if they continue to hit like they did today I can guarantee they win the title.
Could be UNC's 75th team NCAA title.

18-2
17-2 UNC bottom 8
10-2 UNC at the end of 5
Two conferences of 16 teams, 2 divisions per conference (4 divisions total), and 8 teams in each division. Bottom dweller from each gets knocked down based on record alone. None of this touchy-feely ranking BS. Records matter.
adding Chipmans Wharf to the list -- my family is staying in the gouldsboro/winter harbor area for a week around LDW for both parents' 70ths!
Playoffs are only played at the highest level
Problem there is how do you determine the top 4/bottom 4 for the promotion/relegation if all 32 teams don't play each other ? For instance , in soccer, the teams within each division play each other(e.g. each British Premier League teams plays every other team twice and points are awarded-3 for win an 1 for tie and margin of victory/goal differential is used to resolve ties in position).
Issues I see
1) How would/could you do this without playoffs at each level to determine the "top 4 that would be promoted?
2) And much more difficult, how could you determine the bottom 4 to relegate?
3) The promotion relegation model really only works where there is NO playoff anywhere and the regular season is all that matters.
I'm good with that BUT no way you could fit 31 games needed for a 32 team division. Given the lack of needs of playoffs, you would need to have somewhere around 16 team "levels" which would keep the total number of games similar to what occurs today. This would also make bowl games obsolete I think.
Virginia should follow suit so as not to put us at a competitive disadvantage.
People say this all the time. You'll still watch.
I watch college sports and pro sports knowing that nothing about it is or has ever been clean.
Catching the sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain in the NP was really special. Highly recommend. If you want to do it, make sure to book your spot in advance.
Also the ice cream game in Maine is great. Really liked Blueberry Hill Dairy Bar in Ellsworth.
8-1, bottom 2nd, Airzona's starting pitcher has been chased.
Late to posts today - Arizona and UNC are up first in Chapel Hill. UNC already up 5-1 still in the bottom of the 1st.
Up later:
- Miami @ Louisville (3pm)
- FSU @ Oregon St. (6pm)
- Coastal Carolina @ Auburn (9pm)
All should be fun to watch. Auburn has been flirting with disaster it feels like for weeks. Would not surprise me one bit if CC is done with them by Saturday night in embarrassing fashion.
Sports Bar- K ODonnells.
Is that the Kevin O'Donnell?!?

you can play the TPC stadium course now for a reasonable fee
And just because I'm curious, define "reasonable".
- We need a premier league (say the top 32 college teams)
- We need a secondary league (another 32)
- We need a primary league
- Relegation happens - top 4 teams go up, bottom 4 go down
- Playoffs are only played at the highest level
- Players get treated like employees with all the tax benefits and disadvantages associated with it
- We get a players union with labor negotiations
- The LEAGUE negotiates the national TV deals with even revenue distribution at each respective level
- The LEAGUE also provides its own broadcast network for out of market games
- The individuals schools negotiate their own local media right.
Voila - we have the NFL minor leagues at the AAA, AA, and A levels
Except for the "this is what the fans wanted". I don't believe that any fan wanted to see this. I was okay with a stipend, like the kind that other scholarships give. But not this shit.
Nah, I haven't watched either of those games in over a decade.

10K page tax code, elect officials that will change those laws.
those "officials" don't exist
because every politician on offer is bought and paid for by....you guessed it...corporations that are uniquely positioned to take advantage of the 10k page tax code. As long as the code remains complex and wealthy entities are able to take advantage of them they're going to stay that way. No elected official is going to simplify tax code unless their financial stakeholders stand to gain from it, which, most won't.
Not to mention, no corporation "eats those costs". Any tax paid by corporations is ultimately a) passed on to consumers in form of higher prices, or b) paid by the investors/shareholders in the form of lower dividends or share value, or c) by the employees in the form of lower wages. Similarly , the "government" cannot "give" any person or company anything that it did not first "take" from someone else. It can "deficit spend" but that merely pushes todays "costs" onto future generations (when the bill including interest comes due) or by consumers with higher borrowing costs due to either inflation or government borrowing crowding out private credit availability.
The solution is to cut spending.

100% agree with these two sentiments!

1. Billionaires do have income. and Bezos claims orders of magnitude more than 70K. That is a media talking point on the age old rich v. poor political power play. 2. The whole "corporation" argument is a false one of course. The individuals that work for those corporations who pay their income, pay income tax. Corporations pay a myriad of taxes beyond that and actually drive the economy by employing people- who buy gas, food, TVs with those corporate paychecks. Equating that to "Joe teacher pays more taxes than Amazon" is not only not true, it's irrelevant. 3. The US and State governments can't employ 4 billion people. People have to work for "corporations" those salaries pay the large bulk of "taxes". 4. Tax revenue is not and has never been an issue in the US. So the "fair share" nonsense is a talking point, not an issue and not a solution. The solution is to cut spending. Tax revenue is not the issue. 5. If you don't like bezos leveraging the 10K page tax code, elect officials that will change those laws.

Still plenty of time for the most annoying things on earth for a VT fan- Oregon State winning one after their conference dies and they are a vagabond. Uber rich/top NIL players doing the literal impossible and winning a team title- Coastal Carolina, UTSA, Murray State. Our friends from Morgantown winning one. Still plenty of time left to be so fucking annoyed.
