Stadium is significantly behind ours.
Still grass/dirt field. Only has seating directly behind home plate. Reminds me of Tech field when I was there. Has the tiered concrete grass seating platforms down both baselines. No idea on rest of facilities.
I think it makes sense for there to be a minimum payment to be included and then a royalty share for usage rates. It truly is a merit based payment system.

Problem is when you have a luxury tax, it just kills those industries, as wealthy people have a lot of control over their spending, and can spend in locations outside your control. This is well-documented. Ends up having effects you don't want.
So if you want to kill the boat industry, have a wealth tax on boats.
Any tax that is too tailored ends up being manipulated by politicians and industries. You want some tax revenue without killing a manufacturing industry? Tax capital gains on death. You can certainly make an argument for that, but there is an entire industry of lawyers and accountants who would object. Also, really rich people who borrow against their brokerage accounts so they don't have to pay taxes on gains.

What are everyone's thoughts on schools getting paid more based on how often their team is played?
I'm not sure if I'm in favor of this or not. My current play through I am building a Dynasty at Temple. Not sure if I would do that if they get extra money for every game I play using them.

A very good book, although fairly old, that does a great job illustrating the absurdity of government policies is The Death of Common Sense.

Along with The Millionaire Next Door, those are books that should be required reading in high school. Illustrates how certain aspects of government - like the ones written in the late 1700s - could be clear and consistent, while others, like the tax code (all 10,000 pages of it*) is practically nothing but loopholes allowing special interest groups and those that can afford the best tax attorneys to benefit.
* Do not know how long the tax code is now or was when the book was published, just listing the number from above in the discussion.

It means Virginia tech is done competing at the major level in any sport. But hey, Drake Dellius and Henri Murphy get their bag now and VT pays for exploiting them as slaves. At least we have that going for us. But we are done on any type of major level. Done.
Consumption tax is the way to go. We already have it of course, but it should be raised enough to eliminate income tax. If you want the rich to pay their fair share of consumption taxes, tax yachts at 110% for example. Tax country club memberships, tax dividends over a certain amount, yadda. Pay tax on what you use, not your income. It would work.

How does Murray States stadium, weight room, locker room compare to ours?
With the advancement of digital processing, amp modeling, impulse response, etc. Unless you are playing stadiums and can actually push a cabinet to its saturation point- i.e. the reason to play a tube amp- An Axe FFX or Helix and in ear monitors is the way to go. by far. A modeled Marshall Jubilee through a decent PA is not discernable to the cabinet/amp combo to the naked ear for example. Now, they are expensive- but you can literally download/load any tone known to man- even your own from your cabinet if you choose. No brainer. Save you money in the long run vs. tubes and pedals.

I hadn't bought tubes in a bit... good lord things have gotten expensive. This little thing takes 7 tubes too. I can remember cringing to replace the tubes in my old Delta Blues for $60-$70. Replacing everything in this Falcon just cost $300. Retubing the delta isn't even worth it.

Guitarists out there, please tell me what your rig is. Let's talk tone. Don't care if its metal, country, R&B, n()() metal, whatever. I know there are some guitar people here.
I am big into some durrrty country tones lately. First off, if you don't follow Andy Wood on the social media sites, you should. That guy can pick a chicken and then some. I'm lately playing into my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (really spikey treble I know) or just going into a power amp using the Tonex. Andy has also got me running my Marshall clean (wtf?!?) but yeah with a few good boosts in front, I smell what he's stepping in (nice mid hump aggressive tone, the Fender tone sounds a little sterile in comparison.)

"Still grass..." made my chuckle. Good for them. I was SHOCKED at how few natural grass fields still existed during the regionals and super regionals. I get the benefits - more consistency, natural bounces, and quicker ability to rebound from a weather delay. But the purist in me absolutely hates anything other than grass. At least make an attempt by putting in dirt for the sliding pits, home plate, and pitcher's mound.
