Sure looked like a bean ball to me. Definitely, as I stated above, Davis was out of line after hitting his homer, stylin' and profilin', aggressively flip-throwing his bat and taunting as he piddled his way to first, but that pitch to French was just too obvious not to have been a reason for dismissal. Man, would I love to be there sitting in those stands today. Just hope our best are ready to get them again. We need hot hands and cool heads. GO HOKIES!!!

picking a college is seldom just because a recruit is in love with VT

I obviously agree, but I think a lot fans still think this way. I think fans in their heart want to believe that recruits grow up watching college football, have favorite teams, etc. Hell, a lot of the Gen Z recruits don't even watch football games. They play the sport, and they play Madden, but they don't sit down and actually watch the NFL, much less college.

Well, I disagree. We fans are upset by the state of college football, for sure, but picking a college is seldom just because a recruit is in love with VT. It's what develops during their association that might or might not result in a love of VT. If every recruit is just here to enable them to make bank or bolt, now that's what really upsets fans about the state of college sports right now.
My point is that she had a great college career with us developed not only by Kenny, but by the support fans afforded her. I don't expect instant love from one and done athletes, but she had a lot of love and respect from VT fans and that counted for what? I can't imagine a single thing more she needed from us, and realize she owes us nothing, but again, I'll remember Kitley with much admiration...

Her loyalty was always to him, not VT.

I think the number one reason why fans are upset with modern day college football is because it kills the notion that athletes select a school based on an emotional connection similar to how fan/students do. For a lot of athletes, picking the right university is just a means to an end. Fans don't wanna believe that.

When it comes to Virginia Tech, things are even more warped because Frank Beamer stayed here for ages. How many players were loyal to Frank Beamer but not Virginia Tech, and we just couldn't tell the difference because Frank was here for so long? It's an interesting thing to ponder.

We definitely had a good amount of overlap in the MVs.

Where is your honeymoon?

My mother taught me early in life that you don't waste your love on those who don't love you back. Even knowing how deranged some fans can get (think Maurice Deshazo's tires), when she followed Kenny out the door, she walked right out of my life. Her loyalty was always to him, not VT. Do I appreciate what she did here? Yeah, I was all in on that team, but as for the state of VT basketball, she and her accompanying teammates and recruits did a world of damage to what was a formiddable women's basketball team when they jumped ship on us to follow her guru.
Would I treat her badly if she showed up at the local pub or something? No, of course not, but I'd also not be standing her a shout when her beer ran low. So for her to be mad at VT because of her defection causing fans to be upset is understandable, but for fans to be upset isn't? Cry me a river.

1) looking back at your time with the MVs, what's the most Band Camp story that may or may not have happened to you or someone you know? (wink wink)

2) As you said Marching was not your favorite thing. Was that because marching is hot and sweaty, or because you found our marching program is not creative like other programs?

3lWhat was the primary gripe during your time with the MVs with the program or administration

4) Time Machine dillemma. You can go back a re-live only one experience. Your time at VT or your time with you pup Albert. Once you choose you must give up the other one permanently.

5) Given the trend from last year's Sheffield test to this years Leap71's recent aerospike engine printing with AI at what order of magnitude do you think engine design and capability will increase over the next 5 years?

6) Realizing that those are more designed for space travel which may or may not be part of your job does AI design, in your opinion, works pose significant threat to new aerospace engineers graduating from VT or do you see a path where engineers are still pivotal even when variable learning by AI systems overcomes current obstacles to their design programming?

Swedish fish, but I'm a chocolate candy person over sugar candies. Swedish fish are one of those things I get a craving for, get halfway through a bag and I'm no longer sure i like them.

This is one we have to judge in hindsight. If he winds up G5/FCS and we keep getting kids from Highland Springs, it's nothing. If he goes P4 and thrives and a bunch of Highland Springs kids start winding up at the same school, it's a problem

How good are you at kerbal space program?

Totally.

He looked physically outmatched at the P5 level in the Bowl Game.

That TD pass that hung in the air forever that he made no play on was very telling IMO.

Regarding how bad this is for the "Pry Era"--as long as this was handled professionally by the Coaching Staff, I cant imagine that his dad is going to try to shutdown VT access to Highland Springs.

Moreover, unless Pry puts a much better product on the field this year, there won't be any Era or recruiting pipeline to be concerned about.

I know the bowl game was a mess and a small sample size, but he looked very out of place in that game during the playing time he had. Looked like he was turned around and going the wrong way on multiple plays and believe he got "mossed" as well at one point.

The Highland Springs/recruiting perception with his dad isn't ideal, but I had written off him ever contributing

Probably a couple of times I've gotten pulled over but gotten away with a warning. Not very exciting there.

That was a chippy game, for sure. Glad we hung on, but Davis definitely shouldn't have flipped his bat like he did. Other than that, not sure why we were the most penalized. Coach was pissed to the max, and I'm not surprised he got tossed. Looked like their head coach was tossed as well. Tomorrow will be interesting, if nothing else.

10-6 Hokies in top of the 9th.

End of 8th got a bit crazy and saw Coach Szefc and two players ejected plus a coach from the UNC side.

Hokies got a two run homer from Davis. Davis then got ejected. Coach and another player ejected between innings.
