game Ibrahim (the kids father) had a dunk. The crowd went nuts. He wasn't the most coordinated basketball player, so he was as much surprised as he was excited to have the opportunity to jam it. Now, keep in mind, it was a solo "breakaway" dunk created by our defense.
That upset was a big game. I was there a few rows back from the court. Great seats. The Roanoke news covered the upset game. Me and my dorm buddies were on TV going nuts.
We also stormed the court afterwards and somehow got to the players tunnel. We were running with the team, cheering, yelling, screaming, jumping and Oladotum and I high fived each other. It was awesome.
But, it didn't last very long as we were quickly recognized as a bunch of idiot students and we escorted back to the stands and properly exited.
Great game. The crowd was electric. I also remember taunting the big power forward continuously and at one point he mouthed to us "Fuck You". We were laughing and jeering him all game.
Now I have a new dilema. A one legged trailer with a rusted out axle sitting on a cinder block. With a boat on it. Do I replace the axle, spending good money on a bad investment but allowing me to get back in the water. Or at least out of the driveway. The other wheel is in the same condition. I have a couple of thoughts. My neighbor is replacing his trailer with a new one soon and has offered to sell his to me. No showcase, but way younger than mine and in much better shape. Then comes the problem of getting my boat onto that trailer. I want to explore a couple of options, but am always open for a good idea. Construction company forklift and straps would make short work of the transfer, but then I'm left with a one wheeled trailer to dispose of somehow. I will also explore the possibility of welding some sort of patch-up to hopefully make it the two miles to the boat ramp to do the switch there and drop off my trailer at the Mathews Maritime Museum for parts and pieces. The wheel spins freely on the bit of axle left on it, and the bearings are in good shape. Either solution will cost me money, so I'm getting ready for some phone calls. I have a month before Paul's trailer will be available, if I were to buy it, so I have plenty of time to figure it out.
Anyone else ever have to deal with transferring a boat from one trailer to another?
True, but without Vick there's no miracle in morgantown, no national championship game, no heisman contender, no number one first round draft pick....
Shane will always live in the shadows of his father...

Preferred walkon?
Hatin' on Shane? I know just the guy

Wait...I've seen this somewhere before...
BOXING GLOVE ON A STICK!

Shane thought he wasn't going to get a Hatin' On thread because his last name is Beamer.
Lol break the tow
I like two sport athletes and that he was recruited by Indiana. Also 89 rating is pretty good, better than Kelden Ryan who I'm pretty high on.
I appreciate you recognizing that it's a silly belief and that you'll hold that belief until proven wrong
Shane felt he had to go to one of the worst SEC schools to prove that he wasn't just Frank's son. It didn't work.
I just can't. I went to school with Shane and he is one of the nicest guys I know.
Vick was definitely the nudge, but that was a team absolutely loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.
Noice!....
Shane didn't use Wake Forest's playbook and managed to still come off as a cheater who lost against one of the worst teams we've ever faced.
What i think, and have for a long time, is best foe the sport is have the p4 teams (top 64 create a single "conference" with 8 "divisions". This way therr can be the regional match ups and everyone is one more equal footing. The the conference can create some home and homes to get some better match ups.
7 division games 3 conference games gets everyone 10 power teams games, then 2 lower games. playoffs (which is dont care for) could be 8 division winners + g5 + next three highest rated.
The big games can be scheduled at a lot higher level which would help TV scheduling.
Having a giant conference doesn't really help having big games. In 2024 there were 26 games between conference foes both ranked in the top 25 (i.e. games create by merging conferences). In 2023 there were 34, so we go denied 8 top 25 conference match ups because of conference expansion.
Tiny us a bit much for some one over 6', but for a linebacker yes he is small
Vick was the most dynamic, but Corey Moore my break your ass in half if you dont think k he was the best player that year.
Vick was the best player on that team, but it was loaded with talent.
Michael Vick would like a word...
That road is evil on checkin/checkout days.
I'm definitely not 'functionally athletic' but I might be 'functionally alcoholic'......

Funny you still think our AD is forward thinking or proactive about anything. We haven't invented the future of athletics for well over a decade now.
