Except in the cess pool that is college basketball, I am supposed to believe Will fucking Wade is John Wooden between the lines and plays by the rules now. lol.
There is not ONE fucking thing about the Baller Industrial Complex that mirrors the real world. Not one.
Babcock continues to be elite

Svechnikov is actively turning into the 2nd overall pick we thought he would be. Dominant in these playoffs so far.
Oh, and Nikishin had a pretty damn good game for someone making his NHL debut in the playoffs a month after playing in Russia.
Most exciting part about this year for the Canes is that we have a ridiculous amount of cap space with very few holes to fill.
Me and the family did the other day. R1 is by far my favorite modern Star Wars movie. I'm 54, I can't relinquish the original trilogy (minus the Ewoks). As a kid those movies were so ahead of their time and are held dear to me.
You are correct!
Sophia Holgado finished 22nd in the 10000m.
Nicholas Kipchirchir finished 8th in the 10000 and snags a team point. Linus Chepkochei finished 13th and Sam Hubert finished 22nd.
After Day 1, the women are in 2nd one point behind Cal and the men are tied for 6th.
Anyone headed to Cancun, keep an eye out for Tom Wilson.
Canes outplayed tonight, but Freddie and pucks on net bailed them out.
Lose 12-2. These guys are a clown show
Let's just complete the meltdown and make it 12-2 going to bottom 9
Yeah, the prices are that low because it is partially subsidized by Morale Welfare and Rec. and because it is Federal Property, there are no taxes collected by the State or Locals for anything, Real Estate, sales, alcohol, etc.
Lila Waters finishes 5th in her heat and does not advance in the 1500m.
Major disappointment in the mens 1500m. None of the Hokies advance to the final.
My thought with all this Will Wade talk is:

Granted, I have no interest in basketball, but still.
Down 8-2 now in the 8th. Had gotten it to 3-2 in bottom of the 7th and proceeded to give up 5 runs in the 8th.
Lejeune and Crowl just imploded on mound after Renfrow had a pretty solid 6 innings.
Nathaniel Paris is in 2nd after day 1 in the decathlon.
Lukas Baroke finished 5th in the hammer.
Mariana Pestana finished 3rd and Barbora Stejfova finished 7th in the hammer.
Lyndsey Reed won the pole vault with Julia Fixsen in a three way tie for 3rd, Chiara Sistermann finished 6th to stack important team points. Needed those after Cal had 4 points scoring ladies in the hammer. Erin Kelleher finished out of the points in 10th.
Logan Daley finished 21st in the 200 and will not advance. Good experience for the freshman and I'm glad to see the Hokies starting to attract some women's sprinters.
Hokies advance 2 to the finals in the mens 200m with Tillmon and Diaby winning their heats.
Down 2-0 in 6th
If I remember correctly, early 1980's, Mr. Foos was on Main Street close to where Sharkeys is today.
The settlement should've had a 1-2 year ramping period on it anyway. Much like all of the changes to CFB lately, it was way too fast with little thought or concern to the repercussions.
In many cases the players were told to go in the portal due to roster size anticipation. That is more the lawyers point on being allowed to return. That it wasn't a player decision. They were pressured to leave to vacate a spot.
Down 1-0 in 4th
Dang man...what did Will Wade do to you? Have some hate in your heart for him.

My only knowledge on the most recent update is what ltrPeter said above, so assuming his comment is correct, it's absolutely NOT like you're saying.
Coaches have been slashing rosters since the off season started to prepare for House. It's not illogical to ask Coaches to roll those actions back as the settlement is be (re)negotiated.
Except paying players is allowed in the form of collectives now. He got McNeese to pony up meaning he doesn't have to break rules anymore to get talent to this sort of school. Just because someone broke rules under a different system doesn't mean they continue to when that system changes in a way that benefits them.
If NIL (effectively pay for play) still wasn't allowed then your logic would absolutely work! But that's not the case.
They also want any athlete that entered the portal to have the option to return as part of the grandfathering. NCAA had proposed that players scholarships be honored but schools not be mandated to keep players on the team.
To put this in working world terms, the lawyers are now saying these athletes can put in their 2 weeks notice, but companies aren't allowed to terminate their employment and must allow them to return to work if they can't find anything better in the open market.
Fuck that!

I think it's a great example of how institutions consolidate power and the fact that the real world is an anti-meritocracy.
